00:00ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
00:30He's on the road and steals game one.
00:32We just want to win ballgames.
00:34It's kind of a tone setter for the series.
00:35I will to win, got us through.
00:37One ball!
00:39That's first basketball right there.
00:41One game, I mean, we're going to bounce back.
00:43We have to be better.
00:44I got no doubt that we will.
00:46We're going to shake it through the ring, shake it through the ring, yeah, yeah.
00:51Show them how we do it now.
00:54Here in New York, Nick Fever is alive once again,
00:57especially the way the Knicks have played in the past week against Atlanta.
01:02And in game one of this series, that's outside of Madison Square Garden,
01:06they're packing them in.
01:07Meanwhile, let's see how the 76ers respond.
01:10They have been so good at that throughout this postseason.
01:14As we look at tonight's starting lineups brought to you by Gillette.
01:16So the veteran Andre Drummond, he started 25 games in the regular season.
01:21This will be his first in this playoff, but it'll also be his 18th playoff start.
01:26He has been there before.
01:27Meanwhile, for the Knicks, this starting five,
01:29operating on all cylinders right now at both ends of the floor
01:34as they've won their last four games in this postseason.
01:40Tyrese Maxey and the Sixers know it was a struggle.
01:44They also know how to bounce back
01:46and said they are ready to go even without their All-Star center.
01:50And guys, often blowout wins or blowout losses
01:54has zero impact on the next game in the playoffs.
01:57And that's part of the beauty of the playoffs.
01:58You put it aside and you go.
02:00But it does take a little bit of a different take without Joel Embiid.
02:04It does, 100%.
02:05And that's one of the best things for Philly.
02:07You can throw that game away,
02:08and you're a very different team without Joel Embiid.
02:11Are you a better team?
02:12Yes.
02:13But this style of play against the Knicks,
02:15I think the Knicks are going to have a little bit more adjustment
02:18playing against Philly without Joel Embiid.
02:20I think the big challenge here for Philadelphia,
02:23I think you forget about game one pretty easily
02:24coming out of that seven-game series with Boston.
02:28But this is the question.
02:29Can they slow down this Knick offense?
02:31That's going to be the question.
02:32Because right now, New York playing as well as anybody in this league,
02:36maybe Philly's best defense will be their offense
02:39and pace tonight led by Tyrese Maxey.
02:42And again, not to give the Sixers excuses,
02:44but they were coming off that emotional victory
02:47in game seven in Boston against the Celtics,
02:49flew right to New York and had to play.
02:51That sounds like an excuse, Mike.
02:53That sounds like an excuse.
02:54No excuses.
02:55It's a reason.
02:56No excuses play like a champion.
02:58It's reality.
03:02Knicks here at home during the playoffs are 3-1.
03:06The Sixers had two victories on the road in the first round.
03:40Downs kicks it out.
03:42Pass.
03:43And Bridges with the bucket.
03:45Carl Anthony Towns playmaking and passing has been incredible.
03:48And that's why we talked about it in the open.
03:50Right there, that's an easy shot for Mikael Bridges.
03:52After you get a layup, after you get an easy bucket,
03:55those three-point shots, those middies,
03:56start to become so much smoother.
03:59Paul George, more of the offensive responsibility,
04:02knocks that shot down.
04:03And when George has scored 20 or more,
04:06they're almost unbeatable.
04:08He comes into this game playing his best offensive basketball
04:12of the season.
04:13The role that he's been on and in the half court,
04:16like you just saw,
04:16that is the guy they'll go to for more isolation situations.
04:20Maxey guarding Bridges.
04:22Brunson guarded by Edgecombe, the rookie.
04:24Brunson gets inside, kicks it out.
04:26Ananobi, corner three.
04:28It's good.
04:29And everything going down for OG Ananobi.
04:32He is shooting an incredible 59% from three in the playoffs.
04:42George guarded by Ananobi.
04:43Fires away.
04:44Paul George, two for two to start.
04:46And that's exactly what the Sixers need.
04:48That is.
04:49But also, Carl Anthony Towns has to get to the level.
04:52He's got to be able to get up
04:53and give that defender another half second
04:55because there's going to be a lot of guys attacking him
04:58and pick and roll on Philly.
04:59And running the offense through Towns.
05:02And he draws a foul on Drummond.
05:04Not going to be in the act of shooting
05:05as Drummond picks up his first personal.
05:07When we say at the level,
05:09that means you've got to be up there
05:10and give them opportunity.
05:12Carl Anthony starts there,
05:13but then he backs up.
05:14The minute he backs up,
05:15that triggers for Paul George
05:16that he is open and he knocks it down.
05:18This is George's 123rd playoff game.
05:22He has seen it all in his postseason,
05:24throughout his career.
05:26And early on, you see Andre Drummond
05:28very active, almost overly active,
05:30with his hands on Carl Anthony Towns.
05:33He picks up that first foul,
05:35but now here you've got an illegal screen
05:37going the other way,
05:38and Carl Anthony Towns felt that one.
05:39And credit Edgecombe, the rookie,
05:41for fighting over the screen
05:42to help draw that foul.
05:45Right here, he just gets that leg stuck out
05:47as Edgecombe continues to chase.
05:50You see the wide base,
05:51but then right there,
05:52he slides that left leg over
05:54to make sure he gets contact.
05:57By the way, the rookie, Edgecombe,
05:59in the first round,
06:00in his first game two of his NBA career,
06:02had a 30-point, 10-rebound game.
06:04Pass deflected by Hart.
06:06Still sixer ball, nine to shoot.
06:08Edgecombe has had a magnificent regular season,
06:11one of the best rookies in the NBA.
06:13They've got somebody special.
06:16Like most of the Sixers
06:17did not have his best game in game one.
06:20Maxie throws it in the backcourt,
06:22and a foul's going to be called.
06:24Well, backcourt violation.
06:26And Anobi did not touch at first.
06:28They missed the pull on the jersey.
06:29They sure did.
06:30O.G. Ananobi watched the pull on the jersey.
06:32Had a grasp of his jersey,
06:34and really had his hand sort of around his waist.
06:37It just slowed his momentum,
06:38so he couldn't release to the basketball
06:41to time that up.
06:44Well, turnovers were very important
06:47in that game one.
06:48Philadelphia, and it's one of their strengths
06:50during the regular season.
06:51They had 19 turnovers in game one.
06:54Brunson drives.
06:55Edgecombe, good physical defense there.
06:58Towns fakes, now drives.
06:59Towns to the rim.
07:00Fouled hard by Oubre.
07:02Goes down.
07:03And the Knick bench up, upset.
07:06Drummond is shaking up two,
07:07and Towns took quite the tumble.
07:16Officials discussing whether or not
07:18they're going to take a look at it.
07:19Yep.
07:23Well, you take a look right here.
07:24Carl Anthony Towns goes in.
07:25Kelly Oubre comes over.
07:27He makes an initial play on the ball,
07:29but then all of that follow-through motion,
07:31he comes down around Carl Anthony Towns,
07:33shoulders, neck, and takes him to the ground.
