I got to attend a hands-on preview event hosted by Nintendo for the new 'Yoshi and the Mysterious Book'! This game is all about exploration and puzzle-solving in a beautiful storybook world, and you can't even take damage. Here are my first thoughts.

00:00Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is not the game I thought it was going to be.
00:03I recently got to attend a hands-on preview event hosted by Nintendo which, by the way,
00:08had some awesome Yoshi-themed snacks. The game is all about exploring and puzzle solving.
00:13You take zero damage from enemies, there aren't any lives, and there's nothing to lose. Seriously,
00:18you can't die in the game, but that isn't to say the game is too easy or unchallenging because that
00:22is far from the truth. There is a storybook that has several chapters, and in each chapter you
00:26observe a mysterious species which prompts you to visit that part of the book. Your job as Yoshi
00:31is to observe the species, see how it interacts with the environment, and complete challenges.
00:35You get a currency that allows you to unlock different types of hints from the main menu to
00:39also help you discover new challenges. I also really love the visuals. It has this really
00:43cool storybook vibe that it's going for, and it fits the entire thing and adds a very cool,
00:48cozy element to it. The puzzles can be really challenging, but the entire thing is just so
00:52chill. You really are just exploring and enjoying the environments around you. So I think cozy game
00:58lovers are really going to dig this game, and I'm excited to check it out for myself when it comes
01:02out later in May. I don't think the lack of any lives or punishment is a bad thing, but what
01:06do you guys think?
