00:30To join today by Secretary McMahon, Mrs. Hexet, and I'm also honored to welcome Mrs. Melody Wolf and Lorraine Hawk,
00:40and to my Chief of Staff, Haley Harrison, who is preparing to welcome her second child onto the world.
00:49Haley, you are a wonderful mother, and I wish you and your growing family all great things.
00:58I often think about the brave people who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
01:05When I went to honor the fallen service members from the 103rd Sustainment Command at Dover Air Force Base last
01:16March,
01:17I realized that words cannot comfort the all-consuming grief that family members, and mothers in particular, experience.
01:27The loss is overwhelming.
01:32Although I understand the deep pride these families feel in their loved ones' service to our great republic,
01:40I cannot fathom the depth of their sorrow.
01:45A mother is awestruck when she welcomes her child into the world.
01:52After nine months, the miracle of life creates a fascinating bond between mother and child.
01:59With each breath, day by day, this bond deepens, bringing forth emotions never felt before.
02:10Quite frankly, these are emotions understood only by women.
02:16Only a mother can carry this type of powerful connection with her child, which is also too profound for words.
02:26This is a time of military conflict for America, and whereby we honor our selfless and valiant service members regularly.
02:38Today is the day we hold their mothers in the highest regard.
02:43It is these military mothers who find themselves alone, awake their thoughts in the darkest hours of the night.
02:53Of course, we must also remember the mothers with a spouse overseas, praying for a safe return so their family
03:03can become whole once again.
03:07At the very heart of America's strength lies the boundless love and quiet power of mothers.
03:14We are the most devoted teachers, gently nurturing empathy, inspiring dreams, and guiding our children towards goodness.
03:26We help them rise with courage when life grows difficult.
03:31In every hug, every story read at bedtime, and every sacrifice made without complaint,
03:38In 2019, mothers build the moral foundation of our families.
03:45In doing so, America's mothers help build the soul of our nation.
03:51I pray you find enduring strength as your loved one serves in defense of our freedom.
04:01Most know my husband as the strong commander-in-chief,
04:06But his empathy transcends the role and shape a caring leader
04:15Who constantly remembers each and every American soldier is someone's child.
04:23Distinguished guests, please join me with a warm welcome for our president, Donald J. Trump.
04:39Thank you, honey.
04:40Great job.
04:42So I want to thank everybody for being here.
04:45We have so many things to talk about, but there's nothing more important than military moms that I can tell
04:54you, because without, without you, I don't think it would be in this house.
04:59I don't think this house probably ever would have been built a long time ago.
05:03So important.
05:04I want to start off by saying we were in our great vice presidents right here and we're in a
05:10I call it a skirmish because that's what it is.
05:14It's a skirmish and we're doing unbelievably well as we did in Venezuela where it was rapid over in one
05:23day and we're doing pretty much equally as well.
05:28I would say larger, but we're doing very well in Iran.
05:33It's going very smoothly and we'll see what happens.
05:36They want to make a deal.
05:37They want to negotiate.
05:38And I think that military mothers would want to hear that.
05:43Do you agree?
05:44I think it's appropriate.
05:45Somebody said, oh, that's not appropriate.
05:46I think military mothers want to hear about this stuff.
05:49And we have the greatest and we have the greatest.
05:54We have the greatest military that we've ever had.
05:58We have the greatest military in the world by far.
06:01There's nobody even close.
06:03And I think we've displayed that.
06:05I built the military in my first term, much of it.
06:08It was when I inherited the military.
06:10It was like when I heard inherited the border.
06:12The border was a mess and the military was a mess.
06:15A lot of you know that because you were you were there to witness it.
06:19And now we have the strongest military that we've ever had.
06:23We're just getting a approval of 1.5 trillion dollars to upgrade our military still further.
06:32But when I was spending all that money in my first term, it was a great term, a very unbelievable
06:37term.
06:38We had the best.
06:40We had the best economic numbers that the country's ever had.
06:44Now we were going to blow them away.
06:46We're blowing them away right now.
06:49But I built the military in my first term with the help of a lot of great admirals, generals and
06:55everybody else.
06:57And I didn't know we'd be using it quite so much.
07:00But that's OK.
07:01Whatever it is, because in the case of Iran, we're not going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon.
07:07And we're not going to let that happen.
07:09And we won't let that happen.
07:11And so we're we're dealing with people that want to make a deal very much.
07:16And we'll see whether or not they can make a deal that's satisfactory to us.
07:19We have it very much under control.
07:22The blockade is unbelievable.
07:24The Navy's been incredible.
