Scottie Scheffler isn't motivated by a potential Sunday final pairing at a major with Rory McIlroy.
Transcript
00:00Speaking of Rory, you and him have not had that major Sunday final pairing kind of head-to-head matchup
00:06yet.
00:06Does that kind of individual head-to-head matchup compel you? Does that drive you? Is that something you'd like
00:11to see?
00:11I would not say that it drives me. I think when I look over the course of my life, you
00:16know, my sources of motivation have always been internal.
00:19For me, getting better at golf is such an interesting and fun thing to try to accomplish.
00:23Like, you're always towing the line between getting better, getting worse.
00:25When I can go out by myself and practice and have something that I want to work on and improve
00:30on, it's one of my favorite things.
00:31I love trying to figure things out, and that's always been what's driven me.
00:35You know, I also love competition. I don't like losing, but at the end of the day, I think the
00:39preparation, getting ready to come out here and play is something that I really enjoy.
00:44And I don't really think about much else other than that when I'm at home practicing.
00:47I'm not thinking about something that somebody else is really good at.
00:50I'm seeing how something that I'm doing and how I can get better at that.
00:53I don't really look for a lot of sources of outside motivation.
