00:00Well there is the goal across Africa Mission 300 to connect 300 million
00:06people to reliable energy sources by 2030. While many other countries around
00:12the world are looking at mega projects, they want these big nationalized or
00:18continental-wide mega power projects. You've spoken about the growth of mini
00:24grids or micro grids across Africa. How effective is that unique approach?
00:31Absolutely, thank you for the question. In fact what happens is that Europe for
00:35example as a surface is much smaller, much much smaller than Africa. So
00:40imagining a global grid that will go throughout Africa is a bit of a long
00:45shot. One thing that is more of a quick win is to establish either mini grid, you
00:50said it, or micro grids. And I would like to take an example of a hotel that is
00:55remote in some place of the Mara for example, that would need electricity, they
01:01most probably are already using what we call a micro grid, which is a combination
01:06of batteries, solar energy storage, most probably a small genset, and all of that
01:12needs to be managed intelligently. So we just need to scale up that in the
01:17small villages, small cities, instead of working with a traditional, you know,
01:23generation to consumer, one-way grid, you can also create this prosumer space and as
01:30I said offline, we can do that. Technically it's already feasible.