07:26The job they did is like a it's like a wall of steel.
07:28Nobody goes through.
07:30In particular, the Iranians are not getting anything through one way or the other.
07:34So they're out of business.
07:36And we'll see whether or not they are agreeing.
07:39And if they don't agree, they'll end up agreeing shortly thereafter.
07:44So that's the way it is.
07:46And I thought you might want to have a little rundown now.
07:49The fake news is all happy because they can hear what we had to say.
07:54And I have to say, J.D.'s doing a fantastic job.
07:57He's working with us, with him and all of the team, Marco.
08:05And we have Steve Whitcoff, Jared.
08:08We have a whole group, the generals.
08:09And General Cain has been fantastic.
08:12Pete Hegseth, incredible.
08:13We have just a great group of people.
08:16CIA John Ratcliffe is great.
08:19I think Mrs. Ratcliffe is even here someplace.
08:22And are you here, Mrs. Ratcliffe?
08:24I think somebody said yes.
08:27But we have amazing people.
08:30We have an amazing military.
08:31And I think it's on display.
08:34Sometimes you'd rather not have it be on display.
08:36But they're there for a purpose.
08:41And the greatest military anywhere in the world.
08:44And the world is watching us as we do our thing.
08:46And we have the respect of the world, which we didn't have.
08:50Two years ago, we were a laughing stock all over the world.
08:53Now we have the hottest country anywhere in the world in every way.
08:56So I just want to congratulate you all because you're a big part of it.
09:03And I want to thank you, Melania.
09:05Amazing the job you've done.
09:07She did a little movie.
09:08It became the number one movie.
09:10Now, you know.
09:13And I can't exaggerate because if I did, they would be all over.
09:17It wasn't number one.
09:19It was number two.
09:20It was number five.
09:21So I can't.
09:22I have to be very, very careful with it.
09:24And then it went streaming.
09:25This is a different world.
09:26I didn't even know what they were talking about.
09:28They said, oh.
09:29And it became number one streaming, too.
09:31So congratulations.
09:33That's an amazing achievement.
09:37And most importantly, and most importantly to her,
09:41she's done an incredible job as First Lady.
09:43And she's an incredible mom.
09:47She has a little boy who's quite tall.
09:51He's a little boy to us, but he's quite tall, right?
09:54And he's great, Barron.
09:56And she takes great care of him.
09:58And thanks.
09:59Today we're honored to welcome the, to the White House,
10:03a group of strong and resilient women who represent the best of our country,
10:08the amazing military mothers.
10:11So important.
10:12And we want to thank you all for being here.
10:15So many of you I know or recognize, and I want to thank you very much
10:18because there's nothing like the White House, right?
10:20Is it the callers?
10:21And by the way, right behind me, see that?
10:23You call it a window or a drape.
10:25I call it a knockout panel.
10:29Because behind that, in fact, if you want to see it, I think we could work it out.
10:33But behind that window is a, and drape.
10:37In fact, the drapes are so nice.
10:38I think I'm going to leave them.
10:40How am I going to get a nicer something than that?
10:43But that's the entrance to the new ballroom that's being built.
10:47Which everybody, which everybody likes, especially since last Saturday evening.
10:53They like it even more.
10:54Because it'll have a thing called security.
10:56It'll be nice.
10:57But right back there is where we're building.
10:59So if you hear any pounding noises, the pile drivers are out.
11:03It's already up to the first floor.
11:05But we're a little bit ahead of schedule, right on budget.
11:09But it's going to be something great.
11:11It'll be one of the most beautiful buildings of its kind anywhere in the world.
11:15And you know, for 150 years, presidents have wanted a room.
11:20This is the ballroom right here.
11:21This is, and it's too small.
11:22We had the king and queen of a lovely country, United Kingdom.
11:28And I had, we would have had at least 1,000.
11:33Everybody wanted to be here.
11:34And we had 112 people.
11:37Because this is a lovely room, but it's not big enough.
11:40It's got one, and it's been that way for many, many years.
11:43So every president's been calling.
11:45But I was in a position being a builder and having built many ballrooms and many other things.
11:51I'm good at ballrooms.
11:53And we're giving you the, I believe it's the best, it'll be the best ever built.
11:57And it will have windows that are thicker than any ballroom I've ever built.
12:01I used to, I usually have glass that's about a quarter of an inch thick.
12:07This is about six inches thick.
12:09This can repel a lot of different, a lot of different weapons.
12:14But it's going to be incredible.
12:15It's going to be, aside from being secure, it's going to be the most, I think it's going to be
12:18the most beautiful ballroom I've ever built.
