00:00It has been a long and winding road, a bit like the A9, unduelled, a bit like the A96, unduelled,
00:07but it has been a long and winding one nonetheless.
00:13Well, as you say, I've had the privilege of being the MSP since 1999,
00:20when the Parliament was reconvened by my mother, Winnie,
00:23and as the late John Smith of the Labour Party, Labour Party leader,
00:28said the greatest honour is the opportunity to serve,
00:32and that honour was bestowed on me on six occasions by the electors, the voters of this constituency,
00:39so I'm forever grateful to them, and I've sought extremely hard to do my very best for them,
00:47for Inverness and Nairn, for the Highlands and for Scotland.
00:50In my 27 years as an MSP and 14 as a Minister, I hope and believe that I have achieved,
00:56working always with others, many things over that period,
01:00but it is for others to make that judgment.
01:03And if I have a regret, it's that we haven't yet seen the Nairn bypass.
01:07I was standing as an independent voice because I felt that was the right thing to do.
01:13The SNP changed path, it changed direction,
01:15especially under the last five years under Nicola Sturgeon, led me to become independent.
01:20So, as Edith Piaf put it, je ne regrette rien.
01:26That was WVS system, back to thebour fica.
01:27I don't realise where...
01:28Now that we have to live and here's the court,
01:28So that's the norm here,
01:28P Mattie B.
01:28they're illiterate...
01:29There a couple of odd things...
01:29So that one seems to really be able to on up to you too.
01:30It's very定 ridiculous because it seems hard to be introduced.
