00:14:19it wasn't fine.
00:14:27I went for a screening.
00:14:32And a few biopsies later,
00:14:35they told me the news.
00:14:39I just kind of fell into a chair.
00:14:43And then left in a total daze.

00:14:50What does that mean?
00:14:53It's like the Earth's just on a different axis,
00:14:56or like reality, where's reality gone?
00:14:59Nothing felt real, and yet it couldn't be more real.

00:17:08here the minogue family have been reunited at the family home for one of the most difficult days
00:17:23they've faced intrusion at a level that none of us had experienced we're just wondering if there's
00:17:33any comment on reports that kylie's back in melbourne in normal times news of her disease would have been
00:17:40released several weeks later but because there were concerts due to start here they had to release the
00:17:47details of her illness right away everybody is very hungry for news so we very much are at the
00:17:56ground floor if you like of this disease almost as part of the family

00:18:53take place at cabrini hospital where security has been increased medical staff have been offered a
00:19:01serious amount of money to take photos and i was feeling in the depths of
00:19:11absolute uncertainty and that was just the beginning carly minogue returned home late this afternoon
00:19:20huddled on the back seat and i was so scared of what was ahead of me
00:19:35but thankfully i had my family it's so hypnotizing isn't it yeah
00:19:42whoa that's cool right what did they say nothing no matter what happens i know my brother sister and
00:19:52my mom and dad will always be there for me so 26 hours we're there for each other

00:23:53but my dad really didn't want me to go like i can only imagine as a parent your instinct to
00:24:00want to protect your child
00:24:07especially in that moment but i said i've just i've got to go
00:24:14and that was really hard
00:24:28but my mom came with me so there's someone keeping an eye on me
00:24:37and that was such a blessing
00:24:59so here we can see the cancer which you can't see on the normal image
00:25:05here we can see the spread to the lymph nodes and these i was in and out of hospital we
00:25:12can do a local
00:25:13or wide excision chemotherapy simple or radical radiotherapy and facing a long journey
00:25:25and i've been so self-conscious about losing my hair
00:25:30and so first i cut it
00:25:33and it's just like you hear about
00:25:39clumps there's no other way to say clumps come out so i buzz cut the whole thing
00:25:49how did i feel that was the least of my worries at that point in time
00:25:57i remember the pain just to get down the street was a real achievement
00:26:05i felt removed from my body
00:26:09removed from the world
00:26:14and yeah the mind goes to really dark places the chemotherapy was so hard
00:26:24physically mentally and you've met my sister she's tiny
00:26:35i remember mom calling me she's like we're in icu again she can't feel her fingers
00:26:40and i'm not allowed to go in the room
00:26:44we didn't know if she's ever going to be well again
00:26:55it was that bad like is she going to live through this

00:29:45or the day i would put some make a little bit of makeup on was like a big a big
00:29:52deal
00:29:54but it was so thrilling
00:29:56i'm like yep let's put diamonds on
00:30:10it's the first time we've seen kylie headscarf free
00:30:18and when i got out of the danger zone there was still a long way to go
00:30:29but i just wanted to be with my sister
