Esther Walker (1894-1943, née Ester Thomas) was a popular singer in the 20s. In 1919 she appeared on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theater in the production of "Monte Cristo, Jr.". And later in the same year she played at the 44th Street Theatre in the short-lived production of "Hello, Alexander". Walker's brief recording career ran from 1919-1920 and 1925-1927 producing some 32 sides. She died of cancer at the age of 48. Most of her estate went to the foundation she founded with her husband Karl Hoblitzelle, a foundation providing funds to schools, hospitals, agriculture, and other interests, which still exists today. This outstanding record was made in 1919.
