00:00In the corner to my right, from Dallas, Texas, weighing 241 pounds, Scott Casey.
00:12And his opponent, making his way to the ring area,
00:16formerly of the Department of Correction at Cobb County, Georgia,
00:20weighing 380 pounds, The Big Boss Man.
00:28Well, hello, everyone. I'm Sean Mooney.
00:31Alongside me here at Milwaukee County Stadium is Lord Alfred Hayes.
00:35And, Alfred, you talk about a capacity crowd.
00:38Yes.
00:39Look at all the people here.
00:41I hope they don't push us up into the ring with those two.
00:44Especially with The Big Boss Man, the size of him, he's awesome.
00:47Did you see him making his way to the ring with the security around him?
00:51I guess you'd call him head of security.
00:53Yeah.
00:53I don't think he needed much security around him.
00:56Look at him.
00:57What an imposing man he is.
01:00And, incidentally, we've had news now that he has authority to wear that uniform in the ring,
01:06but he must remove the sheriff's badge or whatever that star,
01:10whatever justice, or whatever you would call it.
01:13Well, we see him there removing the handcuffs.
01:16He still has that nightstick.
01:19And that is being handed to someone ringside.
01:22And he is removing the star.
01:24That could do some damage.
01:26Definitely.
01:36There's a beautiful shot of all these people here, thousands upon thousands.
01:40And this is a giant stadium as well.
01:43This is a huge stadium.
01:45Oh, and a nice day to be here, too, Alfred.
01:47Get some sun.
01:49Better watch that forehead.
01:51I think I'll get a touch of sunstroke.
01:53Yeah, they're sizing each other up here.
01:56The big boss man to face Scott Casey.
01:59And we're underway.
02:02The big boss man displaying his power right there,
02:06shoving Scott Casey across the ring into the ropes.
02:10Oh, and he missed there, Alfred.
02:12Yes, well, Scott Casey is a very, very fast wrestler.
02:15He's been around quite some time.
02:17And as a matter of fact, some time ago,
02:20he and I tag teamed together down in Texas.
02:23And we sort of waged war on other teams
02:28in the southern part of the United States.
02:31And we won a person to Mexico.
02:33We did very well together.
02:34I know from personal experience that Scott Casey
02:37is a very competent wrestler.
02:38Well, he's showing that right here,
02:40but the big boss man,
02:42he finally sent him out of the ring.
02:44And he walked right into a blow.
02:46And Scott Casey, he came right back off the ropes.
02:49And now working on the left arm
02:51of the big boss man twisting away.
02:53Dropping him right down to his knees.
02:57Once again.
03:01Good moves there by Casey.
03:03Hanging in with that arm ringer.
03:05But this man is so huge,
03:06it does seem that he could be
03:08impervious almost a punishment.
03:10Look at that.
03:11He misses with a clothesline.
03:12It comes back off the ropes,
03:13into the arms of the big boss man,
03:16with a back breaker across the knee.
03:20Man, he's got Casey on the mat.
03:24He took a nasty, nasty blow there from the big boss man.
03:28And now suffering one of several blows from the knee of the big boss man.
03:32His full weight coming down in the back of Scott Casey as he tries to make his way to his
03:37feet.
03:38The referee now going as close as he dare to becoming disqualified.
03:43He's watching this referee most intently.
03:45I don't believe he's gonna do this.
03:48Right down in the second rope, the full weight of the big boss man on the back of the neck
03:52of Scott Casey.
03:53And he's down once again.
03:58You know after it is only one week away to the big boss man will meet the Birdman.
04:05Coco beware at SummerSlam 88.
04:07Yes, and he's going to have his work cut out there because I've seen this man make good
04:12moves on him already, Casey that is, and Coco is a little bit faster than Casey.
04:17So that's right there, the boss man with a headbutt to the forehead of Scott Casey.
04:24He's leaning back on the top rope.
04:26And I was saying, Sean, if he can't deal with speed moves,
04:30he's really going to be bamboozled by Coco beware because that is his forte.
04:34He is so high flying.
04:37A nice flying drop kick may have its effect on the big boss man, that's for sure.
04:41He trapped Casey nicely with that bear.
04:46And you can see the grimace on Scott Casey's face.