12:20And it's something that the White House has needed, that presidents have needed.
12:25And it's an honor to be involved.
12:28And it really has become very popular.
12:30When people see the design, they really, they really like it.
12:34And it's been great, gotten some great reviews.
12:36Also, with us is Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, my friend, who's done such a fantastic job, wherever you are,
12:43Linda.
12:45Hi, Linda.
12:47She's great.
12:48What a job.
12:49Along with Jennifer Hegseth.
12:52Jennifer.
12:53Hi, Jennifer.
12:54He's doing some job, I'll tell you.
12:57He's doing a job.
12:58You know, he stood up.
12:59He was the only one.
13:00He was standing up in the ballroom the other day in the event, the White House.
13:07They call it the White House dinner.
13:10You know, they were saying, can you use, well, when you use that term, I guess you probably can use
13:15it.
13:15But we had a little dinner the other night, and your husband was standing on the top of a table.
13:20Everyone else was under the table.
13:22So that's what we want of our Secretary of War, right?
13:25We want somebody.
13:26But he was standing on top of the table.
13:28Everyone else was under the damn table.
13:32Anyway, he's doing a fantastic job.
13:34He and the General.
13:35Those are great news conferences.
13:36We like them.
13:37They work very well together, I can tell you.
13:40The wife of Pete Hegseth.
13:43And say hello to Pete.
13:45Michelle Ratcliffe.
13:47Michelle?
13:47Where is Michelle?
13:49I think she's here someplace.
13:51Michelle?
13:51And the wife of CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
13:55And Jackie Emmer.
13:57Jackie?
13:58You are so great.
13:59I know Jackie well.
14:01Because her husband and I, we didn't know each other.
14:03We fought.
14:05You know, in politics you can fight.
14:07And then when we got to know each other, we love each other, right?
14:10But she always liked Trump.
14:12And she convinced her husband, who's a big power in the House.
14:16She convinced her husband that Trump was much better than he thought.
14:20And I remember you.
14:22I like you.
14:22Now I really like him.
14:24He's an incredible.
14:25But I like you more than I'm always.
14:27Because you were there long before him, right?
14:29But Jackie, you're great.
14:30I appreciate it.
14:31Thank you very much.
14:33And as you know, Tom Emmer is the House majority.
14:37Whip.
14:38And he's a fantastic person.
14:40Real leader.
14:41Comes from an interesting place.
14:43A place that's under investigation by our great Vice President.
14:46They're finding a lot.
14:47And Tom Emmer, who is one of the biggest complainers about what was going on in Minnesota
14:51and lots of other places.
14:53I also want to say a special thank you to the many moms among our fantastic military aides
14:59and social aides who support us here at the White House.
15:03They've been incredible.
15:04All of you have been so incredible.
15:06And I want to thank you very much for being with us today.
15:09It's beautiful.
15:10The women in this room have sacrificed for our country in countless ways.
15:14Among you are veterans and active duty service members, proud spouses, and the parents of
15:21those who serve in uniform.
15:23Amazing people.
15:24The most amazing people.
15:25Many of you have missed cherished moments.
15:29And you really have.
15:30You've spent so much time taking care of the ones you love.
15:34You've missed holidays, birthday parties, graduations, or even a child's first words.
15:40Others have moved more times than anybody can even count.
15:45And I don't know if you love doing it or not, but you get very good at it.
15:49You have the way.
15:50You know the way.
15:51You know the way to do it.
15:52But you do it all because you love America.
15:56You love our country.
15:57And this week, as we prepare to celebrate Mother's Day, we take this opportunity on behalf
16:02of all of us to say thank you very much for the incredible job.
16:07You do it with love, so it's not, I don't think, there's no such thing as a job if you
16:11love
16:11it.
16:12But we'll call it a job nevertheless.
16:15The job you do is incredible.
16:17And everybody respects you so much.
16:19You have no idea.
16:20So I just want to thank you all and thank you all for being here.
16:24Joining us is someone who knows the incredible sacrifice of service, Brittany Stevenson from
16:31Camp Lejeune.
16:32That's a hell of a camp.
16:34That's beyond a camp.
16:36The word camp, I don't know.
16:38It doesn't look like a camp to me.
16:40Her parents were both Marines.
16:42And in 1983, her dad survived the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut.
16:48We talk about that even to this day.
16:50That was something.
16:51Brittany loved the Marines so much that she married a Marine herself and the love of her
16:57life.
16:58Taylor, over 15 years, her family has moved 10 homes, 10 different homes, and been assigned
17:05to six duty stations from all over the world.
