The components for the electric powertrain of the new electric GLC come from a closely integrated production network within Mercedes-Benz. Since 2026, ACCUMOTIVE in Kamenz has been supplying the Bremen plant with the new generation of batteries. These are based on a highly efficient 800-volt electrical architecture and advanced cell chemistry, enabling significantly reduced charging times. Energy for up to 305 kilometers of range can be added in just ten minutes. The WLTP range of the GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ technology is up to 715 kilometers.

The electric drive units are manufactured at the Sebeș plant in Romania. This site has specifically expanded its production portfolio to include components for electric vehicles and, after Untertürkheim, is the second location in the global production network to supply vehicle plants with electric drive units.

The Mercedes-Benz plant in Hamburg plays a central role in the production of electric axles and other key powertrain components. Hamburg has been supplying the Bremen plant with electric axles for the EQE since 2022 and is now also manufacturing components for the electric GLC.
