00:00I'm so thankful for all the opportunities that I've gotten from the U.S. youth national team since U15 all
00:07the way up to the U20.
00:09So thankful for all the coaches and the players that have been on this journey with me.
00:15Now, I was always pushing to be on the U.S. national team.
00:18That was always on my radar.
00:21But sometimes you just have to think about the big picture and think about the long-term goals that you
00:29set for yourself.
00:30And I really felt that with the Cape Verdean national team, they welcomed me in with open arms.
00:37They were very warm and very welcoming when I was with them.
00:40So I think it's just a great opportunity for me for my short-term and long-term goals.
00:46Unfortunately, my grandfather, he passed away back in 2016.
00:51And these were the types of things that he would tell me about playing at a professional level.
00:58And hopefully being blessed enough to play at a high level.
01:02So I'm just, I wish that he was here to see me and to see this opportunity that I have.
01:08And, you know, everybody's very happy for me.
01:11And, you know, especially for my grandmother as well, being Cape Verdean, all the aunts and uncles and family and
01:17stuff like that.
01:17All my cousins back in the Cape Verde Islands as well.
01:20Everybody's so happy for me and nothing but love for them as well.
01:24I mean, they're amazing teams with amazing players, but we're also a great team with great players.
01:30So we're going to do our absolute best and hopefully everything goes well and the games go well and hopefully
01:37we can get some great results.