07:36Now, Towns on the way.
07:38He hit Drummond.
07:39Drummond went down,
07:40and then Oubre comes in.
07:43That's a...
07:44Ruling on the floor is a defensive foul, Philadelphia.
07:46The player's being reviewed
07:47to see if it's potentially flagrant.
07:50I'm not sure.
07:51This is the thing.
07:52There was a wind-up, like you said.
07:53When you look at it,
07:54he makes a play at the ball,
07:55and yes, he does get up high,
07:57but does he hit the arm?
07:58Does he hit the neck?
08:00Now, let's see this.
08:01This is the part where when we slow it down,
08:03he does get him across his arm,
08:04and then on the way down,
08:05I think the follow-through,
08:07they can't call that.
08:08Wind-up and impact.
08:10Usually, the officials go by.
08:11If there's two...
08:12Wind-up, impact, follow-through.
08:13If there's two of them,
08:14it's usually a flagrant one.
08:16Typically.
08:16I just think most of this contact
08:18is coming down across his shoulder,
08:20and that's really where he stays,
08:22but at the end,
08:23he brings him to the ground with him.
08:25There's no question
08:26there's wind-up and impact.
08:27Now, can they look at Carl Anthony Towns
08:31and his move where he looked like
08:33he fouled Drummond on the way to the basket?
08:35And that would be huge
08:36because that would be two on him
08:38here early in the first 240.
08:40By the way, you know what's at stake
08:41because we've already had
08:42about eight people on the ground,
08:44and we're two minutes and 40 seconds
08:46into the game.
08:46Well, our officiating crew,
08:48very experienced.
08:49That's Tony Brothers
08:50in his 32nd season on the right.
08:52Ryan Forte in his 19th season on the left.
08:55Tyler Ford
08:57is our third official
08:58in his 11th season,
08:59and all of the gentlemen
09:00have had over 50 playoff games.
09:02Tony Brothers repped in 224 playoff games.
09:07So a lot to look at,
09:09and it's what you guys said.
09:10This is a very important call
09:11for a lot of reasons,
09:13including if they go back
09:15and call a foul on Towns,
09:16that would be his second.
09:17And that's so important
09:19for the Knicks
09:19because, one, you need him
09:21as a screener,
09:22and, two, you also,
09:23he's creating so many shots.
09:25And Mitchell Robinson
09:26is out today.
09:27Robinson with an illness
09:28will not play.
09:29That was a very late scratch.
09:32Oh, they seem to have
09:33come to the conclusion.
09:40There's Tony Brothers.
09:42At the review,
09:44the foul by Oubre,
09:45there is wind-up
09:46and follow-through on the play.
09:49Therefore, the play has been upgraded
09:50to a flagrant foul penalty one.
09:52There will be two shots
09:54plus possession.
09:59Let's take one more look at it.
10:05See, on that,
10:06they probably,
10:06it was high,
10:07but it wasn't an extended arm,
10:10but...
10:11I think they made the right call here,
10:13and especially in a game two situation like this,
10:15I don't want to say get under control,
10:17but like you mentioned,
10:18legs,
10:18so many bodies have already hit the floor.
10:21This is where you want to try
10:22and get things under control.
10:24Nick Nurse, by the way,
10:25he wanted them to look at
10:27the outside play.
10:28Towns, who's been excellent
10:30from the free throw line
10:31throughout the playoffs
10:32at 93%
10:33his overall shooting
10:34in the postseason,
10:3658% from the field,
10:3748 from three,
10:39and he's hit 38 of his 41 free throws.
10:45And again,
10:46the Knicks will get possession afterwards.
10:51There you see the numbers,
10:53the scoring numbers are down.
10:54He's only averaging 10 shots per game,
10:56but he is loving being the playmaker.
10:58What's been interesting is
10:59you see the scoring numbers
11:00and the opportunities to shoot
11:02have come down a little bit
11:03from the regular season,
11:04but his inclusion in the offense
11:06is what we've been talking about,
11:07and that's why you see
11:08those assist numbers up
11:10running a lot of their offense
11:12through Carl Anthony Towns
11:13in that elbow
11:14and three-point line extended area.
11:20Well,
11:21Drummond and Towns,
11:22some old-fashioned big men
11:24battling down low.
11:25Towns comes out,
11:26Drummond right with him.
11:30Good ball denial
11:31from the Sixers.
11:32Towns goes inside,
11:33goes right at Drummond,
11:34lays it up and in.
11:35But when you are a threat to pass,
11:38everyone staying at home.
11:40That split screen,
11:41everyone's so worried
11:42about that outside offense,
11:43it leaves Carl Anthony Towns
11:45with a one-on-one situation.
11:48Offensive foul,
11:50and it's going to go against,
11:51I believe,
11:52Paul George.
11:53That's his first.
11:55Drummond thought it was on him.
11:56He was surprised and shocked,
11:57but it's not.
11:58It's on George.
11:59And Nick Nurse
12:00waving for substitutions.
12:06And, you know,
12:07I know Nick Nurse
12:07wanted to go with Drummond
12:09at the start
12:09because he's a vet.
12:10He trusts him a little bit more
12:11than Bona,
12:12but I think Bona
12:12is a better matchup for Towns,
12:14and Drummond would have been
12:15a better matchup
12:16if Mitchell Robinson
12:17was playing tonight,
12:18and Bona looks like
12:19he's set to check in.
12:20Well,
12:21they thought,
12:21Nick Nurse thought,
12:22that that was going to be
12:23on Drummond,
12:23which would have been his second,
12:24so he had Bona come in,
12:26but it's only on George,
12:27so Bona's not going to come in.
12:30They had everyone confused
12:32in the building.
12:35You saw Cat
12:36on the last possession.
12:37He just put his head down,
12:38straight line,
12:39dribble drive on Drummond.
12:40I think he's picking him up
12:42too far outside.
12:43That's a foot race to the rim.
12:45Andre Drummond's not going to
12:46beat Carl Anthony Towns
12:47to the spot
12:48if he wants to drive.
12:49Drummond,
12:49an elite rebounder,
12:50one of the best,
12:51another pass,
12:52corner three hard.
12:53That shot won't go.
12:54And good boxing out
12:55from the Sixers.
12:56But that's where you have
12:57to pressure him,
12:58Lex.
12:58He's been passing the ball
12:59so well,
13:00if you just let him go up there,
13:01he's going to tee off on you.
13:03Maxie's telling before the game,
13:04he knows he has to be
13:05super aggressive,
13:06not necessarily for shots,
13:08but just in attack mode.
13:10Turnover,
13:10Sixers.
13:11Hart drives,
13:12Ananobi,
13:12corner three,
13:13puts it up.
13:14That one off the mark.
13:18Edgecombe looks to run.
13:19This is what the Sixers want.
13:20They want to play fast,
13:21increase the pace.
13:22Paul George,
13:23meanwhile,
13:24three for three
13:25from the field to start.
