00:04The Fios Digital Video Recorder, or DVR, puts you in control of your television experience,
00:11allowing you to watch what you want, when you want it, using your Fios Universal Remote Control.
00:18The first part of this video shows you how to use your remote to control what you are watching using
00:23your DVR.
00:24The second part shows you how to record and manage your schedule of automatic recordings.
00:32The Fios DVR allows you to pause and rewind live TV.
00:37It's an entirely new way to enjoy watching television.
00:41At any time, press pause to freeze the program you are currently watching.
00:46Rewind can take you to an earlier point in the show, back to when you first tuned into the channel.
00:52Press play to resume watching from any point in the show.
00:55Whenever you control the video, the progress bar shows where you are within the current show.
01:01While watching recorded programs, use the play, pause, stop, record, rewind, and fast forward buttons, just like you do on
01:10a VCR or DVD player.
01:11Press the fast forward or rewind buttons more than once to change speeds.
01:17Press play to resume to normal speed.
01:20Press replay for an instant replay of the last several seconds of the show you are watching.
01:26Press skip forward to jump ahead a few seconds in the program.
01:31If you have paused or rewound television and you wish to get back to live TV, simply press the live
01:37TV or Fios TV button on your remote,
01:40and you will see what everyone without a DVR is seeing on that channel.
01:49Now let's discuss how to record shows.
01:51To record a show that you are currently watching, press record on the remote.
01:56The record indicator on your screen's status bar will show that recording has started.
02:01The DVR will record the program from the time you actually tuned in.
02:05To record an upcoming program, go to the program guide.
02:09Use the arrow keys to select the show you want to record.
02:13Then press record.
02:15Next to the program title, you will see a scheduled to record icon.
02:21If you want to record every episode of a show that is a daily or weekly series, press record a
02:27second time.
02:28You will see a prompt to record series or cancel.
02:31Select record series and you will see a record multiple shows icon next to the program title that indicates that
02:38series recording has been scheduled.
02:40To cancel the recording from the guide, press OK on the show and select cancel on the options menu.
02:51Use the DVR main menu to view and delete recordings, as well as change your schedule.
02:57To get there, press menu on the remote control and then DVR, or press the DVR button on the remote.
03:03Highlight the program you want to watch, press OK to select it, and then select Play.
03:09Adam, we've got a really great story here. This is just the key.
03:12To delete a program from the list, highlight it and press OK to select it, then select Remove.
03:18A confirmation dialog will be displayed.
03:24To review or change your scheduled series recordings, select Series Manager from the menu on the left.
03:31To change the priority of a series, select it and press OK.
03:36Then select Change Priority.
03:39Use your arrow keys to move the series up or down.
03:43The higher up in the list, the higher the priority of the series.
03:47Specifying the priority will help in case there are any schedule conflicts.
03:52To cancel a series, select it to see the options menu.
03:55Then select Cancel Series.
03:58You will then see a confirmation screen.
04:00Select Yes, Cancel, and press OK.
04:05To change the options of a series, select it and press OK.
04:09Then select Modify Series.
04:11You will see a configuration dialog that lets you select which episodes to record,
04:16how many episodes to keep, whether to adjust the start and end times of the recordings,
04:21and even whether to record on the channel you selected or all channels that broadcast this show.
04:30To see a schedule of what the DVR will record, you can use the View Schedule feature.
04:35It allows you to see upcoming shows that will be recorded, as well as shows that might not be recorded
04:41because of a conflict.
04:43If there are shows that are not recording because of a scheduling conflict, they will display a warning icon.
04:49To fix a conflict, select the show and press OK.
04:52Then select Schedule again.
04:54A dialog box will display the shows that are conflicting.
04:58Choose the show that you want to cancel and press OK.
05:01The schedule will update with your changes.
05:04Please keep in mind that your DVR automatically deletes older recordings to make room for new ones when full.
05:10Also, high-definition programs use more space.
05:14Programs that have already been watched will display the watched icon.
05:19Programs that are soon to be deleted will display the expiring icon.
05:23To keep a program until you watch and delete it, change the Protect setting for that program.
05:31Protected shows will display a protected icon.
05:34To see how much DVR space you have used or have remaining,
05:38select the Recorder status option.
05:41It will display how much HD and normal video you have recorded,
05:45as well as how much time you have left for recording either format.
