00:05Am I le droit?
00:22Honnêtement, non.
00:23Non, non.
00:428.
00:44All right?
01:08Look at that.
01:09Kiss that shoulder.
01:11Kiss it.
01:12The story of your character, Jimmy George, happens in New York in the late 80s.
01:18And, well, Bohemian Rhapsody again was also in the 80s.
01:22You were born in 81.
01:24How important this decade was for you?
01:27It was coming of age for me, but I think it was more important to many other people, including Ira.
01:35I mean, seeing the film through his eyes was quite an edifying experience.
01:42I learned so much.
01:43There would be conversations we'd have at his house in New York where artists would come in that were sharing
01:48that period with him.
01:50And I felt like I was witnessing a period of time, and I'm almost like a biographer.
01:55I wanted to capture all the stories they were sharing about downtown New York theater, all these great performance artists,
02:02who had seen what, and if they missed it, and how they were sharing things on VHS.
02:07And, you know, what was special was there wasn't this globalization yet.
02:12You know, things were happening in San Francisco or London or Paris were different from what was happening in New
02:17York.
02:17And I think that's very unique.
02:18You sing in French, in the film.
02:21So do you expect Cannes to improve your French?
02:26Are you able to say a few words in French now?
02:29I think I understand French pretty well.
02:32But I'm not going to try to throw myself under the bus here.
02:37But what did they say? Break a leg.
02:38Merde.
02:39Merde.
02:40Yeah.
02:40That's a very famous word.
02:41Yes.
02:42Catherine Deneuve taught me zut.
02:45Zut?
02:46Yeah.
02:46Merde, that's a good one.
02:47It's a good one.
02:48So, Merde to you, Rémy.
02:50Merde to you.
02:51And toi aussi.
02:52Thank you very much.
02:54Thank you for the very wonderful conversation.
02:56Thank you.