13:26Man,
13:27is he in rhythm?
13:27I mean,
13:28he caught that basketball
13:29and OG Ananobi
13:29was right in his space
13:31and he had no hesitation
13:33whatsoever
13:33because he's already seen
13:35two go in before that.
13:37Bridges tries him way off.
13:39Rebound Drummond.
13:43We talked about Ananobi's
13:45three-point shooting.
13:45George is shooting
13:4656 from three.
13:47So far,
13:48knocks down another.
13:49Paul George red-hot to start
13:51and it's a five-point Sixer lead.
13:53He's got 11 points.
13:59Brunson uses the Towns screen.
14:02Towns comes in,
14:03tries to get the rebound.
14:03Maxey takes it away.
14:07Maxey,
14:07the crossover,
14:08goes to the rim,
14:09reverse layup,
14:10banks it home.
14:11Superb start for the Sixers.
14:12That's beautiful right there.
14:14He knew that Towns
14:14was trailing the play.
14:16No shot blocker back.
14:18Maxey put on the Jets.
14:20Towns the rebound.
14:21Quick outlet.
14:22Nick said they want to play fast as well,
14:24even with Embiid out of the lineup.
14:26Towns runs on Drummond.
14:27Goes inside.
14:29Flips it up.
14:30Shot's good.
14:32I love that by Carl Anthony Towns.
14:34If he's going to pressure you,
14:35now your offensive game opens up.
14:38Drive the big.
14:39Show that seven-foot skill you have.
14:41Another turnover.
14:42That's four already for Philadelphia.
14:44Brunson extra pass on Ananobi
14:45with the flush.
14:51Both teams really looking to push the pace.
14:54And Sixers had 19 of those
14:56in the first game.
14:57Led to 25 points.
14:58Critical in this building
15:00that should take care of the basketball.
15:02Josh Hart rebound and runs.
15:05Finds Bridges.
15:06Bridges goes inside the rim.
15:08Banks it home.
15:10Nick Nurse on the sideline saying
15:12easy does it.
15:13Settle down.
15:13Settle down.
15:14Your adrenaline's pumping so much
15:16in the first six minutes of the game.
15:19You're trying to slow yourself down.
15:24Edgecombe Oubre.
15:27Maxey.
15:31Edgecombe goes at Carl Anthony Towns.
15:33Floats it up and in.
15:35That was ridiculous.
15:37That difficulty on that shot.
15:39I don't know if you can even appreciate
15:41what he just did in the arc.
15:42He put on that to get it over to ShopLocker.
15:44And Drummond picks up his second foul.
15:47Nick Nurse signaling for a travel.
15:50But it's going to be two free throws
15:51for Carl Anthony Towns.
15:53We got a track meet here early.
15:55Tyrese Maxey.
15:56You give him any space in the open floor
15:58you know where he's going to get.
16:00To the rim.
16:02New York pushing it right back at him.
16:04A lot at stake here in game two.
16:06Track meet to start.
16:12Well, it wasn't easy to start.
16:15The light switch flipped for the Knicks
16:16after falling behind two games to one
16:18against the Hawks.
16:19They finish it off with an NBA playoff record
16:22in game six with a 47-point lead.
16:25Last four games,
16:26they've outscored their opponents
16:27by 135 points.
16:30And in the last two games,
16:32because they've been so dominant,
16:33the starters haven't played a single second
16:35in the fourth quarter.
16:37And the Knicks right now,
16:38the number one scoring and shooting team
16:40in these NBA playoffs.
16:41You can talk about their offense,
16:43but it's been their defense
16:44that has helped lead their offense.
16:46They've shot the ball well,
16:47but it's also the easy buckets
16:49that their defense has created.
16:54Though Towns right back to the free throw line.
16:57Another oddity from game one.
16:59Free throw shooting.
17:0034-17 attempts in favor of Philly.
17:03You rarely see where there's
17:05such a huge disparity free throw,
17:07yet you're blown out by
17:08what happened to the Sixers in game one.
17:11Well, just on made field goals in that game,
17:14the Knicks outscored the Sixers by 54 points.
17:16The difference obviously made up somewhat
17:18at the foul line by the Sixers,
17:21but a lot of that was later in the game as well
17:23when it was already out of hand.
17:28Towns takes the full 10 seconds
17:30at the free throw, free throw line.
17:32Bona's now in the game.
17:33Dem Bona, who started the first three games
17:35in these playoffs in the Celtics series
17:37before Embiid returned from the appendectomy.
17:40Again, Embiid is out,
17:41and it's because of ankle and hip injuries.
17:44One that suffered in game one.
17:45The hip kind of started in the Celtics series.
17:48Paul George, that time, comes up short.
17:50And it'll be the rebound.
17:55Bridges into the paint.
17:56Back up top.
17:57Towns thought about a free throw behind.
17:59And it'll be nice catch.
18:00Gathers inside.
18:01Backs at home.
18:02He continues his hot start.
18:04He's got seven points already.
18:08And after trailing by seven,
18:10Knicks back up by one.
18:15Bridges comes out on Edgecombe.
18:20Bridges fights over the screen.
18:21Edgecombe stripped down low by Bridges.
18:23Knocked out of bounds.
18:24Still six or ball.
18:25They've got eight to shoot.
18:28You take a look right here.
18:29O.J.
18:29And then we make it all the right reads.
18:31The pass wasn't delivered out in front of him,
18:33but he was able to secure it enough
18:35that he could come to a jump stop,
18:37stay on balance,
18:38and then he got it up on the glass quickly.
18:41Substitutions.
18:42Miles McBride, Jordan Clarkson,
18:44both come in for the Knicks.
18:45Quentin Grimes, a former Knick.
18:47He comes in for the Sixers.
18:49Grimes was a fan favorite here.
18:52First two and a half years playing for the Knicks.
18:56Clark gets up on George.
18:58Maxey drives on McBride.
18:59Pulls up jumper.
19:00Shot no good.
19:01Rebound, Bona.
19:02Bona to Grimes.
19:10There's Paul George.
19:11Clark played him well.
19:12George fires away, comes up short,
19:14and Clarkson grabs it.
19:19Both teams shooting well to start from the field.
19:23Brunson drives.
19:24Can't finish.
19:25George the rebound.
19:28Old George very aggressive offensively.
19:30Goes inside, kicks it out in the corner.
19:32Grimes off the bounce to the rim.
19:34Short, but foul.
19:37And if that's on Towns,
19:38that's going to be number two.
19:41So two fouls on Towns.
19:43Just like in game one, he picked up two quick fouls, and Mike Brown had to take him out.
19:47But again, he doesn't have Mitchell Robinson here tonight.
19:50And Quentin Grimes, one of the X factors for Philadelphia.
19:53He's just such an aggressive offensive player.
19:56Attacked that closeout.
19:58Took it hard to the rim.
19:59Was going to guarantee he got some contact.
20:02Without Embiid, you need some supplemental offense.
