Listen up: Audible launches New York pop-up bookstore with no printed books

New York is the launchpad this month for Audible Story House a pop-up bookless bookstore. The firm hopes the idea will take off in the city and cement its place as a community hub and listening lounge for literature.

00:19We're seeing audiobooks gaining a lot of momentum.
00:22BookTok is a significant driver of that.
00:25There's a community on TikTok where those that are interested in either authors or genres
00:31are really introducing new audiences to that space.
00:35And even book clubs and bookstores have a bit of a renaissance right now as well.
00:46The idea is we'll have sessions where there'll be sound baths so people can go in there
00:50and use it as a way in the afternoon to have a bit of a relaxation before they go back
00:54to work.
00:55Or they can fully immerse themselves into something like Harry Potter.
00:58So there'll be scheduled sessions throughout the month.
