Luke Tennie, who plays Sean in 'Shrinking,' breaks down the emotional season finale scene with Jimmy (Jason Segel). He reveals a special, improvised moment that brought their characters' journey full circle.
Transcript
00:00At the very end, we get to see him like hand the pool house keys over to Jimmy.
00:04I was curious what that move kind of tells us about how much Sean has grown and where he's headed
00:08next.
00:09I love that scene. And we shot that pretty close to rap.
00:13And something kind of happened in that moment where Jason and I, I don't know if anybody's going to realize
00:18it,
00:19but I felt something bubble up under the surface, a little small piece of physical improv
00:26that was a sort of callback to one of the first things that Jason and I shot.
00:31And it just happened. And he participated in that happening.
00:36He said, hey, hey, pal, you caught me off guard there. I was like, I got caught off guard, too,
00:39man.
00:40I was just taking it off of you. So if anyone notices that, we'll see if anyone notices what that
00:45physical full circle moment is.
00:47But yeah, that was lovely.
00:48Do you think Sean's going to consistently kind of check in and keep in touch with Jimmy,
00:53even though everyone else is off doing their own thing?
00:55I hope so. I kind of think that these guys are just going to be in each other's lives.
01:00I'm not a writer on this show, but I really do think that that would be a healthy way to
01:06kind of bookend this,
01:09you know, terribly super line crossing kind of illegal way to make a friend.
01:14But if they're going to do all of that, it would it would be really odd to see it not
01:19bubble into something eternal.
01:22I think they'll be lifelong friends.