20:05I think Quentin Grimes is one of those guys you're going to look at.
20:08So Ariel Huckporty is going to play again.
20:11Huckporty played 18 minutes in game one because both Towns and Robinson picked up foul trouble.
20:16The second-year center from Germany.
20:18The second-round pick of the Knicks.
20:21Had some good moments when he had the opportunity to play.
20:29George will take a seat for the first time.
20:33Grimes had that great game against the Celtics in game five.
20:39It's his second year with Philadelphia.
20:42And I'm really curious to see how Carl Anthony Towns being out.
20:44Again, we talked about him being a hub as a passer, but also a scorer.
20:49He's got seven points and two assists already early in the first.
20:53Brunson drives looking for some contact.
20:55Edgecombe with a bump.
20:57Brunson thought he was fouled.
20:58Ball knocked out of bounds.
20:59That looked like it was off-boner.
21:00The Knicks trying to say.
21:01But the Sixers wisely inbound quickly.
21:04Edgecombe's done an excellent job early on on Jalen Brunson.
21:12Oubre, he's been struggling from three, but nails that one.
21:15And that was coming off them putting two on Brunson.
21:18They put two on him, and now pass, pass, open shot for Kelly Oubre.
21:22He was just 5 of 27 from three so far in the playoffs.
21:28Shot a career right during the regular season.
21:30Hart gets it, finds Clarkson.
21:32Clarkson goes inside.
21:33The floater's up.
21:35Won't go, but a foul.
21:40And this is the risk you take.
21:42Look, you're going to send two when Jalen Brunson's guarding Maxie.
21:45They try and clear him out, but that opens up a shot in the corner.
21:48That's the best shot in basketball, that corner three.
21:59Clarkson coming off the bench his first season in New York.
22:02He's kind of changed his game.
22:04He's become a pesky defender, a good rebounder.
22:06Knocks down the free throw.
22:08Upcoming playoff schedule brought to you by Modelo.
22:11Prime video on Thursday, game two in Detroit and Oklahoma City.
22:14Prime video on Friday, game three in this series.
22:18And then in the Spurs and the T-Wolves.
22:25Clarkson misses the second and a lane violation.
22:29Man, you do not see that call very often.
22:33Trenton Grimes looks shocked.
22:34He called it on Grimes, and he doesn't understand at all.
22:38He's got some serious questions about that because you're right.
22:41Guys start to drift in to the lane pretty often.
22:43Again, those on the lane have to wait until the ball hits something.
22:48There you go, and Clarkson gets the second one.
22:53On the release, excuse me, those on the lane can go in on the release.
22:56The shooter has to wait until it hits something.
22:59So you don't really see it called very often.
23:02Grimes on the drive, kicks it out.
23:03Oubre, Oubre, another corner three.
23:06Kelly Oubre, and they are five of eight from three-point range.
23:09That's all set up by the speed of Grimes.
23:11He came off that dribble, handoff, turned the corner,
23:14put so much pressure on that back line,
23:16and a perfect delivery to the opposite corner.
23:20McBride back out, knocked away by Edgecombe.
23:22Edgecombe playing some terrific physical defense.
23:24Shot clock at five, tried to jam it in there.
23:27And another foul against the Sixers that grabbed.
23:30They're going to be in the penalty.
23:33Grimes picks up his first.
23:34And I like the decisiveness right here.
23:36He comes off that ball screen,
23:37and he knows he's got an angle on the big,
23:40which means you're going to have to get a pinch off of that corner.
23:43But then the delivery, what velocity he put on it,
23:46so Oubre had even more time to knock down another one.
23:53So Grimes is first.
23:54Brumson, who has yet to score, has got a couple of assists.
23:570 for 3 so far from the field.
24:05Brumson, 35 points in 31 minutes in game one, only one turnover.
24:10He was quick to say after the game, it's only one game.
24:15As all the playoff veterans know,
24:19nothing matters what happened, whether you lose by 40 or 4.
24:22Well, and that's also the media will overreact.
24:25Everybody will say all the different things.
24:27But if you've been in this playoff journey before,
24:31you understand that every game is a throwaway game.
24:33There's only one must-win game, and that's the elimination game.
24:37Now, you are a member of the media.
24:39Did you overreact?
24:39No, I did not.
24:40I just call the games now.
24:41I don't overreact anymore.
24:42You seem pretty calm, cool, and collected after that first game loss.
24:46For Philly.
24:46For Philly, yeah.
24:50Brines drives on McBride, pulls back, elbow jumper, shot no good.
24:55Plaxton, another defensive rebound.
24:58Sixers by 3, just over 2 1⁄2 remaining here in the first.
25:01Brunson shakes and bakes.
25:02Nice defense for Mubre.
25:04Maxey picks it up.
25:05Back to Edgecombe.
25:06Edgecombe inside, shot no good, but a foul.
25:09And it's meanwhile now with 3 turnovers.
25:11They put a lot of pressure on Jalen Brunson here in the first period
25:15on a beautiful night in New York City.
25:18Game 2, Knicks and Sixers.
25:21I think that's definitely going to be different with this offense.
25:24Without Jurel, it'll be the pace with which they get into their initial action
25:28and the degree to which the floor is spread.
25:31There's going to be more driving lanes.
25:33They're going to space you out with three-point shooting,
25:35and then you've got to knock them down.
25:37Here Grimes as he turns the corner.
25:39Oubre hits one.
25:40Paul George, Kelly Oubre, 5 for 7 between them
25:44to start this game from the three-point line.
25:46It's exactly what the Sixers needed offensively
25:49to slow that Knick offense down.
25:52Sixers shooting 56% from the field,
25:55and again 5 of 8 from 3.
25:57What has been an excellent start.
26:00With 2.35 remaining here in the first.
26:05Edgecombe, Bona, Paul George, Grimes, and Oubre
26:07out there for Philly.
26:12Edgecombe, just 20 years old.
26:15What about this kid that you guys love so much?
26:18To me, I just think it's his overall tenacity, his versatility.
26:21He showed up in the league, first game, dominant.
26:25Then you see his performance in the playoffs.
26:26He is, he is well, he's matured well beyond his years.
26:30He understands the game, and he has so much more room to grow.
26:33He's got such poise, and I just like the fact that he's an all-around player.
26:36He's not just looking for his shot.
26:38He takes this end to the floor very seriously.
26:40He's a very good rebounder for his position as well.
26:43He gives the Sixers a four-point lead.
26:47Good ball denial.
26:48Edgecombe making Brunson really work.
26:50Huck Cordy hands back to McBride.
26:53Paul George in pursuit.
26:54McBride shot blocked.
26:55George knocks it out of bounds.
26:57Knicks have 3.9 to shoot.
27:00Paul George a four-time NBA All-Defender.
27:03You saw it right there.
27:05The effort that he just displayed to get around that dribble handoff,
27:09and not just fight around it and trail McBride into the lane.
27:12He was able to get back on his hip to make that block.