04:50His big boss to that bear hug tries to get him to release with an ear clap.
04:56And again, if you can get those biceps right over the earlobes,
05:01they'll put air pressure into your ears and boy, does that ever make your head spin.
05:07He's gonna have to do something because if he doesn't break this grip,
05:11it will soon be over.
05:12Yes, Casey did that last one very well.
05:15I noticed that both his arms were completely over the ears of the big boss man,
05:20so that would have made him shake a little bit better.
05:23Well, but I guess he had to do what he had to do right there,
05:26biting the nose of the big boss man.
05:28And it worked.
05:42And that didn't last long.
05:44He sends him into the corner and across the ring, right into the boot of Scott Casey.
05:53And the big boss man staggering.
05:56Yes, he's teetering and tuckering, but he still hasn't gone down.
05:59He made a double axe handle.
06:01I don't know whether that's a good thing or not, so Sean, maybe he should have gone down there.
06:07What a beautiful move by the big boss man.
06:10We've seen that before, Alfred, right into the arms of the big boss man.
06:14He waited for him off the ropes and slammed him down onto the canvas.
06:20Down for the three count.
06:24Let's get the official word on this one, Alfred.
06:28The winner of this bout, the big boss man.
06:33Well, he certainly made short work of Casey there.
06:35Casey was moving quite well.
06:37He had that sleeper hold on him, but couldn't effectively put it through, execute it.
06:43And then Casey came with what he thought was a good tackle from the ropes.
06:47Well, Ken Patera wasting no time before going after Dino Bravo.
06:52Didn't even let him get his jacket off.
06:55And there is some bad blood between these two superstars.
06:59Yes, there is.
07:00Ken Patera, former Olympic champion, Panamerica game champion, world champion.
07:05And the man is aggressive, the man's on top of Dino Bravo.
07:08Brother, I'll tell you, he's out for the kill right now.
07:12Backdrop sends Dino Bravo to the Matt Hart.
07:16Ken Patera, delivering one blow after another.
07:23Has him on the apron.
07:26The forearm across the throat.
07:29And again, Patera's fired up.
07:33I've never seen him this fired up, Lord.
07:35Well, he's not making my prediction look too good at the moment, is he?
07:39Patera's really destroying Bravo.
07:41Yes, he is at this time, but Bravo's smart enough to bail out and take a hike,
07:46go to higher ground, think things over, and regroup.
07:49But Patera's right out there after him.
07:52And sending him back into the ring.
07:54And that's smart, Lord Alfred Hayes, not giving him a chance to regroup,
07:57to get his act back together, man.
07:59Stay on top of your man.
08:00God can't get him.
08:01Well, he's doing just that.
08:05That is until now, of course.
08:08An atomic trap.
08:11Reverse atomic trap by Dino Bravo.
08:13And Patera is down now.
08:16A great flying leap there by Bravo's pulling back into this match.
08:22Choking Ken Patera here.
08:26One of the assets you need, of course, to become a champion is the ability to
08:31absorb a lot of punishment at the beginning of a match and make a comeback.
08:35Dig down into those reserves of energy, strength, and courage, and make that comeback.
08:40And it looks like Bravo is beginning to do that now.
08:43That's now Patera who is out of the ring.
08:47And Dino Bravo delivers a blow to the head.
08:51I'm surprised Bravo didn't follow Patera out there and possibly run his head right into that
08:56railing because he is an aggressive, vicious wrestler.
09:01And I'm really surprised he's not out there on the floor with Patera.
09:05What do you think, Superstar, that he's giving himself a little more recovery time in the ring?
09:10Possibly Lord Alfred Hayes.
09:11That's a very good point because he did take quite a team at the beginning of this
09:15match.
09:16You're acting so wisely staying.
09:18He's made a tremendous comeback here.
09:21But Patera reverses and follows it up with a close line.
09:24That's a great close line.
09:26Whoa.
09:26Taking Bravo right off his feet.
09:28Get off, boy.
09:29What a punch in the world's line.
09:30Telling him to get up.
09:31Get off, no.
09:34And a kick to the sternum and blows to the head.
09:38Stands him across the ring into the ropes.
