Fresh tensions are erupting ahead of Russia’s Victory Day celebrations after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a chilling warning that has sparked global concern. Speaking ahead of the May 9 parade in Moscow, Zelenskyy said Ukraine could not guarantee the safety of foreign leaders attending the event, despite admitting that several countries urged Kyiv to avoid attacks during the celebrations.

The remarks have fueled speculation over possible Ukrainian drone strikes or sabotage operations targeting high-profile Russian events attended by President Vladimir Putin and allied leaders. Moscow has already tightened security around the capital amid fears of escalation linked to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

00:00greetings dear ukrainians a brief update on the day first i am grateful to our warriors for their
00:05precision the ukrainian special operations forces and other components of our defense
00:11there are results from long-range strikes particularly regarding the caspian sea
00:15region and the missile ship capable of launching caliber missiles there was also a strike on an
00:21oil facility in the perm region this is more than 1 500 kilometers from our state border there were
00:28other strikes as well according to our latest intelligence the results of our recent strategic
00:34responses in the bryansk direction in two ups and against specific critical oil facilities in russia
00:41have been quite satisfactory for us furthermore ukraine has now officially offered russia a formal
00:46ceasefire and this is certainly far from being the first proposal from ukraine this time the offer was
00:52to implement a ceasefire starting on the 6th of may ukraine was fully prepared to guarantee a state of
00:58complete silence yet in response to this peace proposal of ours we were met only with further
01:04russian strikes and threats they are demanding permission from ukraine to hold their parade to
01:09safely walk out into the city square for just one hour once every single year and then go right back
01:15to killing to murdering our innocent people and waging this brutal war the russians are already talking
01:22about strikes after may 9th the russian leadership's logic is bizarre and clearly irrational we have
01:28also received word from some states close to russia that their representatives plan to be in moscow
01:35a strange desire these days we don't recommend it in the last 24 hours alone the russians have struck
01:41along the entire perimeter of our state defense line from the chernyhev region to the mykolaiv region
01:46trains were hit these are ordinary civilian trains there is no military purpose whatsoever
01:54russian forces target our critical energy infrastructure and residential buildings they do
01:59this repeatedly without hesitation or remorse ukraine's position remains as transparent and honest as
02:04possible ukraine will surely respond in kind without our silence there will be no long-range strikes today
02:10we now move to the second important update for today we are currently continuing our ongoing
02:14negotiations with the official representatives of the president of the united states namely zvitkov and
02:19kushner umerov will be speaking with them today there are three tasks humanitarian issues we are very
02:26hopeful that we will be able to secure exchanges this is very important next intensifying the diplomatic
02:32process with russia although in russia they only think about strikes we are thinking about bringing peace
02:39closer we must bring an end to the war in europe which remains the most significant and expansive
02:44full-scale conflict since the conclusion of the second world war tomorrow yes tomorrow the entire world
02:51will solemnly mark the anniversary of the conclusion of the war in europe which took place in may of 1945
02:58the most meaningful way to honor the memory of all those who fought against fascism back then and one
03:03would of course be to ensure lasting peace across europe just as he just as he did 81 years ago
03:12america can
03:13now help bring peace through its just and strong stance against the aggressor and it is important that the
03:18american people now view russia exactly as that an aggressor another component of our negotiations with
03:26representatives of the president of the united states is security agreements that can strengthen our
03:32protection of lives we discussed the tasks for our work with partners in may with our diplomatic team
03:38these are significant matters air defense is a priority the resilience of ukraine remains our absolute
