00:00So, it's really exciting to share this with them.
00:08There's been a massive wave of new information about Spider-Man Brand New Day,
00:13and a lot of it is pointing towards something pretty big like a major villain rivalry
00:17that's already being set up through earlier MCU footage.
00:20And the more you look at everything that dropped this week,
00:23the more it feels like Marvel is slowly putting all the pieces on the table,
00:26even though they're still holding back some of the biggest reveals.
00:30A lot of this buzz started because the movie showed up in a major summer preview,
00:34and that included an exclusive interview with director Destin Daniel Cretton.
00:39But that wasn't the only source of the new details,
00:42because at the same time, the first three pages of the script were released online by Entertainment Weekly.
00:48And these weren't just plain script pages either,
00:50they had annotations from multiple people involved in the film,
00:54including Tom Holland and Zendaya.
00:56You're not just reading what happens, you're also seeing the thought process behind it,
01:01which makes everything feel more layered.
01:03When you take all of that together, it gives us a pretty detailed look at the opening of the movie,
01:08Peter's emotional state, and even some hints about how this story might connect
01:13to bigger MCU events like Avengers Doomsday.
01:16And there's also been a lot of talk about new characters,
01:19including the one played by Sadie Sink,
01:21which just adds another layer of mystery to everything.
01:24Starting right at the top, one of the first big details comes from the way the movie opens.
01:29Marvel always does that flip card intro before their films,
01:33but this time, it's being used in a very specific way.
01:36Instead of just showing random moments from past movies,
01:40it's going to highlight memories that Peter Parker no longer shares with Ned Leeds,
01:45MJ, and Aunt May.
01:46And the script even compares it to what happens in Back to the Future,
01:50where a character slowly fades out of existence as the timeline changes.
01:54But here, it's not time travel, it's memory.
01:58Peter is basically being erased from everyone's lives,
02:01not physically, but emotionally and historically.
02:04And that's a pretty powerful way to start the movie,
02:07because it immediately puts you into his perspective.
02:10From there, the film moves into its actual opening scene,
02:13which, interestingly, we've already seen parts of in the trailers,
02:17just not in the right order.
02:18The scene begins with Peter speaking over a black screen,
02:22reading the letter he wrote to MJ at the end of Spider-Man No Way Home.
02:26That letter becomes a kind of emotional backbone for the opening,
02:30because it keeps coming back in different moments.
02:32At this point in the timeline,
02:34it's been about nine months since the events of No Way Home.
02:38That's important, because earlier reports made it seem like the movie might jump much further ahead right away,
02:44but instead, it starts relatively soon after everything falls apart.
02:49So Ned and MJ are still at MIT,
02:52still living their lives while Peter is stuck trying to figure out his own.
02:55When we finally see Peter in his apartment,
02:58it tells you a lot about his situation without even needing dialogue.
03:02The place is messy and cluttered,
03:04because he's constantly busy being Spider-Man and doesn't really take care of himself.
03:09And at the same time, he's been building all his own gear,
03:13which is another huge detail.
03:15Unlike before, he doesn't have access to Stark resources anymore.
03:19No help from Tony Stark.
03:21No advanced tech from Stark Industries.
03:23Nothing.
03:24Everything he uses now is something he built himself,
03:27using whatever parts he could find.
03:30And that includes a more advanced version of a homemade fabricator,
03:34kind of like a supercharged 3D printer.
03:36That idea actually connects back to his earlier days in the MCU,
03:41like in Captain America Civil War,
03:43where he was putting together his own gear from scraps.
03:47But now, it's evolved,
03:48because he's more experienced,
03:50even though he has fewer resources.
03:53Another big reveal here is that he has a new AI assistant called Eevee.
03:57It's basically replacing earlier systems like Karen or even Jarvis-style helpers.
04:02But the tone around it is very different this time,
04:05because the notes describe Eevee as the closest thing Peter has to a friend.
04:09And that's kind of rough,
04:11because it shows just how isolated he's become.
04:14While he's working,
04:15there's also this moment where he gets a sharp headache.
04:18And that's not just a random detail.
04:20It's actually the first sign that something is wrong with him physically.
04:23The script points out that his lifestyle being Spider-Man all the time,
04:28not resting, not connecting with anyone,
04:30is starting to take a toll on his body.