09:41Tremendous elbow, Sean Moody, and he just dropped another one on him.
09:45Close for the cover, but only gets two.
09:46Yeah, and he didn't hook a leg, but there's a small package.
09:49Well, he's got a nice couple there.
09:51Only the raw strength of Bravo could force himself out of that.
09:56Well, Patera felt that there was three.
09:59Patera's going in for the kill.
10:00He really is.
10:01He's doing anything.
10:04What a close line right there by Dino Bravo.
10:08Right in the sideways with a side suplex.
10:11That's a move.
10:12Close the leg.
10:13Oh.
10:15Hold on.
10:16It's up there.
10:19Well, this one is underway.
10:21And there's a surprise right there.
10:23Poffo taking the aggressive action against the Neidhart.
10:27Poffo's going to pin him already.
10:29Oh, and he does a backflip right off the top rope there.
10:32On to the knees of Jim Neidhart, who was waiting for him.
10:36I thought that was a little premature by Poffo.
10:39And you can hear that creaking laughter.
10:42That cackle.
10:44It's a cackle.
10:45Jim Neidhart.
10:45Yeah, Neidhart is an incredible.
10:47You know, he's played with four or five different pro football teams.
10:51And he made the statement that pro football was not tough enough for him.
10:55That's why he went into professional wrestling.
10:57Can you imagine that?
10:58Well, I can believe that looking at Neidhart.
11:01He is such a powerful 300-pounder.
11:04And yes, the haircut, I noticed that.
11:08Isn't that awesome?
11:11That haircut looks like he just went into the Marines.
11:15I think he got a little carried away with a razor this morning.
11:17He just went a little too far above the ears.
11:19Oh, he's in a nasty mood here.
11:21Look at this.
11:23He's biting Poffo.
11:25And I tell you, Neidhart probably,
11:29he's trying to take his vengeance out on Poffo.
11:32And he's doing it well, believe me.
11:34As you've just seen, two devastating rights dropping Poffo.
11:40I'm starting to feel sorry for Poffo about now.
11:42Well, he's fighting back, though.
11:45Series of blows from Poffo.
11:47Tends Neidhart back against the rope, but Neidhart reverses.
11:51Oh, turns him over, going for the sunset flip, but can't get it.
11:55Just a little too much weight for Poffo to drag back there.
11:59That's right, Lord Alfred Hayes, too much body weight to pull over.
12:01Good, good assessment.
12:04Neidhart takes Poffo into the corner and shoulder blocks.
12:09Poffo's beginning to look a bit like a rag doll about now.
12:12Yes.
12:12Uh, the anvil is mauling him, brother.
12:15He, that's exactly what he's doing, mauling him.
12:17And Poffo is on rubbery legs.
12:19He's looking a lot weak, weaker than he did a few moments ago.
12:25I think Neidhart is the turnbuckle.
12:28I think Neidhart is envisioning Poffo as Bad News Brown or something here.
12:31He's getting set, comes with that tackle block, but telegraphed it too much.
12:37Poffo getting out of the way.
12:40And that's given Poffo renewed hope.
12:42He's hitting him as hard as he can, but I don't think there's too much behind those blows.
12:47Well, Neidhart, obviously there wasn't.
12:50Nice power slam.
12:54Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, there you see the Macho Man going after Virgil,
12:58and turning his back on the Million Dollar Man.
13:02Ted DiBiase went right after him.
13:04One, two.
13:06Throwing the champion back into the ring.
13:11I'm afraid there, Sean, the champion Randy Macho Man
13:16Savage allowed his attention to be diverted.
13:19And that's exactly what Ted DiBiase wanted and needed to get the edge.
13:26Smashing elbow right there, dropping the champion.
13:30And I think you're exactly right there, Alfred.
13:34He knew that if he went over after Elizabeth,
13:38the champion would not stay along, stay too far away.
13:42That DiBiase sends him into the ropes, misses with the clothesline there.
13:46And the Macho Man comes back with a big one of his own.
13:54All right, into the turnbuckle.
13:56And an elbow to the jaw of the Million Dollar Man.
14:01Shot to the midsection.
14:03And a knee sends the Million Dollar Man right over the second rope there onto the arena floor.
