00:06I suppose it all started with the snow.
00:09You see, it is a very special kind of snow.
00:13A snow to make the happy happy and the giddy even fitter.
00:18A snow to make a homecoming homelier and natural enemy friends.
00:24Natural.
00:26For it was the first snow of the season.
00:28And as any child can tell you, there's a certain magic to the very first snow.
00:35Especially when it falls on the day before Christmas.
00:38For when the first snow is also a Christmas snow,
00:43well, something wonderful is bound to happen.
00:55Children, back to your seats.
00:57Yes, the snow can wait.
01:00Now, now, I've hired Professor Hinkle, the magician,
01:05to entertain at today's class Christmas party.
01:08So, pay attention.
01:11Now, Professor Hinkle was just about the worst magician in the world.
01:25And so, I put the magic eggs into my hat.
01:29Abba-cadabra, to coin the phrase.
01:31And voila, the eggs have turned into...
01:39Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy.
01:48Where is that rabbit?
01:51Hocus Pocus, where are you?
01:54Bah!
01:55The only thing this hat's good for is the trash can.
02:17Yay!
02:19Yay!
02:20You have dessert.
02:21You've had good luck.
02:22Ouch! That was some stupid frozen water.
02:28Hey, look at the snow!
02:29That snow!
02:30Yeah!
02:31It's cold and snowy.
02:32Yeah, it's a bad kind of snow, too.
02:34I like snow.
02:35Yeah?
02:35That was good.
02:37Hey!
02:38Snow!
02:39We're building a snowback, Karen.
02:42You'll make the head.
02:44The head is the most difficult part.
02:47Ask anyone.
02:49What do we call him?
02:51Yeah, should we call him Harold?
02:52Bruce?
02:54Nah.
02:55What the fuck, Robert?
02:57Oh, no.
02:58Oakmeal?
03:00Oakmeal!
03:01How about...
03:03Frosty?
03:06Frosty?
03:07Yeah! Frosty it is!
03:09Frosty the Snowman!
03:11Yay!
03:13Yay!
03:15Frosty the Snowman!
03:17What a happy, jolly soul!
03:19With a concatel pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal!
03:26Frosty the Snowman!
03:28Come back here, you!
03:40Happy birthday!
03:43That hat brought Frosty to life!
03:47It must be magic!
03:49Magic?
03:51My hat magic?
03:53Just look!
03:56If that hat is magic, I want it back!
04:00Happy birthday!
04:01But it's not yours anymore!
04:04You threw it away!
04:05Don't talk back to your elders, you... you naughty, naughty little girl!
04:10And you, stay in there, or there'll be no carrots for Christmas!
04:14But you can't take that hat back!
04:17It brought Frosty to life!
04:19You saw it happen!
04:20I saw nothing of the kind!
04:24Quiet!
04:25I can't lose that hat if it's really got magic now!
04:29It'll make me a billionaire magician!
04:32But we saw Frosty come to life, didn't we?
04:36Uh-huh!
04:37Mm-hmm!
04:37We sure did!
04:38You silly children believe everything you see!
04:42When you're grown up, you'll realize that Snowman can't come to life!
04:48But we...
04:49Silly, silly, silly!
04:55Aw, Frosty!
04:57We don't care what grown-ups say!
04:59We know you did come to life!
05:02We know, Frosty!
05:04We just know!
05:06Frosty the Snowman was a joutly, happy soul!
05:11With a corncup pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made out of coal!
05:17Frosty the Snowman is a fairy tale, they say!
05:22He was made a snow, but the children know how he came to life one day!
05:35Now, of course, the hat did belong to Frosty and the children!
05:41That point must be made very clear!
05:44Therefore, Hocus Pocus was entirely in the right in what he was about to do!
05:59Well, Hocus Pocus raced back to the children just as fast as it could!
06:15Look!
06:16The hat's back!
06:17Let's see if it'll make Frosty alive again!
06:29Happy Birthday!
