00:04Tick-a-billa
00:32Hello! Hello! And welcome to Tick-a-billa!
00:35Hello, Justin!
00:37Oh, hi, Tamba!
00:38Why are you dressed as a chef?
00:40Hmm, well, I'm not going to do some cooking today. I thought we'd have a go at dressing up!
00:45Oh, yes! I could dress up as a pilot.
00:48Oh!
00:49Or maybe a firefighter.
00:51A firefighter?
00:52Or perhaps a clown.
00:53Oh, a clown as well!
00:54Have you got everything ready?
00:56Apart from Tamba, who wants to play everyone?
01:00Well, I think we've got enough bits and pieces here.
01:03Right.
01:03And with a little imagination, we can be anyone we want to be.
01:08Woo-hoo!
01:09Are you going to join in too? Come on then.
01:11I like to put on funny clothes, funny clothes, funny clothes. I like to put on funny clothes, because dressing
01:20up is fun.
01:21And what I'll be, well, no one knows. No one knows. No one knows. And what I'll be, well, no
01:28one knows. Till my dressing up is done.
01:30One ear, two ears. Can you guess what I will be? With a tail so bright and teeth so white.
01:45Put them all together and you'll see.
01:55I like to put on funny clothes, funny clothes, funny clothes. I like to put on funny clothes, because dressing
02:03up is fun.
02:04One boot, one boot, two boots. Can you guess what I will be? With a hat so bright, you'd see
02:17me at night. Put them all together and you'll see.
02:28I like to put on funny clothes, funny clothes, funny clothes. I like to put on funny clothes, because dressing
02:37up is fun.
02:38One shoe, two shoes. Can you guess what I will be? With a funny nose and colourful clothes.
02:53Put them all together and you'll see. I like to put on funny clothes, funny clothes, funny clothes. I like
03:08to put on funny clothes, because dressing up is fun.
03:11One wing, one wing, one wing, two wings. Can you guess what I will be? With my stripy top and
03:24my dealy bops.
03:26One wing, one wing, one wing, two wings. Can you guess what I will be? With a hat so bright,
03:56you'll see.
03:57Oh, I like pretending I'm someone different to you.
04:01You know what? I love being a clown.
04:03And I love being a firefighter.
04:07A clown like you would belong in the circus, wouldn't they, Justin?
04:10That's right. You'd see clowns and stilt walkers and people that balance and juggle.
04:16That sounds like the windows.
04:18And I think we're going to find out about some children that are learning to stilt walk and juggle.
04:23Come on, let's go and have a look through them.
04:28How many windows?
04:31One, two, three.
04:35Round, square or arch, which one will it be?
04:44It's the square window.
05:02Wow, that looks interesting.
05:04Walking on sticks.
05:08And that one.
05:09These are stilts.
05:12Keep your leg in.
05:13Make them nice and tight.
05:18They look fantastic.
05:21Bye-bye.
05:22Bye-bye.
05:25These children are learning circus skills.
05:28Some of the things you might see in the circus.
05:32This is not the kind of thing that you can do at home.
05:35You have to go to special school to learn these skills.
05:47Okay, come on, let's see what we can do.
05:49This is a walking globe.
05:52That's it.
05:52Feet apart.
05:53Bloody apart.
05:54It's like a big ball.
05:57Excellent.
06:00Other people have to hold your hands when you start.
06:03Okay, that's good.
06:05You have to keep your feet moving.
06:07Feel yourself going and you must jump.
06:10It's difficult because the ball is round.
06:37The mat stops you from hurting yourself.
06:40Oh, very good.
06:41Well done.
06:42All right, you ready?
06:43Here we go, Kelly.
06:44Put your knee, your foot and your stand.
06:47Nice and straight.
06:48Nice and straight.
06:49Arms out.
06:50There.
06:50You hold that hand there.
06:52You hold that hand there.
06:53All of these children have practised and practised
06:56so they know how to do it safely.
06:59Right.
07:00Well, you've got your unicycles.