27:16Brunson to Huck Cordy, and an aerial Huck Cordy on the inbounds play
27:20that worked to perfection.
27:29Clarkson trying to poke away from Grimes.
27:32Bona puts it on the floor.
27:33Drives on Huck Cordy.
27:34Stops.
27:35Can't get to the fall.
27:36And a whistle and a foul.
27:39Cordy not happy, but he picks up his first.
27:43Now, when you're able to get an ATO, an easy bucket,
27:47this is just a set.
27:48That's a great screen right there.
27:50Weak side's not in.
27:52Those out-of-bound plays are so difficult.
27:54You're supposed to protect in if you're Vijay Edgecombe.
27:57You're supposed to protect in for two counts,
28:00and then protect out for the three-point line.
28:02If he protects in, that pass is not available.
28:06Bona hits the first.
28:08By the way, we want to send our condolences to Nick Nurse.
28:12It's been a heartbreaking week for him.
28:14His brother Steve, before game six, passed away suddenly, 62 years old.
28:18We asked Nick about his brother before the game.
28:21He said, I'd like to say that I had a coach before.
28:24I had a brother before I had a coach because that's what Steve was to him.
28:28Steve used to take him to the field and pitch batting practice to him when Nick was a kid.
28:32Nick says his brother Steve could fix anything.
28:35He was a very religious man with a strong faith.
28:37And from everything you hear about Steve Nurse, he was one hell of a brother.
28:44He left the team to go back to services and then return last night.
28:48As Brunson fires away, knocks down the three.
28:57George inside, Bona.
28:59Bona's got Clarkson on him, falls down.
29:01Oubre at the point of the Grimes.
29:03Grimes drives hard.
29:05Lost it.
29:06Out of bounds.
29:09Grimes so aggressive, he's going 100 miles an hour.
29:15And a foul.
29:18And Brunson went to take it out of bounds.
29:22Edgecombe picks up his first.
29:26Look, B.J. Edgecombe, we'll sing his praises, but we also have to hold him to the standard.
29:31You can't foul that far away, give Brunson two free throws,
29:36especially understanding that you're in the bonus right now.
29:39So any mistake, especially 93 feet away from the basket, you've got to be smarter than that.
29:44And if you saw them walking up the floor, Edgecombe went over to Brunson and said,
29:47hey, it didn't mean anything intentional there.
29:48And Brunson said, all good.
29:50That's a mistake, too.
29:51You don't do that.
29:52You don't do that.
29:53Young fella, I like it.
29:55And again, Brunson's intelligent.
29:56You don't mean that.
29:57100% I mean that.
29:58In the postseason, you don't pick up other players.
30:01You don't say hello.
30:03We had two head coaches, J.B. Bickerstaff and Jamal Mosley, best friends.
30:07They don't talk before games.
30:08And I'm not saying it was negative or anything, but if he's bleeding a little bit, if he's got a
30:12little bump, hey, that's part of the game.
30:14Legs, you agree with that?
30:15I do agree with it.
30:16There we go, Legs.
30:17R.J. dropped his bag on my foot in the green room.
30:19He didn't even ask me if I was okay.
30:21Because I didn't care.
30:22I don't care in the playoffs.
30:23That's the truest thing you've said so far.
30:26You don't care.
30:28So I'm working with two guys who could care less about sportsmanship.
30:31Yes, in the playoffs, yes.
30:33That about sums it up.
30:33In the playoffs, yes.
30:34Edgecombe gets inside, and a foul on Huckporty.
30:37He's saying he went straight up.
30:40It looked like he may have gone, as the officials call it, A to B.
30:46Again, this is a great backup by Vijay.
30:49Then right there, I don't know.
30:51It was very, very close.
30:52And a lot, that contact can force you to move.
30:56And so sometimes, that contact can bump a player into moving sideways or another direction.
31:00I wonder if the call happens because he turned in midair.
31:04Like, he jumped straight up, but then he turned his body.
31:06That made it look a little bit less like he hit him flush in the chest.
31:11There's no doubt he went up vertical, but he did turn in the air.
31:14And Edgecombe able to hang long enough to get the call.
31:17This is the first free throw.
31:18Edgecombe from the Bahamas.
31:22Vijay stands for Valdez Drexel.
31:25The number three pick in the draft out of Bale.
31:28He plays with a great spirit.
31:29Plays so hard.
31:31Knocks down the second one.
31:32The Liberty head coach, Chris DiMarco, was his coach in the Bahamas when he played for the national team.
31:40And he said that, Vijay, he just gave him the ball and just watched this young man work.
31:45That was part of the reason why the Bahamas had such a great national program.
31:49Brunson gets to the basket.
31:50Blocked by Bona.
31:52Here comes Maxey the other way.
31:54And Dem Bona with a sensational defensive play.
31:56Maxey gets inside.
31:58That won't go.
31:58But a blocking foul on the initial shot.
32:02So Maxey will shoot free throws.
32:07Huckporty now picks up his third.
32:09So remember, the backup center, Mitchell Robinson, not playing out with an illness.
32:14Carl Anthony Towns with two fouls.
32:17And now Huckporty in just four minutes picks up three personals.
32:23Maxey will shoot.
32:26Don't miss a playoff moment with the NBA app.

32:36So Mike Brown going with Jeremy Sohan, who he played at the five a couple of times against teams that
32:41don't have a lot of size.
32:43Sohan, of course, started the year in San Antonio.
32:45Knicks picked them up and played limited minutes, but had some good games down the stretch, especially on the defensive
32:51end.
32:52And he's not going to have a five here that he's matched up with.
32:55You're worried about scoring or a presence in the post.
32:59But you definitely are going to have to get a body on Bona on the offensive glass.
33:03That's going to be Sohan's biggest challenge here, trying to keep Bona away from second chance opportunities.
33:09So Maxey hits both free throws.
33:11Maxey's now hit 34 consecutive free throws in these playoffs.
33:14He missed his first of the playoffs.
33:16Hasn't missed since.
33:18Brunson jumper.
33:19Got it.
33:20Second field goal for Jalen Brunson.
33:27A very eventful first quarter here of game two.
33:32And Anobi now on Maxey.
33:37Brunson picks up on the switch.
33:38And Anobi trying to help.
33:39Edgecombe picks it out in the corner.
33:41Grimes fires away and hits a three.
33:43They're six of nine from three-point range.
33:46And burned him twice now when they've run a second defender in the middle of the floor that far out.
33:52Very difficult rotations out of that to get the shooters.
33:55And Anobi passed on a three.
33:57Pulls up in the paint.
33:58Shot off the mark.
34:00And the first quarter comes to an end.
34:02The 76ers playing without Joel Embiid.
34:05Shooting the lights out.
34:07Here in this first quarter.
34:10Back and forth offensive battle so far early in this one.
34:14Jalen Brunson showing you how tough he is to stop.
34:17But Philadelphia has had answers early in this one.
34:25Without Joel, you guys really want to push the pace tonight.
34:29How do you think you're doing so far?
