00:40y siempre atrae mejores jugadores y mejores jugadores.
00:43¿Cuáles son las expectativas de lo que ocurre en estos dos tiempos?
00:48¿Puedes seguir involucrado con el primer equipo?
00:51No, no.
01:09No, no.
01:20para finalizar.
01:23Lévi Colwell ha empezado dos dos matches,
01:26sus dos principios principales.
01:27Así que, ¿y es probable que gobieras pronto,
01:32Sí, sí, sí, sí, sí, sí.
02:00Yeah, we're very, very focused, we want to, we need to win the next two games to give ourselves the
02:05best chance to finish as high up in the league as possible and get European football. That is our only
02:11focus in doing our job and putting in the performance we need to beat a good side.
02:16Gracias.
02:17Gracias.
02:18Siriah.
02:19Hi, Perlman.
02:21Obviously, as mentioned, last home game of the season, Battle of the Bridge, everyone
02:24was looking forward to it against Spurs.
02:25How have you found your time as being interim?
02:28It's going to be the last time you step out of Stamford Bridge in this role.
02:32What have you learned about yourself as a manager and about the squad as a new chapter
02:35starts?
02:36I've enjoyed the challenge, I've enjoyed the pressure.
02:40It's easier when you win games rather than losing games but, yeah, I've enjoyed it.
02:45And we're ready for the game tomorrow.
02:49Just touching back on Levi Cowell.
02:50Obviously, as you said, very serious injury but he's even come back and looked slightly
02:55better than he did previously.
02:56Sharp, fast, added that different bit of dimension and momentum to the game.
03:01When it comes to how he's managed that in the process, how has it been for you as an interim
03:06manager when you haven't really had a defender that can break the lines, push the ball up
03:11the pitch like we saw against Manchester City?
03:13Yeah, it's been great to have Levi back.
03:16Great for English football as well.
03:18I think we've got a really, really talented, really high potential player here.
03:22And injuries are a part of it and he's shown really good mental strength and character to
03:25come through that and perform away at Anfield and in an FA Cup final.
03:30So, yeah, really, really excited about Levi.
03:33He's added a lot to the team, not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well.
03:36So, it's been a brilliant two games for him and hopefully he can finish the season strong.
03:40And lastly, you said after the final, we know what this team is capable of but they need to produce
03:44on a consistent basis.
03:46Is that just a genuine need for more time for this squad under the next manager that's going to come
03:51in?
03:52Or is there actual specific key things that you've seen yourself and it's like there's gaps?
03:58Yeah, it's hard in such a small sample size to make that call.
04:02I think when I say that we've seen what they're capable of and they need to do it in a
04:05more consistent basis,
04:07I felt like with all the injuries we've got in our squad, we went toe-to-toe with Man City
04:11and it was an even game.
04:13It was a 50-50 game in my opinion.
04:14So Menyo decided the game with a bit of quality but there was other instances where that could have been
04:19a Chelsea player that decides that game.
04:21I think that shows the level of this group, the quality of this group.
04:24And we haven't done it on a consistent basis otherwise we wouldn't be where we are in the league.
04:29But there's also been a lot of change. There's also been a lot that's gone on at the club that
04:33it's not my place to say what's right or wrong
04:36but that can affect momentum, that can affect the group.
04:40But when this group is at their best, I think we're up there with anyone in Europe.
04:43So how do we produce that on a more consistent basis?
04:47That's what we'll be looking at at the end of the season.
04:49That's what we'll be trying to help the group with.
04:51And also they have to want to produce that and they're capable of doing that.
04:54But for now it's two games left to get six points hopefully and push up the table as far as
04:59we can.
05:00Thank you, cheers.
05:03You mentioned injuries there. I just wondered, there's a few players not in your squad in the last few weeks.
05:08Benoit Badia-Shile, Mamadou Saar and Romeo Olavia. I just wanted to know if there's any update with those three.
05:15Yeah, Romeo took a slight knock in the build-up to the game. Nothing major but with Romeo we just
05:21don't want to take that.
05:22I didn't want to take that risk, we don't want to take that risk. I thought he was brilliant in
05:27the games that he did play and he gave us a lot the same way Levi did.
05:29But we just have to be careful with players that have had injury history.
05:33And I was asking about Mamadou Saar and Badia-Shile as well.
05:37Yeah, they didn't make the squad. They're training really well, training really hard.
05:41We can use them in the next two games potentially, but we've got a lot of players in those positions.
05:46So you want to make sure you've got the right balance on your bench, but nothing to report with those
05:50two.
05:51And with Jaar Pedro and Rhys James, are they going to be subject to a bit of load management?
05:54I only say Jaar Pedro because he looked a bit tired at the end when he came off. He did
05:58a lot of running, didn't he?
05:59Yeah, with all the players we have to see how they come back in today.
06:03They were in yesterday, hopefully it's positive signs today when they report and when they train they feel good
06:09and we'll make a decision on that as late as we possibly can.
06:13Last question, as a sort of Londoner who your family are Chelsea fans and stuff like that,
06:18you'll know the importance of a Chelsea vs Tottenham game, especially at Stamford Bridge and the record that Chelsea have.
06:24Do you think the players understand that though? And are you going to do anything to make sure the players
06:29are up for it
06:30and maybe tap into that rivalry and that aggression that they can show on that pitch?
06:35I think the players have shown in the last two games that their fight and their heart has been questioned
06:39at times.
06:40I think they've shown in the last two games that for me that's not an issue.
06:44Everyone knows the rival between Chelsea and Tottenham, but ultimately both teams have got a lot to play for.
06:48So I don't think we're going to have to do anything extra special to motivate the lads.
06:53We need six points from our next two games. I think they need a point to almost guarantee safety.
07:00So both teams are fighting at different parts of the table, but both teams are fighting for the point.
07:05So we shouldn't need to add any extra motivation, but it will naturally be there with a London derby between
07:10Chelsea and Tottenham.
07:15Have you spoken to Alonso at all since the appointment?
07:22He sent me a text message yesterday. I'll keep that private, but mainly just around the final.
07:28So I've had a brief conversation with him via text.
07:31And are you going to be part of his backroom staff next season?
07:36I don't know at this moment in time. Our focus and those discussions haven't really been had.
07:41We've got a lot to prepare for with the cup final last week and two massive games coming up.
07:46So that's where all our focus is.
07:48And whilst I appreciate the focus of these two games, have you noticed a buzz around the players?
07:54Are they talking about? Because Alonso is a bit of a coup for the club to get him.
07:59Have you detected that they're excited about his arrival?
08:02Yeah, everyone. I think everyone at the club's excited. Like I said, a great coach.
08:07Has had a really good career so far. Won major trophies. Great playing career.
08:11We'll have a lot of respect from everyone and it's a really exciting appointment from the club.
08:17We'll finish with Martin.
08:19Hi Callum. Just one question. We saw a Chelsea long throw at Wembley and you nearly scored from it.
08:26Does that suggest that in the next couple of games we might see a few more?
08:31Potentially. But it was actually Bernardo, the set-piece coach, who does a great job.
08:34Who came up with the idea and saw a weakness that he felt that we could expose and we were
08:38unlucky that we didn't.
08:41Anything to win football games.
08:42I think he's the first one for about four seasons.
08:44Is it really? Not bad.
08:47You'll get one or two coming in from Kevin Danso.
08:49I'm sure. It seems to be the theme in the Premier League at the moment.
08:53So, thank you.