07:01Here's yours, Corey.
07:02Now make sure you've got one pedal down there,
07:05nice and close to the ground.
07:06Put the seat under your bottom and sit up nice and straight.
07:10Now remember, to get your balance,
07:12you must be sitting on your seat and your feet on the pedals.
07:16See if you can just rock back and forth.
07:17Just rock back and forth.
07:19Very good.
07:21Do you feel nicely balanced?
07:22Good.
07:23One, two, three, go.
07:27You have to have very good balance to ride this unicycle.
07:32Very good, Jonathan.
07:34Well done.
07:35It's like a bicycle, but it only has one wheel.
07:47Maybe one day you might see some of these children performing at the circus.
07:56Wow!
07:57Wasn't that great?
07:59Seeing all of those children learning the circus skills.
08:03Justine?
08:04Yeah, Lorna?
08:04You can do some of those skills, can't you?
08:07Well, as it happens, I can do a bit of juggling and balancing.
08:10And I found some bits and pieces around the Tickerbillor house,
08:13so I thought I'd have a go at doing some juggling and balancing.
08:17Oh, wow!
08:17Great!
08:18Well, let's start with Tamba's fire helmet.
08:24Are you ready, Tamba?
08:25Ready when you are.
08:27Right, here we go.
08:29Careful.
08:29Oh, and...
08:31Whoop!
08:32Oh, steady!
08:33Wow!
08:34Whoa!
08:35Whoa!
08:36How does he do that?
08:37Hey!
08:38Yay!
08:39Well done, Justin!
08:41Right, so what's next?
08:43What's this then, Tamba?
08:45Oh, that's my umbrella.
08:47That's right.
08:49Now, I'm going to very carefully put this onto my nose.
08:58Whoa!
09:00Wow!
09:01Great!
09:02Look at that, Tamba!
09:04There you go.
09:06We'll hope it doesn't rain.
09:09Hey!
09:10That's a good one.
09:10We like that.
09:11Now, with Tamba's umbrella, I've found...
09:16Lorna's umbrella.
09:18Oh, that one's bigger, Justin.
09:20It is.
09:21So, I thought I'd have a go at balancing this.
09:24Now, this time, I'm going to put it on my chin.
09:27Very carefully.
09:31Whoa!
09:32Ooh!
09:33Ooh!
09:34Ooh!
09:34Ooh!
09:34Steady!
09:35Easy!
09:36Ooh!
09:37Ooh!
09:37Justine is an expert, so don't try this yourself.
09:40Look, Tamba's lying down.
09:41Whoa!
09:42Ooh!
09:42Ooh!
09:43Ooh!
09:43Ooh!
09:45Try and get it back up again.
09:47Yeah!
09:47Oh, well done, Justin!
09:49Thank you!
09:50That's so clever, Justin!
09:51Clever!
09:52Yeah!
09:53What next, Justin?
09:54How about my football?
09:58Ooh!
09:59Now, some animals can balance balls on their heads and noses.
10:02Let's give it a go, shall we?
10:05Hup!
10:06Whoop!
10:06Ooh!
10:06Steady!
10:07Whoop!
10:08Ooh!
10:08Woo-hoo-hoo!
10:09Hey!
10:10What do you think this is?
10:11Ooh!
10:11Ooh!
10:11Ooh!
10:12Ooh!
10:12Ooh!
10:12Oh, I think I know!
10:14Is it a seal?
10:15That's right!
10:15Yay!
10:16It was a seal!
10:17Yay!
10:18Now, I've got some beautiful silk scarves here.
10:23Ooh!
10:24And they're lovely colours.
10:25Yes!
10:25So let's give these a go, shall we?
10:27Are you ready?
10:28Hup!
10:29Oh!
10:29Yellow, blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds, yellow,
10:33blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds, yellow, blue, reds,
10:34Wow, they fly all over the place, don't they?
10:36Look, they do!
10:37Thank you!
10:38Wow, that's great, Justin!
10:40That was really good!
