Les sprinteurs reprennaient leurs droits sur cette troisième étape du Tour de Turquie. Après avoir été piégés la veille par Benoît Cosnefroy et son équipe UAE Team Emirates-XRG, les hommes rapides se sont départagés au sprint la victoire au terme d'une étape de 152 km entre Kaposvár et Szekszárd, au final exclusivement plat mais rendu compliqué par une pluie tenace. Et à ce jeu-là, comme sur la première étape, c'est Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) qui s'est montré le plus fort. Fernando Gaviria (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), qui avait lancé le sprint, prend la deuxième place devant Juan Sebastian Molano (UAE Team Emirates-XRG). Concernant le classement général, Benoît Cosnefroy concède le maillot de leader au vainqueur du jour, au jeu des bonifications. Kristian Egholm (Lidl-Trek), deuxième au départ de l'étape, a été distancé dans le final.
