00:00A new survey shows that global perceptions of the U.S. have deteriorated for a second consecutive year
00:06and are now worse than views of Russia.
00:09The findings have been linked to foreign policy decisions under President Donald Trump,
00:13including tariffs, tensions with allies and conflicts in the Middle East.
00:19Respondents also rank the United States among the countries seen as posing the greatest threat to global stability,
00:25alongside Russia and Israel.
00:27The survey was commissioned by the Alliance of Democracies Foundation,
00:31a Denmark-based group founded by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
00:37He said the sharp decline in global perceptions of the U.S. was saddening but not shocking.
00:42Relations between Washington and several European allies have come under strain over Trump's tariff policies.
00:48His repeated comments about taking control of Greenland, reduced U.S. support for Ukraine
00:53and tensions linked to the conflict involving Iran, which have pushed global oil prices higher.