34:30I think we're doing a good job.
34:32We just want to get the ball out fast.
34:33Make or miss down there.
34:35Push the tempo and transition.
34:36Try to get some easy ones.
34:37And then, you know, play our game from there.
34:39Eight points for you in that first quarter.
34:41And you knocked down a three.
34:42I know that had to feel good.
34:43Just what's feeling better about your shot tonight?
34:45I'm a knockdown shooter.
34:47You know, I look in the mirror and I say that every day.
34:49Obviously, last series, you know, my clip was jammed.
34:52But, you know, I'm ready to knock them down.
34:54I'm ready to let them fly.
34:55But if they're going to sag off me, I'm going to make them pay.
34:57All right.
34:57Good luck the rest of the way.
34:58Good luck.
34:59The clip was jammed.
35:00Well, how about that pass from Paul George as Maxie cut back door.
35:07Towns back in the game.
35:08Backs at home.
35:09Towns played eight minutes in that first quarter of the two fouls.
35:18Maxie inadvertently tripped up.
35:19That's three fouls on Towns.
35:23I didn't even get an opportunity to say that Carl Anthony Towns has to be careful to not pick up
35:28his third.
35:30One of that discussion between Rick Brunson and Mike Brown is about, you leave him in there?
35:36He's saying, no, leave me in there.
35:38You can't leave him in.
35:39He's too important in that second half of this game to possibly pick up the fourth.
35:44If there was three minutes, if there was four minutes, 11 minutes to go in the second,
35:48that's just too much of a risk for their offense.
35:51So Towns will sit, Hart comes in, and Enobi will now play the five.
35:57Alvarado and McBride are out there.
35:58Very small lineup for the Knicks.
36:01Sixers not that much bigger.
36:03Bone is the tallest guy on the floor.
36:04Maxie draws another foul.
36:08We talked about Embiid, and Embiid, of course, draws a lot of fouls.
36:11Maxie the same thing.
36:13Gets to the free throw line.
36:14He's a great free throw shooter.
36:15And right now, Philadelphia is going to look at this lineup for the Knicks.
36:19There's no shot-blocking presence on the floor.
36:21You're talking about guards and wings out there.
36:24Tyrese Maxie fully aware of that.
36:26You're going to see him be very aggressive if he gets any angle to take it to the rim right
36:30now.
36:31Now, this is no disrespect to McBride, but coaches only have so many challenges.
36:36So you've got to understand, if it's a foul on Carl Anthony Towns or if it's a foul on you,
36:40you have to know that coach is not going to try and take away a foul
36:43unless it's a key portion of the game.
36:46So you've just got to take that foul with you.
36:50You see Maxie excellent from the free throw line.
36:54During the regular season, it was 89%.
36:56Took over 400 free throws during the regular season.
37:00He had one of the great games of his career here at the Garden.
37:03He was back in the 2024 first-round matchup.
37:06Sixers were facing elimination.
37:08He threw up 46 points.
37:10They wound up losing in six games.
37:12Alvarado blocked by Bona.
37:13Second block for Adem Bona.
37:18Maxie drives on McBride.
37:20He's got two fouls already.
37:21Pass inside.
37:22Bona not expecting.
37:24Now has a poke away by heart.
37:28We love Bona's effort and energy.
37:31Two blocks already, but one thing he's not going to be doing is dribbling the ball in traffic.
37:37Bridges gets inside.
37:39And Anobi, three-pointer, in and out.
37:41Oubre with the rebound.
37:49Maxie on the attack.
37:51Goes inside, trying to draw some contact.
37:53Not that time.
37:54Bona takes the rebound away.
37:55And he's fouled on the follow.
37:57And Anobi will pick up the foul.
37:59And Adem Bona making his impact.
38:01This is the challenge with Bona.
38:02Now he's not a guy that you're going to throw it to and run action off of, but his energy
38:07is relentless on the glass.
38:09And when you've got a smaller lineup out there, you have to make sure you try to somehow root him
38:15out.
38:15If he gets positioned down there, very difficult.
38:19Excellent defensive play.
38:21Bona's in his second year.
38:22He was a second-round pick out of UCLA.
38:24He's the Defensive Player of the Year in the TAC 12 as a sophomore.
38:28Born and raised in Nigeria.
38:30Youngest of five kids.
38:31But even when he's a kid, he moved to Turkey when he was 13 without family to pursue a basketball
38:36career.
38:37He's obviously worked out.
38:41And an excellent game in Game 3.
38:43As we mentioned, he started the first three games in the first round.
38:47Playing some huge minutes and playing well.
38:50Well, and if you're Carl Anthony Towns, you have to understand, no Mitchell Robinson.
38:53You have to protect these fouls.
38:56These are so, so important.
38:57Because when the Knicks have to play small, Bridges knocks down the middie.
39:01When they play small, they have Drummond.
39:05They have Bona.
39:06They have two great rebounding energy bids.
39:09Maxey from long distance.
39:11And Maxey getting hot.
39:12He's got 11 points.
39:15They're 7 of 10 from three-point range.
39:19Alvarado finds Ananobi.
39:21Cuts to the basket.
39:21But Leia backs it home.
39:23Beautiful look from Jose Alvarado.
39:28But it's the Sixers with a four-point lead.
39:30Almost two and a half gone by here in the second.
39:34George Davona poked away from Alvarado.
39:36Grimes right there to get it.
39:37Blocked by Ananobi.
39:38Ball picked up by Bridges.
39:40Nearly stolen.
39:41Back to the hands.
39:43Alvarado with Bray.
39:44It's good.
39:47Big defense triggering that.
39:49What a recovery by Ananobi to meet that at the rim and allowed the runout and space in the open
39:55floor for Alvarado.
39:58Maxey falling away.
39:59It's up.
39:59It's good.
40:00Some Maxey magic here in the second quarter.
40:02And the Sixers back up by three.
40:04When a small guard adds post-up to his game, it is just so difficult.
40:10Because now he has the ability to slow the game down and read the floor.
40:15Offensive foul on Hart.
40:17Oubre did a fabulous job on Bridges.
40:21Hart tried to help out and used his hands.
40:24First foul on Hart.
40:28Again, Kelly Oubre, the pressure defense, doing a very, very good job.
40:32Making the Knicks have to extend their offense.
40:35Now, that might have been a little bit of an embellishment.
40:38That might have been a little bit.
40:39You think?
40:39There's not a lot of contact there.
40:41Just the fact that his arms got extended.
40:43That's why it was so easy for the official to see.
40:45But there was not much contact or force really exerted by Josh Hart.
40:51So what are you saying?
40:51Just saying.
40:51Play on.
40:52It's the playoffs.
40:52Okay, fair.
40:56Hedgecombe.
40:57Maxey.
40:58George.
40:59Fona.
41:00And Oubre.
41:02Alvarado trying to stop Maxey.
41:04Steps back inside the arc.
41:05That shot is good.
41:07Maxey now 5 of 9 from the field.