06:31Hey!
06:32I said my first words!
06:35But...
06:36But Snowmen can't talk!
06:39Ha!
06:39Ha!
06:40Ha!
06:40Alright, come on now!
06:42What's the joke?
06:43Could...
06:44Could I really be alive?
06:46I mean, I can make words!
06:48I can move!
06:50I can juggle!
06:52I can sleep!
06:53I can count to ten!
06:56One...
06:57Two...
06:58Three...
06:59Four...
06:59Five...
07:01Nine...
07:01Six...
07:02Eight...
07:03Uh...
07:03Well, I can count to five!
07:06Ha!
07:07Ha!
07:07Ha!
07:07Ha!
07:07Ha!
07:07Ha!
07:08What do you know?
07:08I'm even ticklish!
07:10In fact, I'm all living!
07:13I am alive!
07:15What a neat thing to happen to a nice guy!
07:18Like me!
07:20There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found!
07:25Oh, when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around!
07:32Frosty, the Snowman, was alive as he could be!
07:36And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me!
07:45Uh-oh!
07:47What's the matter, Frosty?
07:50Phew!
07:51Is there a thermometer around here?
07:53Over there on the wall?
07:54Why?
07:59Oh, I was afraid of that!
08:01The thermometer's getting red!
08:03I hate red thermometers!
08:05Why, Frosty?
08:07Because when the thermometer gets all reddish, the temperature goes up!
08:10And when the temperature goes up, I start to melt!
08:14And when I start to melt, I get all wishy-washy!
08:18Then you've got to go someplace where you'll never melt!
08:22The only place I'd never melt is the North Pole!
08:25Then we've got to get you there!
08:27Yeah!
08:28We'll take you downtown to the railroad station!
08:31And put you on a train!
08:33Great!
08:34I always wanted to see the town!
08:37Let's make a party out of it!
08:39Let's have a parade!
08:45Frosty the Snowman
08:47Frosty the Snowman
08:47Knew the sun was hot that day
08:51So he said let's run and we'll have some fun
08:55Now before I melt away
09:19Down to the village
09:23With a broomstick in his hand
09:26Running here and there
09:29All around the square
09:31Saying catch me if you can
09:35Come on kids! Follow the leader!
09:39He let them down the streets up top
09:43Right to the traffic top
09:46And he only paused a moment
09:50When he heard him a holler
09:53Stop!
09:55Stop! Stop! Stop!
09:58Stop!
10:00All right!
10:01Didn't you see that traffic light?
10:03What's a traffic light?
10:05Up there on the lamppost
10:06What's a lamppost?
10:09Oh!
10:10You want a ticket wise guy?
10:12I'd love one!
10:13To the North Pole please!
10:15Huh?
10:15You've got to excuse him sir
10:18You see he just came to life
10:20And he doesn't know much about such things
10:24Oh well okay if he just came to life
10:28Move along!
10:29That silly snowman
10:31Once they come to life they don't know nothing
10:33Come to life!
10:40Come to life!
10:54Come to life!
11:01We'd like a ticket to the North Pole please!
11:05Hmm?
11:05What?
11:06North Pole?
11:07Oh yes ma'am!
11:20Root you by the way of Saskatchewan
11:23Hudson Bay Nome Alaska
11:25The Klondike and Aurora Borealis
11:28Gotta make a change at Nanook of the North there
11:32That'll be three thousand dollars and four cents
11:35Including tax
11:36Oh!
11:37But we don't have any money
11:40No money!
11:46No money!
11:48No ticket!
11:54Now I'll never get to the North Pole
11:57Oh!
11:58Oh!
11:58Frosty!
11:59You just can't know!
12:01Oh!
12:02Karen!
12:02Don't you get all slushy too!
12:08What is it Hocus?
12:10Out the window?
12:13A refrigerated boxcar!
12:16On a train headed North!
12:19You'll be safe there Frosty!
12:22Come on!
