00:00What I can say is that we are fully supportive of the diplomatic track, because we want to protect the
00:05people of the region from being, you know, basically the main losers of any escalation in the region, but also
00:15we are supportive of the diplomatic effort by Pakistan that has shown seriousness in bringing the parties together and in
00:23finding a solution, and we do believe that it needs more time.
00:26But right now we are monitoring the situation, we are in contact with all our partners in the region and
00:33beyond to support this mediation, and of course we are always hopeful that this mediation would lead to the end
00:39of escalation in the region, but I don't think anybody right now can characterize that as being either pessimistic or
00:46optimistic about the result.
00:46The freedom of navigation is legally our right, it's the right of the state of Qatar and all countries that
00:53are living in part of this region, and therefore we have always stressed the importance of opening the states and
01:01not changing the status quo over there,
01:04and for any procedures to be introduced that go against international maritime law, it's something that we do not accept,
01:16and nor should the international community accept as a new status quo in the region.