14:10He has some Virgil trying to get himself into the picture there, distracting the referee,
14:14and at the same time distracting the champion, Randy Macho Man Savage.
14:20And once again, Virgil has proved his worth as a bodyguard to Ted DiBiase
14:26by enhancing his chances to beat the champion, Macho Man Savage.
14:33Right there, the Million Dollar Man had his attention diverted and paid for it.
14:43Right here, the Macho Man has the foot.
14:47The Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase, sends him up high.
14:53Drops him down.
14:55That atomic drop sends a Million Dollar Man right over the top rope.
15:00And right at this moment, Sean, the Macho Man looking really good.
15:05Looking really well, very, very sharp, very alert.
15:07He's obviously put in a lot of overtime in the gymnasium to get himself in such fine fabric for this
15:14match.
15:15Well, Alfred, do you think the plan of the Million Dollar Man and the bodyguard,
15:20Virgil, may have backfired on him?
15:22Trying to fire him up going after Elizabeth.
15:24It seems to have at the moment.
15:26Elizabeth is, she's not showing any concern at all.
15:30So she's very much closer to the ringside than we are, Sean.
15:34And she can see that her man is doing really well.
15:37But you must never, ever, ever allow your attention to be diverted for one instant.
15:44Especially when you're dealing with a man like Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase,
15:47as we are seeing right now.
15:52DiBiase can quickly switch and turn those tables upon you.
15:56It doesn't take him long.
15:58Time to go for the sunset flip here.
16:00The Macho Man fights him off and delivers a smashing blow to the forehead of Ted DiBiase.
16:07There with the clothesline.
16:10And has Ted DiBiase had enough?
16:15This is a leverage move right there, grabbing
16:19the tights of the Macho Man and sending him right out of the ring.
16:24Yes, he did.
16:25A questionable tactic there, Alfred.
16:26Yes, he moved so quickly.
16:28Macho Man was very, very quick coming in with that clothesline.
16:31But DiBiase was even quicker when he poured him out there by his trunks.
16:36And it was a leverage move, combined with good, good timing.
16:42The Million Dollar Man smashing the Macho Man's head on the
16:47table that holds the bell.
16:50Twice, in fact.
16:54How quickly these matches can turn because just moments ago,
16:59Savage was in full command of this match.
17:02And again, we saw Elizabeth right there trying to come to the aid of the Macho Man,
17:06Franny Savage, but she is pretty much helpless at this point.
17:10Yes, and DiBiase had to get back into the ring then quickly to stop the referee's count.
17:15Otherwise, it looked as if both men might have been counted out.
17:18And that wouldn't have helped the cause of Ted DiBiase one iota.
17:23They could hear this crowd here, a spectacular crowd at Milwaukee County Stadium for this matchup.
17:34Yes, they were all on their feet there, Sean, trying to get their vocal backing behind
17:38Macho Man, urging him to reach down for a little bit extra.
17:42But at the moment, it is not there.
17:46Macho Man down, the Million Dollar Man going for the cover, but can only get two.
17:52Do you see the way he came off those ropes, Alfred?
17:55Yes.
17:56Macho Man really slingshotted off those ropes into a clothesline.
18:03Very dangerous.
18:04Good reserves of strength being shown there by Savage, because he has taken quite a thrashing,
18:12quite a pace in his last two or three minutes, and yet he was able to bring that out.
18:16Oh, it's a good reverse.
18:17Double reverse.
18:20That shows...
18:21Macho Man Randy Savage runs right into the boot as he charges after Ted DiBiase.
18:26And that shows just how good DiBiase is, because he waited for that.
18:29He knew, possibly, that that double reverse was coming.
18:33He is such a clever, clever wrestler.
18:37It is easy to understand why he is a top contender for the championship.
18:42Yes, we had a good over-the-shoulder view there from Elizabeth and then from Virgil,
18:46showing both sides of this match.
18:50That DiBiase going up, up on the second rope.
18:54Macho Man's back turned.
18:57Double elbow smash to the top of the head of Macho Man Randy Savage.
19:02And he is down.
19:04He is, and the timing of the challenger...
19:08Goes for the cover once again here, Alfred.
19:11Oh, it's really close.
19:13The timing of the challenger is so good.
19:16He's split second time.
