🙏🏻Who is Siddhartha Gautama?
Siddhartha Gautama, later known as the Buddha (“the Awakened One”), was a spiritual teacher who lived in ancient India around the 5th–6th century BCE. Born as a prince in Lumbini (present-day Nepal), he was raised in luxury and shielded from suffering. However, upon encountering the realities of aging, illness, and death, he renounced his royal life in search of a deeper truth.
After years of intense ascetic practice and meditation, Siddhartha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. In that moment, he realized the nature of suffering (dukkha), its causes, and the path to liberation. He then spent the rest of his life teaching the Dharma—the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path—guiding countless beings toward wisdom, compassion, and inner freedom. His teachings became the foundation of Buddhism, one of the world’s major spiritual traditions.

🙏 The Great Renunciation | The Life of The Buddha | Siddhartha Gautama | 释迦牟尼佛
Lyrics:
Moonlight bleeds through the silk and the stone
A King in the making, but standing alone.
He leans to the pillow, a ghost in the room
To the wife and the child in the jasmine perfume.
One last look at the life he must break
For the sake of the world, for the souls yet to wake.

The shadows are stretching, the silence is loud
He trades in the scepter, he sheds every cloud.
The gate groans open, the iron and rust
A kingdom of gold for a mountain of dust.

Gallop through the starlight, Kānthākā, run!
Away from the moon and away from the sun.
Over the valley where the wild spirits cry
Under the dome of the vast, open sky.
He’s chasing a truth that the walls couldn't hold
Leaving the fire to find out the cold!

Stop at the water... the Anoma flows
Where the prince ends his journey, and the wanderer grows.
