00:01Tens of thousands of Argentines marched through downtown Buenos Aires and other major cities on Tuesday,
00:07demanding that President Javier Millet reverse cuts to public university funding.

00:19which culminated at Plaza de Mayo in front of the presidential palace.
01:10Millet, who took office in late 2023,
01:13pledging deep spending cuts to eliminate Argentina's fiscal deficit,
01:17vetoed a 2025 law that guaranteed increased funding for public universities.
01:23Although Congress later overturned the veto,
01:26the government has yet to implement the budget increase mandated by the law.
01:30The dispute is now before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation,
01:34after the government filed an extraordinary appeal,
01:37arguing that it lacks the resources to finance the measure.
01:41That's right!
01:42No voy a trabajar!