10:41Now, Lorna, would you like to have a go at juggling?
10:44Oh, yes, please!
10:45Come on then!
10:47Right, well, I've got some balls for you there.
10:49So we'll start off with just one ball.
10:52Right.
10:52Right.
10:53What you do, you just throw it from hand to hand, like this.
10:57Whoop!
10:57And then back again.
10:59Okay.
11:00I can do that, yeah.
11:02That's it!
11:03Yay!
11:03Yay!
11:05That's great!
11:07Right, now it's time for two balls.
11:10So, there we go.
11:12And then, this is how you do it.
11:15One, two, three.
11:17One, two, three.
11:20Right.
11:21Go on, take your time.
11:22Here it goes.
11:24One, two, three.
11:25Yep, one, two, three.
11:26One, two, three.
11:28That's it!
11:29Hey, look, Tamra, I'm juggling!
11:31One, two, three, I can juggle!
11:32That's great!
11:33Hang on a minute, where do you think you're going?
11:37We haven't finished yet.
11:38Oh, right, okay.
11:40We've done two balls.
11:41Uh-huh.
11:41Now it's time for the third one.
11:44Three balls?
11:45So, if you put that one there.
11:47Three balls.
11:48Yeah.
11:48Now, you always start off with the hand with two balls in it.
11:51Uh-huh.
11:52All right?
11:52Yeah, I've done that.
11:53Okay, you ready?
11:54Uh-huh.
11:54Right, I'll show you how to do it.
11:56Whoop!
11:59Ooh!
12:00Wow!
12:00There you go!
12:01That looks tricky!
12:03That's very good.
12:04Okay, you'll go.
12:05I don't know, isn't it?
12:06Do you think no-one will be able to do it?
12:08Do I have to make the whoop noise?
12:09Absolutely.
12:10Okay.
12:10Right.
12:11Here goes.
12:14Whoop!
12:15You can do it!
12:16You can juggle!
12:17Oh, I think I need a little bit more practice.
12:22Oh, wow.
12:24Wow, look how high you can throw them.
12:27They're flying through the sky.
12:30Hey!
12:31I know what else flies in the sky.
12:35A rocket.
12:36Oh.
12:39As I said, we're going to make a rocket.
12:43Now, to make our rocket, we're going to need some foil, some scissors, some sticky tape,
12:52a kitchen roll tube, two sweetie tubes, some blue paper, some little black sticky circles,
13:02and some coloured tissue paper.
13:05Now, the first thing we need to do is to cover our tubes with foil.
13:11We'll start off with the big tube first.
13:15Now, you can tear off some foil.
13:17You don't need any scissors for this.
13:19And then roll your tube in the foil.
13:28And all you have to do is just fold down the edges.
13:34There we go.
13:35And that's the first part of our rocket.
13:37And you do exactly the same with your small tubes.
13:44A little bit of foil.
13:48And then just roll your tube up.
13:56Oh, I think we've got a little bit too much foil at the ends there.
13:59Let's snip it off with our scissors.
14:01There we go.
14:03And that bit.
14:04And then just push that into your tube.
14:10There's two tubes.
14:12Last tube.
14:13A little bit more foil.
14:15A little bit more foil.
14:18There we go.
14:18And then roll away.
14:22There you go.
14:25And we'll cut those ends off again.
14:29And push those in.
14:34Three tubes.
14:36Now, what we need is sticky tape.
14:41And start sticking.
14:45Right.
14:47A little bit at the top.
14:52And a little bit at the bottom.
14:57Right.
15:00Oh, a bit floppy.
15:02Let's turn it over and do the other side, shall we?
15:05A little bit at the top.
15:12And a little bit at the bottom.
15:19There we go.
15:20Now, that's beginning to look like a rocket.
15:23Now, I think we need to put a little top on there.
15:28Now, to do our top, we're going to need our blue paper.
15:33First of all, fold it.
15:38Then fold it again.
15:41And then one more fold.
15:47And then what you need to do is cut off the end.