12:28It's full of ice cream!
12:30And frozen Christmas cakes!
12:32What a neat way to travel!
12:42Hurry up Frosty!
12:44The train is pulling out!
12:47Are you coming to the North Pole too?
12:49No!
12:49I'm sure my mother won't mind!
12:52As long as I'm home in time for supper!
12:54No!
12:55No!
12:56No!
12:57No!
13:01No!
13:01No!
13:02No!
13:04No!
13:08And he's on the way!
13:12But he waved goodbye, saying, don't cry, I'll be back again someday.
13:18I must get that hat back.
13:21Think nasty, think nasty, think nasty.
13:26He'll be back again someday.
13:37Now, actually, a refrigerated boxcar is a splendid way to travel.
13:43Splendid, that is, if one is a snowman or a furry-coated rabbit.
13:48But for Karen...
13:53Are you cold, Karen?
13:55Now, that's a silly question.
13:57You wouldn't be sneezing if you weren't cold.
14:00Well, just a little.
14:07Frosty realized that Karen had to get out of that car as soon as possible.
14:13So when the little freight train stopped
14:16to let an express full of happy Christmas travelers pass,
14:21Frosty took advantage of the opportunity
14:23and quickly got them all up.
14:30Oh, you tricked me!
14:32No fair!
14:35The only thing Professor Hinkle could do
14:38was make a jump for us.
14:59The only thing he wanted to do was make a jump for us.
15:00Frosty wanted to get as far away as he could before Hinkle woke up.
15:14But the woods to which they traveled
15:17were still bitterly cold.
15:22Hocus, I've got to get Karen all warmed up, or she's a goner.
15:29But I can't make a fire.
15:32Oh, boy.
15:33That's one thing I really can't do.
15:36I guess we just better keep moving until we find someone who can.
15:40Then suddenly they came upon a tiny glint,
15:44which seemed almost magical.
15:47For it was Christmas Eve,
15:49and the woodland animals were all decorating
15:53for their big celebration.
15:55They knew Santa was to come that night,
15:58and they wanted everything to be just right.
16:01Hocus, speak to the animals.
16:04See if they will all pitch in and build a fire for Karen.
16:19The animals were the light of their house,
16:22so they found a spot away from the glint
16:25where the fire wouldn't catch on to the tree.
16:29Soon there was a spark,
16:32and in almost no time,
16:34a splendid fire was crackling away.
16:45Frosty was careful to stay far away from the flames.
16:53Hocus, we've got to find someone
16:55to help Karen get home before she freezes,
16:58and me to the North Pole before I melt.
17:01But who?
17:05No, not the Marines.
17:10No, not the President of the United States.
17:14Oh, they were both swell ideas,
17:16but we've got to find someone nearby.
17:23Yeah, Santa Claus.
17:26That's a great idea.
17:28Why didn't I think of that before?
17:33Hocus, you go back with the animals,
17:36and when Santa comes,
17:37you bring them right here, understand?
17:42Hurry now!
17:51And so Frosty kept a silent vigil,
17:55waiting patiently all through the night
17:57until Santa would arrive.
17:59But suddenly...
18:01Oh, a campfire!
18:04Well, isn't that all snug and comfy?
18:10No!
18:11No, don't!
18:12Now, give me that hat or else.
18:16Or else?
18:17What?
18:18Well, don't bother me with details.
18:20Give me that hat!
18:23Get on my shoulders, Karen.
18:26You see, Frosty,
18:27since he was made of snow and shell
18:30was the fastest belly whopper
18:32in the world.
18:41And old Professor Hinkle
18:43was some far out distance.
18:51And now it was Frosty's good fortune
18:53that right at the bottom of the hill
18:55was a tiny greenhouse
18:57used to grow precious tropical poinsettias
19:02for Christmas.
19:05It's got to be all warm and snug inside
19:07for those Christmas flowers to grow so beautiful.
19:10Let's go in.