41:0915 points.
41:1011 here in the second.
41:11You think Kyrie Irving.
41:12You think Gary Payton.
41:13You think Sam Cassell.
41:15When a smaller guard develops that postgame, that mid-range game,
41:18where you can back down a player, it is so, so difficult to guard.
41:23Bridges left open.
41:24And Bridges continues his great shooting.
41:26Last three games, he had struggled prior to that.
41:29He's 4 for 5 here in game 2.
41:32He got two of them there.
41:33He loves that shot going to his left for that little lean-back 15-18 foot jump shot.
41:39Bona, another offensive rebound.
41:41Hedgecombe drives, gets inside, throws it up.
41:43And Bona with the flush.
41:45But a foul on the pass, so they won't count it.
41:52Side out for the Sixers.
41:54Clarkson comes in for Deuce McBride.
41:56Foul is on Alvarado, his first.
41:58How about the minutes that Bona has given the Sixers right now?
42:00With his defense as the last line on penetration all over the offensive glass.
42:07A lot of energy out there for Bona, giving him great minutes while Drummond sat there early.
42:13Ten minutes, two points, three boards, two blocked shots.
42:20And an OB sits down, Huck Forty comes back in.
42:25Right now, Maxey's loose, and he feels it.
42:27And he is going to be aggressively hunting the basketball right here.
42:30See what the Knicks do if they want to run a second guy at him right now.
42:33Because he likes this matchup with Alvarado.
42:36Max in, and again, falling away.
42:38Shot no good, but a foul.
42:39Alvarado wants a challenge.
42:42Josh Hart upset with the call.
42:44McFan's upset with the call.
42:45Maxey just walks confidently to the free throw line.
42:48We talked about it.
42:49It's that post-up.
42:50You put a smaller guard on him to match his quickness,
42:53but we talked about it.
42:54Sam Cassell, Kyrie Irving, Gary Payton.
42:57There's been so many guards that have the ability to take a player their size,
43:01smaller, and even a little bit bigger.
43:02That is a difficult, difficult shot.
43:08Thought he played him pretty well, and then Maxey spun away from him.
43:12He couldn't really tell.
43:13Was there a little bit of his wrist on the release?
43:15You don't agree with that call?
43:16I don't know that I love that one.
43:18Okay, we're counting two.
43:19I feel like Alvarado held his ground pretty well,
43:21and then Maxey spun away from him.
43:23I agree.
43:24I think Alvarado did do.
43:25I don't think that there was a foul warranted there.
43:27Meanwhile, Maxey finally misses from the free throw line.
43:32He had made 36 in a row.
43:35Do you think it's because you mentioned something, Mike?
43:38I don't think it had any impact whatsoever.
43:41Comes right back.
43:4216 points for Maxey.
43:44Sixers up four.
43:46Jalen Brunson back in.
43:54The Sixers defense night and day from game one.
43:58Clarkson kicks it out in the corner.
44:00Hart left open.
44:02Josh Hart can't hit the three.
44:03Clarkson the offensive rebound.
44:05Throws it back up top.
44:07Brunson fakes and drives.
44:08Now the floater.
44:10Missed it.
44:11Huckporty has it.
44:12Back up.
44:12Blocked by Drummond.
44:15Clarkson thought he got hit.
44:16Here comes George the other way.
44:18George the crossover.
44:20Inside Oubre.
44:21And Huckporty may have gotten a piece of it.
44:24Knicks are saying no.
44:27The Tony brothers is going to check with his fellow officials to see was it deflected.
44:31And brother says no, apparently not.
44:34Good teamwork by the refs.
44:35And it's going to be Nick Ball.
44:36And I think Drummond might have got away with one right there on that block on the other end.
44:44Andre Drummond getting the start with no Joel Embiid.
44:47Just tuning in.
44:48Hip and ankle problems.
44:50He's out for game two.
44:52You know, the Knicks without Mitchell Robinson for game two in illness.
44:56By the way, that offensive rebound for Jordan Clarkson.
45:00That was the first offensive rebound of the game for the Knicks.
45:03And they're number one amongst playoff teams in second chance points.
45:08Major part of what they've been doing in the postseason.
45:11But Philadelphia has done a nice job containing that.
45:14Brunson.
45:15Pass inside.
45:16Trying to jam it in there.
45:17Turnover.
45:17Number five for the Knicks.
45:19Maxey launches three-pointer.
45:21Drummond tips it in with a left hand.
45:25Back to a six-point lead for Philly.
45:27Hart spins into a double team.
45:30McCordy couldn't finish.
45:31Clarkson with a save.
45:32And Bridges has it back to Clarkson.
45:34His floater is good.
45:35Jordan Clarkson.
45:37A lot of activity out there.
45:44There's a frantic quality to this game.
45:49Maxey goes inside.
45:50Layup is good.
45:52Tyrese Maxey pulling on a show here in the second quarter.
45:55He does not need a lot of room.
45:56If he sees any driving angle, he's at the rim.
46:00And Clarkson matches.
46:01So that's a score after score.
46:03But Maxey was behind the play after he made that layup.
46:06And Knicks with a nice advance.
46:08Jordan Clarkson very aggressive.
46:14So Nick Nurse is going to call a timeout.
46:17Everybody can catch their breath.
46:18Midway through the second.
46:20Knicks have had some foul trouble.
46:22Sixers without Joel Embiid.
46:24Tyrese Maxey lighting it up.
46:2618 points here in this first half.
46:31Right now, the Sixers with a four-point lead.
46:42The fans who are actually sick diehard fans like Timothee Chalamet here with Kylie Jenner.
46:47Ben Stiller, diehard.
46:51Tracy Morgan, diehard.
46:53Jay-Z is here today.
46:55Fat Joe's here all the time.
46:57And then Nick Royalty.
46:59Clyde Frazier.
47:00Allen Houston.
47:01And Patrick Ewing.
47:03All those three played in an NBA Finals.
47:06Of course, Clyde Frazier.
47:08A member of the two Knick Championship teams.
47:11Knicks and their fans desperate to get back to the Finals.
47:13First time since 1973.
47:15Maxey misses.
47:16How 40 did a good job poking that away.
47:21Clarkson gets inside.
47:23Stolen by Maxey.
47:24Nice save.
47:25Maxey doing everything here in the second.
47:31Inside pass.
47:32Oubre for the slam.
47:34Maxey so fast.
47:35All created because they couldn't contain the basketball.
47:38He splits two.
47:39Puts him in his rearview mirror.
47:41Now you're basically playing five on three.
47:43Difficult decisions to be made in the paint.
47:46Beautiful cut that time by Oubre.
47:48Brunson.
47:49Hesitation.
47:49Gets inside.
47:50Stops.
47:51And floats it up and in.
47:53Brunson now in double figures.
47:54First Nick Bear.
47:55Four-point game.
47:56Five to play here in the second.
48:00Maxey whips a pass.
48:01Deflected by Hart and stolen.
48:03Hart in the front court.
