Rachel Zegler is headed to Broadway with 'Evita.' The production, directed by Jamie Lloyd, will come to Broadway in spring 2027 after a critically acclaimed West End Run at the London Palladium. Zegler will reprise her starring role; additional casting has not yet been announced.

00:23In London, the show famously had a scene in which Zegler would stand on the theater balcony
00:27and sing Don't Cry For Me Argentina to crowds gathered outside the theater. Lloyd has said
00:32that will not be possible in New York, as the team has expressed concerns about safety,
00:36so it will be restaged for Broadway. Lloyd said in a statement in part,
00:40I was completely overwhelmed by the incredible response to Evita in London. It is an honor to
00:45work with Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I'm looking forward to revisiting the production
00:49with Rachel, whose stellar performance continues to inspire me. This will mark Zegler's return
00:54to Broadway after starring in Romeo and Juliet alongside Kit Conner from September 2024 through
00:59February 2025. She recently won an Olivier Award for her performance in Evita. Zegler said,
01:05Performing Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's brilliant show in London was a dream come true,
01:09but being able to partner once again with Jamie to bring Evita to Broadway is a once-in-a-lifetime