19:12Oh, but...
19:13But you will melt.
19:16Just a little.
19:17I'll only stay inside for a minute.
19:20Besides, I've been meaning to take off
19:22a little weight anyway.
19:28I'll stay in here much longer
19:30and I'll really make a splash in the world.
19:42Now I've got you
19:44and the minute you're all melted
19:46the hat will be mine.
19:53Santa had arrived
19:55but was he too late?
20:04Hocus explained the situation to Santa
20:06who, as you know,
20:09speaks a fluent rabbit.
20:12And when they didn't find
20:14Frosty and Karen on the hill
20:15Santa followed Frosty's pad in the snow
20:18to the greenhouse.
20:20But when they got inside
20:23a terrible sight
20:25met their rise.
20:29Oh...
20:31Oh...
20:34Oh...
20:35Oh...
20:35Oh...
20:36Oh...
20:37Oh...
20:38Oh...
20:39Oh...
20:40Oh...
20:41Oh...
20:42Oh...
20:43Oh...
20:43Oh...
20:44Oh...
20:44Oh...
20:44Oh...
20:49Oh...
21:12Oh...
21:14Oh...
21:15Oh...
21:16Oh...
21:18Oh...
21:20Oh...
21:21Don't cry, Karen.
21:23Frosty's not gone for good.
21:25You see,
21:26he was made out of Christmas snow
21:28and Christmas snow
21:30can never disappear completely.
21:32He-he-he.
21:33Oh...
21:34It sometimes goes away
21:36for almost a year at a time
21:38and takes the form
21:39of spring and summer rain.
21:41But you can bet your boots
21:43that when a good
21:45jolly December wind
21:47kisses it...
21:48It'll turn into Christmas snow all over again.
21:52Yes, but he was my friend.
21:58Just watch.
22:11Wait a minute.
22:13I want that hat, and I want it now.
22:17Don't you dare touch that.
22:19And just what are you going to do about it?
22:23If you so much as lay a finger on the brim,
22:26I'll never bring you another Christmas present as long as you live.
22:33Never?
22:34Never.
22:36No more trick cards or magic balls or...
22:42No more anything.
22:44Oh, that's not fair.
22:47I mean, we evil magicians have to make a living, too.
22:52Now you go home and write,
22:55I am very sorry for what I did to Frosty a hundred zillion times.
23:00And then maybe, just maybe, mind you,
23:04you'll find something in your stocking tomorrow morning.
23:07A new hat, maybe?
23:10Oh, yes, sir.
23:12Goodbye, everyone.
23:14Sorry to lose and run,
23:16but I've got to get busy writing.
23:18Busy, busy, busy.
23:24Come on, Frosty.
23:26We're all waiting for you.
23:31Happy birthday!
23:35Frosty the Snowman is a fairy tale, they say.
23:39He was made of snow,
23:41but the children know how he came to life one day.
23:47And so Santa took Karen home
23:50and made ready to bring Frosty back to the North Pole with him.
23:55Oh!
23:57Karen hated to say goodbye to Frosty,
24:00but as Santa promised,
24:03Frosty returned every year with the magical Christmas snow.
24:07And every year there was a great celebration
24:09with a big Christmas parade.
24:16Frosty the Snowman
24:16Zomp-a-gee, zomp, zomp, zomp, zomp, zomp, zomp
24:19Look at that frosty going
24:22Zomp-a-gee, zomp, zomp, zomp, zomp, zomp, zomp
24:24Over the hills of snow
24:28Frosty the Snowman
24:29Was a jolly, happy soul
24:32With a corncup pipe and a button nose
24:35And two eyes made out of coal
24:39And with Frosty the Snowman, Christmas was always very merry indeed.
24:45You have a merry Christmas, too.
24:50Frosty the Snowman had to hurry on his way.
24:55But he waved goodbye, saying, don't you cry.
25:01I'll be back on Christmas Day.
25:09I'll be back on Christmas Day.