48:05Finds Clarkson.
48:06Clarkson a three.
48:08And Drummond the rebound falls down.
48:10And Huck Porte just picked up his fourth foul.
48:14In just seven minutes.
48:17By the way, the quickest playoff disqualification because of fouls in NBA history.
48:22Travis Knight fouled out in six minutes with the Lakers.
48:25And I'm sure Travis was very happy that he mentioned that note.
48:30Travis Knight, who played hard and aggressive defense.
48:32Got a couple of bad calls against him that particular evening.
48:35His kids are watching.
48:36I think that's fair.
48:37They didn't have the challenge back then.
48:39That's fair.
48:41Well, he filled up the stat sheet.
48:42Definitely said that.
48:43Six minutes, six fouls.
48:45So Drummond filling it up.
48:46And for legs, that's filling up the stat sheet.
48:49Drummond knocks down the free throw.
48:50Sixers again getting to the line.
48:52That's their 17th in this upcoming 18th free throw of the first half.
48:57We still have 447 remaining.
48:59Huck Porte sits.
49:00Landry Schammett will check into the game.
49:04Again, small lineups right now.
49:07Towns has the three fouls.
49:09Huck Porte has the four fouls.
49:12And right now, the rest of the way,
49:15the 76ers will be shooting free throws on any.
49:18And the Philadelphia 76ers don't have a foul here in this second quarter.
49:25Brunson goes right at Drummond.
49:27Beautiful footwork and he banks it home.
49:30I don't know if Andre Drummond likes seeing that.
49:33Jalen Brunson with a head of steam.
49:35And then he gets into the one-two step.
49:37So shifty, Drummond had no chance to stay with him.
49:42Maxey hands off, Edgecombe.
49:45Edgecombe only four points, but he has played some strong defense.
49:50Little give and go, Edgecombe gets inside.
49:53Bankshot can't get it, gets his own rebound.
49:54Strip, Schammett had it.
49:56And the Knicks come away.
49:57And Ananobi picked it up.
50:00Brunson finds Ananobi, finds some space and throws it down.
50:06Knicks forcing the seventh turnover.
50:10Outside the Gordon faithful.
50:24Maxey throws up a wild shot.
50:27Here comes Josh Hart.
50:29Hart down the middle.
50:30Alley up to Bridges.
50:32And Lennox have come back to tie it up with three and a half to play.
50:36Josh Hart being the catalyst.
50:39The best pressure we've seen out of the Knicks.
50:42You're starting to see a little bit of desperation here with their activity level.
50:47It has sped Philadelphia up even more than they wanted to in the half court.
50:54Knicks defense has picked up.
50:57And so has Jalen Brunson right there.
51:00The Euro.
51:01Andre Drummond to get to the glass.
51:03And then beautiful cut.
51:06O.G. Ananobi sees a driving lane.
51:09Playing with force.
51:11All tied up.
51:16The NBA Conference Semifinals on ESPN are delivered by Chipotle.
51:21Real ingredients.
51:22Real flavor.
51:24Chipotle.
51:25For real.
51:26And at par by Coors Light.
51:28Cold as the Rockies.
51:30Celebrate responsibly.
51:34City for the Conference Semifinals delivered by Chipotle.
51:38Opening weekend of the WNBA's 30th season.
51:41A pair of games for you Saturday afternoon on ABC and the ESPN app.
51:45Caitlin Clark and the Fever.
51:46Paige Beckers.
51:47And AZ Fudd in the wings at 1 Eastern.
51:49Then the defending champion Aces host the Mercury in a final three match.
51:53Coverage tips off with WNBA countdown at 1230.
51:58See the three-point numbers.
51:59And give the Knicks right now some credit here.
52:02Weathering this, you know, offensive storm that Philly hit them with a little bit.
52:06Without Carl Anthony Towns.
52:07He's barely had an impact in this half.
52:09And yet you look up here.
52:11Under four minutes to go.
52:13All tied up.
52:15It was an offensive storm.
52:17It's Hurricane Maxey.
52:18That's the key.
52:20And his heart reaches in.
52:21Shot is good.
52:22And one.
52:23Paul George having an excellent first half.
52:26He kind of set the tone in the first couple of minutes of the game by knocking down some threes.
52:30A hundred percent he did.
52:31But that's what they need.
52:33When Joel Embiid is out.
52:34Yes, there's not going to be a player that can offset that.
52:38But everybody gets six, seven more shots.
52:40So you get six, seven more shots for Paul George.
52:43He's playing with an extra level of confidence.
52:46Joel Embiid is irreplaceable.
52:47But those shots that he takes are replaceable.
52:50And they're going to Paul George.
52:52And they're going to Tyrese Maxey.
52:54So a technical foul has been called.
52:56Josh Hart with the technical.
53:00Well, I mean, Hart was just overly aggressive with his reach in right there.
53:04Paul George had the basketball literally behind him.
53:06And Josh Hart was reaching all the way across his body to try to impede him.
53:11Very smart play by Paul George.
53:13Once he sensed that, just go up through the contact.
53:16And they got a very lucky roll to get the end one.
53:20George, 13 points.
53:23Misses that.
53:24Hart grabs the rebound.
53:32Brunson steps up.
53:33Three-pointer.
53:34Can't get it to fall.
53:35Grimes goes high for the rebound.
53:36And Maxey looks to push once again.
53:41Under three to play here in the second.
53:44Maxey off the bounce.
53:45Pulls back.
53:45Kind of got it stuck on his hip.
53:48Grimes struggling a little bit.
53:51Oubre launches his three-pointer.
53:53Josh Hart grabs another rebound.
53:55And gets fouled by Bona.
53:57And a sarcastic cheer from the McFaithful.
54:02As Bona will pick up his second personal.
54:05They're not in the penalty, so it'll be a side out.
54:08Well, that's their first foul of the second quarter.
54:10That's why you hear the whole garden erupt on that foul.
54:13An inconsequential foul.
54:15But at the end of the day, that's what the hall of the cheering is for.
54:18The free throws in the second quarter.
54:2010 for Philadelphia.
54:21Knicks have not been to the line.
54:25Again, Sixers in attack mode.
54:27Drawing a lot of the contact.
54:29Shamit to heart.
54:32And Anobi pulls up.
54:34Two-pointer.
54:35That won't go.
54:36Bridges trying to grab it.
54:37Good boxing out from Philadelphia.
54:41And Knicks used to having either Towns or Robinson on the floor.
54:45That's why you don't see any activity on the glass.
54:47That's basically four guards and a center boxing out.
54:51Five wing players.
54:53Sixers cleaning up their defensive glass.
54:55Oubre against Shannon.
54:57Well defended that time.
54:58Bona has the rebound.
55:00Nearly taken away.
55:01Holds on.
55:01Finds Maxey.
55:03Maxey pulls back again.
55:05Stolen by Brunson.
55:06One man to beat.
55:07It's Grimes.
55:08Sidestep layup.
55:10And it's back to a one-point game.
