Tabatha runs a horse place in rural South Dakota like it’s held together by stubbornness and duct tape. She rescues horses, then flips them for a future that actually looks like rent money. And yeah, she’s tattooed and rebellious, because of course she is.

Then her husband dies, and the movie gets less “cowgirl hustle” and more “okay, now what?” Financial uncertainty shows up fast. Grief sticks around longer. Her teenage daughter, Porshia, is there too, doing that classic teen thing where everything feels urgent. And on top of it, a handful of local kids without a clear plan move in, turning the ranch into a weird, loyal patchwork community.
