00:31...to Marque, Abruzzo to Marque, where the Finnish Infermo would greet the riders after a very, very tough run-in
00:39too.
00:39Afonso Eolelio, the Portuguese rider, still in the Maliarosa and looking good.
00:47His Bahrain victorious team setting out on this stage to do their best to defend it once again.
00:55Starting uphill, as we so often do in the Giro d'Italia, teasing out some of the best riders too.
01:00Two Italians, in fact, Filippo Ganna and Alberto Bettiol, both going on the attack, getting some time out front by
01:07themselves.
01:07A really nasty individual crash for Fabio Christen of Pinarello Q36.5 and sadly that meant he was out of
01:16the race.
01:17Lots of sandy coastal shots as we saw Ganna and Bettiol getting caught.
01:24The pressure was really on though.
01:25And on the back of that pressure, with 75k to go, three incredibly strong riders going forward.
01:31Two of them from the same team, Mikkel Biel and Jonathan Navaez, both of UA team Emirates.
01:38In the company of Andreas Leknesund, two national champions there.
01:41Leknesund, of course, the Norwegian national road race champion.
01:44And the team of the King of the Mountains leader, Jonas Vinjegor.
01:49Bismarck Lisebike, aiding the chasing behind.
01:52None of the three who were clear at this point, a threat to general classification.
01:57But Leknesund, anyway, led through the Malia Ciclamino points to take the 12 points there.
02:05And it was Niklas Larsson of Unibet Rose Rockets who took the three behind, leading that chasing group.
02:14Navaez was increasingly looking stronger and stronger as they went deeper into the climbs.
02:20Four categorised climbs to bring them to the finish.
02:23Mikkel Biel was working hard for Navaez.
02:28The Dane taking the nine points on the Montefiore d'Asso.
02:32And the roads were drying out too.
02:35After a few wet days in the Giro d'Italia, much more sunshine on the Saturday stage.
02:41And as I say, Leknesund working hard in amongst the two UA team Emirates riders there.
02:47On to the next mountains point.
02:48At this time, it was Johnny Navaez on top of the Monterubiano climb.
02:55Two fourth category climbs in quick succession.
02:58The back end of this race.
03:02And the chasing group behind weren't giving up.
03:04Neither was Javier Romo, who was stuck in the gap, really.
03:08Leknesund still working hard into the headwind and trying to make sure he could stay with Mikkel Biel,
03:12who appeared to be emptying the tank at this point for the good of Johnny Navaez, his team-mate.
03:19Barring victorious, defending, of course, the Maliarosa of Alfonso Eulaglio.
03:24There was the Red Bull kilometre, for what it's worth, on that occasion.
03:29Taken by Mikkel Biel.
03:31The six seconds.
03:33Not that it would matter.
03:34This wasn't about the Maliarosa, this breakaway.
03:36This was all about the stage.
03:38And don't forget, Navaez had already won a stage back in Cosenza, the UAT Emirates team,
03:44down to just five riders in this race, too.
03:46And yet, still flexing their mighty muscles.
03:51Leknesund being distanced by Navaez.
03:55And he took the final categorised climb before the finish, of course.
04:00Capo Darko, ahead of Andreas Leknesund, Navaez, and was locked on for the finish.
04:05But he still had two more really stout lumps to come, including gradients of 20%.
04:11Look at Leknesund here in second place, the Norwegian road race champion.
04:15But the Ecuadorian road race champion, Jonathan Navaez, was turning this one right in his favour.
04:21Fantastic crowd out to witness the arrival in Fermo, in Marque.
04:28And a stage finish seemingly perfectly suited to Johnny Navaez.
04:34Already won stage win, as I say to his name.
04:37And behind them, quite some way behind them, the race leader himself, Alfonso Eulalio, was attacking the group.
04:45Navaez knew it was close between himself and Andreas Leknesund, but took a celebration.
04:52That is now three stage wins for UAE Team Emirates in this race.
04:57As I say, there's only five of them left in it.
04:59Leknesund hung on for second, and his own countryman, Martin Chota, and teammate, took third.
05:04Great day for UNOX Mobility as they make their Giro d'Italia debut.
05:09Alfonso Eulalio, comfortable and strong-looking in his defence of the Malia Rosa today.
05:15Paul Magne, still in the Malia Ciclamino, and waiting for more sprints in this race too, of course.
05:21Jonas Vignogor, by just one point, leads the King of the Mountains competition.
05:27And, of course, Alfonso Eulalio, the race leader, is also the best young rider.
05:32Join us for tomorrow's Mountain Stage.
