00:01Barisan National will contest all 56 state seats in the next Johor state election, says Johor BN chief On Hafiz

00:10On Hafiz, the Johor Menteri Besar said the decision was made after taking into account the views and aspirations of

00:17the people of Johor,

00:18as well as feedback from UMNO and BN grassroots leaders in the state.

00:22He said the decision shows that the party is prepared to continue forming a stable and strong government

00:29dedicated fully to the development of the state and the well-being of bangsa Johor.

00:35His announcement is expected to fuel speculation over the political landscape ahead of the next Johor polls,

00:41particularly regarding potential cooperation between BN and Pakatan Harapan.

00:46The Johor State Assembly will automatically dissolve in April next year if an election is not held before then,

00:53after which the polls must be held within 60 days.

00:57BN formed the state government after winning 40 of the 56 seats in the last Johor election in March 2022.
