00:003...
00:01Ignition...
00:07We have the buff.
00:14Fitchy downrange.
00:29Booster Raptor, cheaper pressure nominal.
00:37Alright, we are T plus 30 seconds into flight C and 33 out of 33 Raptor 3 engines on Booster
00:44V3.
00:45Ascending over the Gulf now, coming up on maximum aerodynamic pressure.
00:51Booster in ship, avionics power, telemetry nominal.
00:56Systems looking good, we're just passing through the period of maximum dynamic pressure.
01:06A little over a minute into flight now.
01:10Vibrations chilling out here at Star Factory as we continue to watch Starship Flight 12 arc out over the Gulf.
01:18The next major thing coming up is going to be hot staging.
01:23Booster props at substantial.
01:24A reminder, we do what's our version of MECO.
01:27Most engines cut off, so we're going to shut down all but five of the Raptor engines on the booster.
01:35And then after that happens, we're going to ignite the six engines on ship while it is still attached.
01:43We have clamps that hold the two together.
01:46Those are going to retract inside of that hot stage ring.
01:49Kind of protect them.
01:53Looks like we had one of the engines go out still flying on 32 of the Raptor engines.
01:59But again, once we get the hot staging, those six engines on the ship are going to ignite.
02:05We're going to do it in a little bit different of a sequence on version 3.
02:12Essentially, those three RVAC engines will ignite first.
02:15Almost immediately after, just one of those central engines is going to ignite.
02:20And that's going to give the booster a bit of a kick, sending it in a known direction.
02:25Followed shortly after by the other two.
02:32We're through MECO.
02:34Stage separation.
02:43There you go. Successful hot staging separation.
02:49We are not seeing as many booster engines ignite as we expected for boost back.
02:54But we are seeing six good engines lit on ship.
02:59It looks like we just had an early boost back shutdown.
03:02Again, a reminder, the booster was planned to essentially head into the Gulf for a splashdown.
03:08But it has shut its engines down early on into boost back.
03:16And we just see one of the RVACs.
03:20So we're now running on five engines on ship.
03:27We do have engine out capabilities, so it's going to continue into its ascent.
03:34You got booster on the left there, ship on the right.
03:39Ship avionics power and telemetry nominal.
03:41Planning on bringing the booster back for this flight, as this was the very first time.
03:55All right, so about three minutes, 50 seconds into today's flight.
03:59Just a reminder, the ship planned to burn its engines for about eight minutes and change.
04:07About eight minutes and 11 seconds was our planned timeline for today.
04:12That could shift slightly as we do have one engine out running on one fewer RVACs.
04:25Again, continuing to watch, so booster did not complete its boost back burn.
04:29We would not see all of the engines ignite that we expected.
04:36Yeah, you can see the aft flap there making minor corrections.
04:41Starship is turning for final approach to landing site.
04:43Look at that turn.
04:44There we go. Minor corrections and a full turn.
04:50Yeah, Starship doesn't fly like an airplane.
04:53It's a lot more like a skydiver.
04:55Full belly flop on the way down using those flaps similar to arms to help change the path of the
05:03air over you.
05:04Coming up real soon.
05:07Again, going for a landing burn, trying to light two of these Raptor sea level engines.
05:16Passing.
05:17Landing burn startup.
05:18Landing burn startup.
05:21Two engines lit.
05:28Successful flip.
05:35Bowie cam.
05:36Starship is lightning.
05:38Good shot time.
05:44Oh!
05:57Amazing!
06:00That's a lot of fun.
06:04This is the best.
