DANIEL DUBOIS endured a sobering corner moment against Fabio Wardley as his coach SLAPPED him twice.

The British boxer has set up a potential trilogy fight against Oleksandr Usyk with his win over Wardley.

Dubois, 28, showed his willpower against his compatriot as he came off the deck twice to claim victory.

The Greenwich brawler hit the canvas in the first 10 SECONDS and then again in the third round.

But he was able to fight back in the bout at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester and forced a stoppage in the 11th round.

Part of the reason behind his ability to get back into the contest was the efforts of his coach, Don Charles.

He could be seen slapping Dubois after one corner meeting as he put his hands to his face twice.

Fans appreciate the moment but were still left stunned by the force put into the slaps.

One posted: “It’s what he needed; he went in and fixed everything.”

A second wrote: “That put him on the right path because he was slipping.”

A third commented: “He just unleashed the beast in him.”

A fourth said, “I thought Don Charles was gonna knock him out.”

Another added: “Surprised he didn’t take a knee and collect himself lol.”

Charles explained the slaps to the media after the fight.

He told Fight Hub TV: “Instinct, vibration, energy, to wake him up to realise the task he has got ahead.

“Let’s do the job to be done.”

Dubois and Charles had previously worked together before parting ways after the defeat to Usyk in July 2025.

They reunited in January this year.

Dubois took home the WBO heavyweight title with the win to put himself back in contention to take on Usyk.
