MEET the Sherp ATV – an amphibious vehicle that can tear through ice, mud and deep water. The all-terrain ATV is built to tackle conditions that other off-road vehicles can’t handle. The Sherp can travel through extreme and remote areas in the harshest of weather. Powered by a Kubota V150T engine and weighing 3,527lbs, the Sherp is equally at home on land or in water.

00:00The SHERP can cross swamps, water, it's fully amphibious, it's made for really, really
00:06remote areas, it can get you pretty much anywhere.
00:23The SHERP is the ultimate go-anywhere ATV, built to tackle terrain.
00:28The other off-road vehicles just can't handle.
00:32The idea comes from Russia.
00:35We have a recreational market for sure, but this vehicle was made to do your job.
00:40It's not a toy.
00:42The SHERP has been used with many commercial applications such as mining, exploration,
00:47geology, surveying, hydro, pipelines.
00:51Eight years ago, the team at SHERP decided to put their years of all-terrain vehicle
00:55construction experience into an exciting new project.
00:59In 2012, that was a prototype.
01:02After that, they started the mass production in 2015.
01:05Since 2017, we sold over 200 units in North America, and we have six dealers in Canada
01:13so far and 15 in the US.
01:15The SHERP is built in Ukraine, and we assembled it here in Canada.
01:20Powered by a Kubota engine, and weighing in at 3,527 pounds, the SHERP is equally at home
01:28on land or water.
01:29The SHERP can cross swamps, water, it's fully amphibious.
01:34Any type of weather can get you pretty much anywhere.
01:37And it has a neat trick to handle different terrain.
01:41The main thing about the SHERP is the tires.
01:44The tires are self-inflated with the exhaust, which allows you to control the pressure.
01:48You can deflate and inflate it within 30 to 40 seconds, all the way down and all the
01:52way up.
01:54Depends on what you want to cross.
01:57If you want to inflate the tires with the exhaust, you just close the valve, hit the right
02:01button, use the gas, and the exhaust going right into the tires.
02:05All four wheels, even.
02:10And if you need to go long distance, the vehicle has a pretty impressive fuel capacity.
02:16In each tire, you've got the additional fuel tank.
02:20If you need to work in really remote areas with no gas stations, with no civilisation, it
02:26could fit up to 55 litres per one tire.
02:29So, in total, it gives you around 280 to 285 litres.
02:34The whole unit, including the main tank.
02:37If you fill up, it allows you to go 3,000 kilometres.
02:40It could fit up to four people in the back with comfort.
02:43But in an emergency rescue situation, you can fit up to six or eight people in the back.
02:48With 44.3 horsepower, a top speed of 24.5 miles per hour on dry land, and 3.7 on
02:57water, the
02:58Sherp isn't going to break any speed records, but it will take you just about anywhere.
03:04Yeah.
03:04It was not made for the highways, for just a regular road.
03:08It was made mostly for commercial use, for those companies and people who have some need
03:13to use that type of equipment in really, really remote areas and top terrains where just any
03:20regular ATVs or any other equipment cannot do.
03:22Oh, it feels amazing, especially when you're going from the ice to the water.
03:28A standard version of Sherp is 107,000 US dollars.
03:34Very favourite thing about the Sherp is the tires.
03:37I love the tires.
03:38We've been in situations where we thought, this is it, this is over.
03:43This is where we cannot cross.
03:45But the Sherp has never got stopped.
03:47When you're struggling to cross this particular terrain, Sherp will get you where you want
03:54to go.