15:56What you'll end up with is a nice little circle.
16:00Now, we need to put a little cut in here to the middle of our circle.
16:08And if I bend it in, it makes a cone shape.
16:15It's like a little hat.
16:19Now, we need to tape that together and put it on the top of our rocket.
16:29There we go.
16:30That's a perfect fit.
16:34It's like our rocket's got its own little blue hat.
16:40Right.
16:41There we go.
16:43Now, the thing that's missing now is some little windows for our astronauts to look out into
16:49deepest space.
16:50And I'm going to use these little black spots for that.
16:57Put one there.
17:03One here.
17:10And one there.
17:14I still think we're missing something on our rocket.
17:18Of course, some flames shooting out of the bottom.
17:23And for that, we're going to need our tissue paper.
17:26I've got three different colours here.
17:28Red, yellow and orange.
17:32And all you need to do with these is to rip them in half.
17:42Give them a little twist.
17:45And then, we can push them into the bottom of your rocket.
17:52I'll use a little bit of tape on that, just so it doesn't fall out while we're floating
17:58into deepest space.
18:00Another little twist on here.
18:05And a little bit of tape.
18:12And there we go.
18:15Five, four, three, two, one.
18:27Rockets don't really fly indoors, do they?
18:29No, they float out into space amongst the stars and sometimes they land on the moon.
18:41Maybe we'll see some more things in outer space through the windows.
18:50How many windows?
18:53One, two, three.
18:56Round, square or arched?
19:00Which one will it be?
19:04It's the round window.
19:09Have you ever looked up at the moon and the stars and wondered what it would be like to fly
19:15up there amongst them?
19:17Many years ago, some men did manage to go to the moon.
19:26We have connect.
19:27We have liftoff.
19:33They built a very powerful rocket which blasted off from Earth.
19:39It took four days to get to the moon.
19:48They then travelled down to the moon in a special moon landing vehicle.
19:54Their first steps on the moon were very exciting.
20:00They found that they could bounce around very easily.
20:06It was like fun.
20:08Actually, they were very, very brave.
20:14Because there is no air to breathe on the moon, they had to wear special space suits.
20:31Now, when men and women go into space, they travel around the Earth and use a space shuttle that can
20:39land back on the Earth and be used again.
20:45These people are called astronauts.
20:50When they are in space, there is nothing to hold them down, so they float about.
20:57Everyone who has gone into space has said that the most beautiful object in the sky is our home.
21:07The Earth.
21:10Right, I'll just put this...
21:11Oh!
21:12Justin!
21:13What are you doing?
21:14Well, I'm just putting the moon down here, Lorna.
21:17Oh, what on Earth?
21:19No, not the Earth.
21:21The Earth's over there.
21:23Justin!
21:24Yeah?
21:24Come and show everyone what you've done to this rocket.
21:27Alright then, Tamba.
21:28Well, what I've done is I've put a straw on the back here and I've threaded it onto some gold
21:33thread.
21:34So, Tamba, if you hold the rocket.
21:36OK.
21:37And I'll check the flight path.
21:39Yeah, looks OK.
21:41All the way down to the moon.
21:42Yeah, I think we're nearly ready to launch.
21:45OK.
21:45Are we ready to launch Tickabilla One?
21:48This is Tickabilla House to Tickabilla Rocket.
21:52Launch, please.
21:53Start the countdown.
21:54Ten.
21:56Nine.
21:57Eight.
21:58Seven.
21:59Six.
22:01Five.
22:01Four.
22:03Three.
22:04Two.
22:05One.
22:06Blast off!
22:08Woohoo!
22:11Hey!
22:12Yeah!
22:13The Tickabilla One has reached the moon.
22:17Oh!
22:19That sounds like the Tickabilla Clock.
22:21Let's launch and find out what time it is.
22:25Pow!
22:28Tickabilla.
22:29Tockabilla.
22:31Tickabilla.
22:32Tickabilla.
22:32Tock.
22:33What's the time on the Tickabilla Clock?