04:32And this ties directly into the transformation we saw hints of in the trailer.
04:37His powers are changing,
04:39his body is reacting,
04:41and it's not coming from a single event,
04:43it's been building up over time.
04:45So instead of one big accident,
04:47it's more like a slow breakdown that leads to something bigger,
04:50like him eventually forming that cocoon and developing new abilities.
04:54It also works as a metaphor,
04:57because in real life,
04:58if someone pushes themselves too hard for too long,
05:01things start to go wrong.
05:03And here,
05:04it's like Spider-Man's version of his body reacting in extreme ways,
05:08because he's not living a balanced life.
05:10At the same time,
05:12the movie keeps bringing back reminders of his old life.
05:15There's the Lego figure connected to Ned,
05:17a notification about bringing flowers to Aunt May's grave,
05:21and the coffee cup MJ gave him.
05:23Each of these moments hits a little differently,
05:25because they show how much he's lost,
05:27even though those people are still out there living their lives.
05:31Then there's the social media video from Ned at MIT,
05:35which we saw in the trailer.
05:37It's kind of a light moment on the surface,
05:39because Ned is excited and trying to hype things up,
05:42while MJ looks uncomfortable being on camera.
05:44But underneath that,
05:46it's actually pretty emotional,
05:48because Peter is watching all of this from a distance.
05:51He's smiling,
05:52but it's clear he's hurting.
05:54As the scene continues,
05:56Peter keeps reading the letter,
05:57and it leads into one of the most important ideas in the movie,
06:01his identity.
06:02He talks about how he's not just Peter Parker,
06:05he's Spider-Man.
06:06And while that might sound heroic,
06:08it's actually kind of concerning,
06:10because it shows he's starting to lose balance
06:12between the two sides of his life.
06:15There's even a note suggesting that he misunderstood what Aunt May meant
06:18when she talked about responsibility.
06:21Instead of seeing it as a reason to help others while still living his life,
06:25he takes it to mean that he should sacrifice everything
06:27and only be Spider-Man all the time.
06:30And that explains why he hasn't tried to reconnect with Ned or MJ.
06:35Even though he could tell them the truth again,
06:37he believes it's his duty to stay away,
06:40because he thinks that's what being responsible means.
06:42The scene builds up to him standing on the edge of a building,
06:46finishing the letter with a line about loving MJ
06:49and hoping she might still feel something for him deep down.
06:52But then he interrupts himself,
06:54because a police alert comes through,
06:56and he immediately switches back into Spider-Man mode.
06:59He puts on the mask,
07:01jumps off the building,
07:02and swings into action,
07:04which leads into a montage of him doing what he's been doing for months,
07:07saving people,
07:09stopping crimes,
07:10and basically living as Spider-Man 24-7.
07:13That montage is important,
07:15because it shows how repetitive and exhausting his life has become.
07:19He's constantly working,
07:21constantly helping,
07:22but not really living.
07:23And that's where the idea of a bigger rivalry starts to come into play,
07:28because all of this pressure is building towards something.
07:30On top of that,
07:32the movie is setting up future connections,
07:34including interactions with characters like Bruce Banner and possibly Punisher.
07:39And those relationships could play a role in whatever larger conflict is coming,
07:44especially if Peter's condition continues to get worse.
07:47There's also a lot of speculation about how this connects to Avengers Doomsday,
07:52especially after Robert Downey Jr. shared a promotional post that included Spider-Man imagery.
07:58Some people think that confirms Peter's involvement,
08:01while others think it might be a misdirection.
08:04And then there's the whole multiverse angle,
08:06because there are still rumors that versions of Spider-Man,
08:10played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield,
08:12could show up again,
08:13especially in something like Secret Wars.
08:16So when you step back and look at everything,
08:19it's clear that Brand New Day isn't just setting up one story,
08:22it's laying the groundwork for multiple arcs at once.
08:25There's Peter's personal struggle,
08:27his physical transformation,
08:29his isolation,
08:30and then the larger MCU connections that could lead into future conflicts.
08:34And even though we don't have all the answers yet,
08:37one thing is pretty clear,
08:38this version of Spider-Man is heading towards something much bigger.
08:42And whatever rivalry or conflict is coming,
08:45it's been building for a while now,
08:47even if we're only just starting to see it come together.
08:50And that wraps up today's video.