19:17Look at...
19:18Now there's that anguished look upon the face of Elizabeth.
19:21Now she's worried.
19:24Back, Baker, Cricker across the knee.
19:26Goes for another cover.
19:27He is hooking the leg, Alfred.
19:29Yes, he's doing everything right.
19:31It's all textbook wrestling, but...
19:34That's why Ron Randy is the champion.
19:36He is so good.
19:38Elizabeth urging her man now.
19:43Setting him up here for the suplex.
19:46Macho Man hooks a leg.
19:49And turns a table.
19:53And it is the Million Dollar Man who's on the receiving end of that suplex.
19:59Yes, it's a pretty Randy is a little weak at the moment because that wasn't a very high suplex.
20:05It did its damage, obviously, to Macho Man, but not as much as if Randy had been 100% fit.
20:12He's changing clothes on their knees.
20:20As though it were a fidget boxing match there for a second, Alfred.
20:23Yes.
20:25High body press off the ropes, goes for the cover.
20:31Right into it, charging Ted Tibiase with that clothesline.
20:36Only get two there.
20:37This is really a fantastic match on both these men going hammer and tongue at each other.
20:43And I'm surprised at the quick reversals that both of them have been able to make at this point in
20:48this
20:48match because they've both taken a tremendous thrashing and yet to keep your brain so clear
20:53and so aware of what is going on is awfully, awfully difficult.
20:57Great wrestler.
20:59Perhaps both men right now conserving energy after the fast and furious pace we have seen preceding this.
21:08Definitely.
21:09Definitely, DiBiase is in a good situation there to give himself a breather.
21:13There's no doubt about that.
21:14Check him.
21:18That DiBiase asked Dave Hefner to check him.
21:22He's got two if he gets one more.
21:25Hold him, hold him nicely.
21:27Two and a half.
21:29The Macho Man Randy Savage reaching down somewhere.
21:35Gets back on his feet.
21:40But Ted DiBiase remains on top.
21:48Dave Hefner
21:51asking the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, I don't know what good that will do.
21:56Well then he pulled the hair out of the champion.
21:57He has all of an argument there with DiBiase.
22:04See him driving as he leaps up and holding on to that chin lock.
22:15Elizabeth has every right to look concerned there.
22:18Her man is not faring too well right at this particular moment.
22:23And look at Virgil, ever present, always there, regards himself as a sentinel.
22:28But he's not slow in coming forward to give a helping hand.
22:35All right there, the Macho Man Randy Savage charging into the turnbuckle,
22:40tucking at the last second and driving the head of Ted DiBiase into that top turnbuckle.
22:46Good move that by Savage, what an excellent, excellent move.
22:49You'd call that heads up, I guess, Alfred.
22:51Yeah, definitely heads up there, definitely.
22:53It was indeed.
22:54And heads down for the Million Dollar Man.
22:57And the whole body down, in fact, after that.
23:00Savage charging to the turnbuckle.
23:03But it looks as though this match has taken a great deal from both men.
23:10It says so much for their conditioning, Shawn.
23:13These men are absolutely in fine, fine conditioning.
23:19And it's showing all the time.
23:24Tibiase stepping across, twisting the left leg of the champion.
23:28And the Macho Man waiting until the last second and then using that right leg
23:34to drive the Million Dollar Man Ted Tibiase back into the corner.
23:38And did you notice how his neck snapped across that third turnbuckle?
23:42Or the middle turnbuckle, I should say.
23:44Could have been a case of whiplash there.
23:49And again, the same move sends Ted Tibiase right over the top rope.
23:54You think he would have been more cautious, Alfred?
23:56I think so, definitely.
23:58But you know, now they both had their heads rattled a bit.
24:01They've put everything they have into this match.
24:03They know what's at stake.
24:05So they could make mistakes here.
24:07The Macho Man waiting for Ted Tibiase.
24:11Driving a right fist into the midsection.
24:14And now if ever there is a chance for the Macho Man to finish him off, it is now.
24:21Locks another blow, delivers one, locks.
24:28A mistake here by the champion.
24:31He didn't follow that up quickly enough.
24:34He allowed just those precious few seconds of recuperating time for DiBiase.
