00:00It's a strange thing, but my first, my immediate reaction was, when's first plane, if you know what I mean,
00:10the chairman said that he had to phone Mr Edwards of Manchester United, and really honestly, and that is a
00:18strange thing because Aberdeen is such a great club, and we know it's a marvellous club and great chairman, so
00:27to react that way immediately was
00:30a bit strange, I didn't expect it, but that was my first thought, was, God, this is, I couldn't have
00:37to pause with them this day.
00:38Has you been tempted before, and been able to turn it down?
00:41Yeah, because, to be honest, good clubs too, but I didn't think they were above Aberdeen, if you know what
00:50I mean, and didn't think that they could ever match what's here.
00:55Yeah, so many people all over Britain have a care for Manchester United, tremendous care and concern for them, and
01:03want to know how they're doing, and want to know and hope they're doing well.
01:07I hope the Manchester United players realise that responsibility, and I'm sure they do, and if they do, then we'll
01:13have a real good chance, because that's important.
01:16Do you have feelings of sympathy for Ron Atkins?
01:17Absolutely. I said that to players today, it's a terrible position to be in, me standing there, introducing myself to
01:23new players, and they've lost their manager, and it's that kind of a concern, and they've expressed that.
01:29A lot of them are concerned, you know, for Ron Atkinson, and as I said to you, if they've got
01:34that, if they've got a care and concern for Ron Atkinson, our last manager, that's good.
01:38I'm glad to hear that, because that gives them a real good chance, because it is about feelings, and a
01:43feeling, and for, and understanding that the manager isn't a fireman, and then, they'll do all right.
01:50Once we get a relationship, I'm sure we'll do very well.