22:40Wow.
22:41The long hand is pointing to the number three.
22:45So that means it's a quarter past something.
22:48And the short hand is pointing just past the number four.
22:55So that means it's a quarter past four.
22:59But what's underneath the clock?
23:03Wow!
23:04It's another rocket!
23:09This is Sammy.
23:11He lives with his mum and dad, his sister Anuja, and his granddad Sonny.
23:16Sammy is four and a half years old.
23:20And Sammy loves to daydream.
23:27It was Tuesday, and Sammy and his mother were out shopping.
23:32They hadn't gone very far before they ran into Aunty Rosie.
23:36Aunty Rosie loved to talk.
23:38And while she and Sammy's mother chatted, Sammy went to look at the toys in the toy shop window.
23:44There were rockets and robots, spaceships and moon buggies, remote controlled dogs and telescopes and other things he didn't recognise
23:54but which looked very exciting.
23:57As Sammy looked, he saw the reflection of a huge spaceship in the window.
24:04It was a bit dented and burnt and was coming down to land behind him in the road.
24:10A window opened in the side of the ship, and a spaceman looked out and waved.
24:17Hi!
24:18I was wondering if you'd be able to help me.
24:20I'm trying to get to the moon, but my ship's all out of juice.
24:24Juice? said Sammy.
24:26What kind of juice?
24:28Orange juice, said the spaceman, to power the rocket.
24:31I don't suppose you'd know where I'd be able to get some.
24:34Wait a minute, said Sammy, and fumbled in the bottom of his bag.
24:38He pulled out an orange.
24:40Will this help?
24:42Yeah! said the spaceman.
24:44Come on up, I'll show you around.
24:46He lowered a rope ladder for Sammy, who climbed carefully up with his orange.
24:50Wow! said Sammy.
24:53This here is the hot seat, said the spaceman.
24:56And this is Armstrong, the ship's cat.
25:00This button fires the rocket for takeoff.
25:03You don't want to push that one by mistake.
25:07And this is the fuel injection system.
25:12As you can see, we are a little bit low in juice.
25:16Could I have that orange of yours there, please?
25:20Sammy handed over his orange, and the spaceman fed it into the juice-extracting mechanism.
25:29Armstrong, fire us up, called the spaceman.
25:36It's no good, he said.
25:38I'm afraid we're going to need more than that.
25:42Oh dear, said Sammy, wondering what to do.
25:45And then he had a thought.
25:49I've got a bit of pocket money left.
25:52This should be enough to buy you a few more oranges.
25:57Sammy scrambled down the rope ladder and ran to the greengrocers.
26:00His mother and Auntie Rose were so busy chatting, they hadn't noticed the spaceship, and they didn't even notice Sammy
26:07running past.
26:09He bought twelve oranges from the greengrocers and ran back to the spaceship as fast as he could.
26:16Sammy gave the spaceman the oranges.
26:19That should do it, said the spaceman.
26:22Thank you very much.
26:24He dropped the oranges one by one into the fuel injection system, and the tank slowly began to fill up.
26:33Okay, Armstrong, try her now.
26:39That's done it, said the spaceman.
26:41Start the countdown, Armstrong.
26:43We're ready for off.
26:45I'd better go now, said Sammy, or Mum will be wondering where I am.
26:50Thank you for your help, said the spaceman.
26:52Armstrong and I are very grateful.
26:55Sammy said his goodbyes and clambered back down to the pavement.
26:58He stood back as the rockets fired and the spaceship blasted off into the sky.
27:03As it flew overhead, he could see the spaceman and Armstrong waving from the window.
27:10Sammy, called his mother.
27:12Come on, it's time to go.
27:15Mmm, you smell of oranges, she said, as they walked off down the street to finish the shopping.
27:23Do you think the spaceman got up to the moon and flew among the stars?
27:27I'm sure he did, Tamba.
27:30Oh, I'd love to fly among the stars.
27:32Mmm.
27:38Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
27:44Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky.
27:50Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