24:39One, two, six, seven, eight, four, three.
24:45Champion limping.
24:47Now he's vulnerable.
24:48He reached that knee, hooks a leg.
24:50Can only get two.
24:53Once again, I guess driving into the turnbuckle when he missed Ted Tibiase earlier.
24:56Yes, it was a textbook cover.
24:59But everything was right with it.
25:02And everything was right with that move too.
25:04How well.
25:08Right over the top rope.
25:11Snapping Ted DiBiase's head off the top rope there.
25:15I don't know if you've noticed, Shawn, I'm sure you have.
25:18But Macho Man is favoring that right knee that he injured a little while ago.
25:23Very, very heavily now.
25:25Captain is starting to stiffen up.
25:28It could be in this cold evening air.
25:36Virgil getting involved here.
25:38Trying to make his way to the top rope there.
25:41Scuffling here.
25:44Macho Man, Shawn coming.
25:48Oh.
25:50Rolled the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase back over.
25:54And a very close count there, Alfred.
25:56Yes, how did DiBiase manage to escape from that?
26:02Put his head down.
26:03And that's what happens when you do that.
26:06And now, I believe.
26:09Yes, it is.
26:11The Macho Man is favoring his left knee now.
26:14So, obviously, both wheels in trouble.
26:17He's trying to impose the Million Dollar Dream here.
26:24The Macho Man keeping it high, keeping it away from his neck.
26:27Yes, that's good positioning by the Macho Man under such circumstances.
26:32He's got it high, and he's around his chin.
26:34He's got to keep it there.
26:36If DiBiase can drop it a little bit, he's gone.
26:41Dave Hefner forces them to break.
26:45And right there, you see the bodyguard with a chair.
26:49Dave Hefner had his back turned.
26:51I don't believe he even saw it.
26:53I don't think he did.
26:54He must have heard it because it was a tremendous blow.
26:56How is that possible?
27:04Unbelievable.
27:06The champion showing tremendous courage.
27:09After receiving a vicious blow from a chair on the bodyguard Virgil.
27:16What great resilience he has, Macho Man.
27:20I just, I just take my hat off to him every time.
27:24Look at this.
27:24He goes over the small package here.
27:26Two and three.
27:27Got it.
27:29What a victory for the champion, the Macho Man, Randy Savage.
27:35He pulled that one right out of the air,
27:38because he'd been hit over the head with a chair.
27:41He was suffering, and now look at, that's frustration.
27:45From DiBiase.
27:46Now the bodyguard Virgil coming into the ring.
27:50The Macho Man, the decisive victor in this one.
27:53But it is not enough for the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase.
27:56They've got in completely at their mercy.
27:59And somebody better try and stop this,
28:01because the referee is not going to be able to.
28:06Macho Man is down.
28:07He's kept fairly well within the rules.
28:10Not completely, but fairly well.
28:11King Haku dropped down there, and met with the knee of Sam Houston.
28:17But having good little effect as King Haku picks him up and drops him with a body slam.
28:21And misses with the elbow.
28:24That was such a joke.
28:25My elbow, too.
28:29Devastating rights by Sam Houston to the side of the head.
28:33And the third one drops King Haku.
28:36They were big roundhouses, and the youngster is roused in a nice clothesline.
28:42King is down.
28:45Only for a two count.
28:48Could not just get that three in.
28:51Only just, he's trying to follow up his attack, which is a good thing.
28:56But he threw a little portion to the wing there.
28:59Right over the top.
29:01A reverse back kick, a snap kick to the back of the head of Sam Houston.
29:05That was nicely judged by Haku.
29:07The pancake, he lifts the leg.
29:15What a competent victory there by the King.
29:19It looks like he has some servants down in the front row there, Alfred.
29:25The winner of this bout, King Haku.
29:31I wouldn't have believed him if I didn't see it myself.
29:35He's got the crap, not perilously, perilously poised on the head.
29:39He rammed that onto his head.
29:41Did you see that?
29:42Well, Sam Houston, a very good showing here against King Haku.
29:46But the King proving to be too much for him.
29:50After, I think we're going to get another look.
29:52I'd like to see this.
29:53Here we see where Houston went to come backwards, but caught that tremendous karate.
