00:00We're going to deep dive five bullpen trade targets for the New York Mets that they should
00:03very well be considering if they have not done so already, especially now as A.J. Mentor,
00:08their veteran style father, he was shut down, has a setback, dealing with a hip issue,
00:12so we don't exactly know the timetable for A.J. Mentor, nor do we know exactly what we're getting
00:17when he returns from injury. Knowing there's a lot of uncertainty there for a very uncertain
00:21ball club as is, it goes without saying the Mets should be making proactive moves in the first
00:25half this year before the trade in line if they would still like to keep their season alive.
00:29Brennan Bernardino, who has a sub-two-year race so far this season over 10 outings and had right
00:34around a three-year race and a very respectable sample size for Boston last year. Mr. Daniel Lynch
00:39is a 1.84-year race in 14 games and the big difference between him and most guys on today's
00:44list is that this kid does throw gas. Sean Newcomb, who has a 3.6-year race so far this
00:49season for the
00:50White Sox, is someone who again can provide length for you as a reliever and just bringing you more
00:54certainty in your bullpen when you need it from a lefty. Cody Funderburg, he's a viable
00:59southpaw option. You have a 2.5-year race and 17 outings so far this season and another lefty that
01:04can come in, get you quality outs, do it at an effective rate, and do it at a level that
01:07you're
01:08going to be satisfied with, Garrick Lavender. We're looking at anywhere from a 10.5 to 12-plus K for
01:13nine. Really respectable walks for nine. He keeps the ball in the park. He throws solid gas. He sits
01:19mid-90s but can get to the upper echelon when needed. He has all the makings to be a high
01:23-quality,
01:23dynamic back-end reliever for this Mets bullpen. But to varying degrees, I think all these southpaws
01:29we broke down today make plenty of sense for this New York Mets team.
