00:08I just want to welcome our great Secretary of State again to India.
00:12We had a phenomenal meeting today with the Prime Minister.
00:16It's a relationship we deeply care about.
00:18It's a relationship that is growing.
00:21Literally today, the Secretary opened a brand new building right here.
00:25So that is a partnership that we are continuing to grow.
00:28We have our Quad meeting.
00:30Since I have arrived here a few months ago, we had settled our trade deal.
00:35India has joined Paxilica.
00:38Investment is at record levels, and this partnership will continue to grow.
00:43And today, the Secretary extended an invite to Prime Minister Modi to come visit the White
00:47House on behalf of the President.
00:49So we have some great things ahead.
00:51SECRETARY KERRY, President of the United States, President of the United States, and it's great
00:52to be here and to see this facility in the embassy and to open a new building that's really going
00:57to make us more efficient in terms of the work we do here, and obviously to thank our locally
01:01employed staff here as well, which are excellent.
01:04And we had a very productive meeting today.
01:06We'll have very productive meetings in this visit.
01:08India is at the cornerstone of how the United States approaches the Indo-Pacific, and not
01:13just through the Quad, but bilaterally.
01:15You see that in the $20 billion of Indian companies invested in the United States.
01:19You see it in their signing up for Paxilica, but you also see it in the other opportunities
01:24we have to explore between two advanced economies.
01:27I know there's a lot of American interest in the corporate side in the United States,
01:32highly skilled laborers, highly skilled workers here, production capabilities, and
01:39vice versa in the United States as well.
01:41So there's just so much for us to work on, and we have a very solid foundation.
01:44I think it's also appropriate, and we'll talk more about this tomorrow, to be here
01:48to celebrate America's 250th anniversary, our 250th birthday, in which the world's oldest
01:54economy in the United States and the world's – sorry, the world's oldest democracy in
01:58the United States and the world's largest democracy here in India are natural partners
02:03now and in the future.
02:04So it's a great relationship already.
02:07It really is.
02:08We do so much together, and there's so much more to do.
02:11And so I hope that this visit continues to add to those areas in which we work together
02:16in a variety of forms and settings and in a variety of sectors and areas.
02:21So thank you for covering this.
02:26Have I what now, I'm sorry?
02:28There may be news later today.
02:29I don't have news for you at this very moment, but there might be some news a little later.
02:33Today there may not be.
02:34I hope there will be, but I'm not sure yet.
02:38The question is about the Iranian issue, and as I said, there's been some progress done,
02:42some progress made.
02:43Even as I speak to you now, there's some work being done.
02:46There is a chance that whether it's later today, tomorrow, in a couple days, we may
02:50have something to say.
02:51But this issue needs to be solved, as the President has said one way or the other.
02:53Iran can never have a nuclear weapon.
02:55The straits need to be open without tolls.
02:58They need to turn over their enriched uranium.
03:00They need to turn over their highly enriched uranium.
03:02That we need to address that issue, we need to address the issue of enrichment.
03:06These are the President's points consistently.
03:08And his preference is always to deal with it in a diplomatic way.
03:11The President's preference is always to solve problems such as these through a negotiated
03:16diplomatic solution.
03:17That's what we're working on right now.
03:19But this problem will be solved, as the President has made clear one way or the other.
03:23We hope it's done through the diplomatic route.
03:26That's what we're working on.
03:27And perhaps there will be something to talk about on that topic while I'm here on this visit
03:30at some point.
03:32Thank you, everybody.
03:34Mr. Secretary, Ambassador Gore, thank you so much.
03:37Enjoy the evening.