17:10And now her daughter, Ava, is part of the Marine Corps Junior ROTC program and wants to become
17:15a Marine as well.
17:17So, Brittany, your family is a definition of Semper Fi and always faithful.
17:23And I want to thank you.
17:24Where are you?
17:25Where are you?
17:25Please stand up.
17:27Would you like to come up and say, come here, Brittany.
17:36Thank you.
17:39Thank you.
17:40I'm not really sure what to say, but this is such an honor and a privilege to be here.
17:44I'm truly touched to represent my family, the Marine Corps, Camp Lejeune, and military moms
17:51and spouses like you all.
17:53So, thank you.
17:59Good job.
18:01She had no idea she was going to be doing that, but I looked at her.
18:05I said, she looks so great.
18:07I'm going to get her up here, right?
18:10That was beautiful.
18:11Thank you very much.
18:12As Melania mentioned, we're also honored to be joined by a military mother who sacrificed
18:18far more than most as Melody Wolf.
18:23And, you know, I love the name Melody because for a long time, you know, they have spell correct
18:29and word correct in these crazy machines that we use to put out truths or they used to be
18:35called tweets.
18:36And every time I wrote Melania, it would correct to Melody.
18:43So, I'd do things and I'd work very fast, very fast.
18:47Blah, blah, blah, blah.
18:48And I'd talk about it and I'd say, and Melania is fantastic.
18:52And happy Mother's Day, Melania, our great first lady Melania.
18:56But it would spell correct and word correct to Melody.
19:01And sometimes I wouldn't proofread it and I'd say, hmm.
19:05And I would get just absolute decimated.
19:07These people would decimate.
19:09He said he didn't know the name of his wife.
19:12He keeps calling her.
19:13And I said, what the hell is wrong with this machine?
19:16I didn't know about that little feature, but I got that corrected eventually.
19:20You know who corrected?
19:21The military.
19:22I said, come here.
19:23You got to correct this.
19:24You're killing me.
19:25I took more abuse.
19:26She's been called Melody a lot.
19:29Anyway, I had to explain it to you this way.
19:32I stood up here to explain it to you.
19:34I apologize.
19:35Last year, Melody's 24-year-old son, Andrew Wolfe, of West Virginia National Guard,
19:43was on patrol in Washington, D.C., helping to restore law and order to our capital city.
19:50And I spoke to her.
19:52This woman is amazing.
19:54Along with her comrade specialist, Sarah, who is just was a fantastic person.
20:02He was ambushed by a terrorist and shot in the head.
20:07A violent, horrible person did this.
20:10Nobody thought Andrew was going to make it.
20:13But Melody told me, and I called her that evening in the hospital.
20:17Sarah, I have no doubt, the doctor said he won't be making it.
20:22And as you know, Sarah passed away also from a shot to the head by these people.
20:29These horrible, horrible people.
20:32But Melody was the one person.
20:35In fact, Melody's husband, who's great, he didn't feel the same way.
20:40But she said, I have no doubt, sir.
20:42I'm telling you, he's going to be fine.
20:44Don't worry about it.
20:45He's going to be fine.
20:46I never saw anything.
20:47It was really pretty amazing.
20:49And she was right.
20:52A week went by.
20:53Another week went by.
20:54I'd call.
20:55I'd say, how's he doing?
20:56Sir, he's doing really well.
20:58And the doctors would say, I think he maybe will make it.
21:02And she turned out to be right.
21:03It was sort of a miracle, actually.
21:06And I've never seen, you know, they talk about the power of positive thinking.
21:10I've never seen anything like this one.
21:11J.D., you wouldn't believe it.
21:12He had no chance.
21:14I'm telling you.
21:16And she willed it.
21:19And now it's really something very special that I think I hear he's just doing fantastic.
21:26It was a Bible verse from the book of Isaiah.
21:30Do not fear, for I am with you.
21:33With God's help, Andrew has made a really incredible recovery.
21:38It's hard to believe.
21:39And during my State of the Union address, we were privileged to award him the Purple Heart.
21:44This was a real Purple Heart.
21:45This was a terrible thing that happened.
21:49And Melody, where are you, Melody?
21:51There you are.
21:52Hi.
21:53Haven't seen you in a little while.
21:54But it's true, the story, right?
21:56You were the only one.
21:56You know that you were the only one.
21:58She was so positive, I don't think she hurt anybody else.
22:01And your husband's doing okay.
22:03And he feels much better about it.
22:06He was not feeling too good.
22:08I think you should.
22:09Do you want to say something about your boy and how?
22:11Come on up here, Melody.
22:13No, it's an amazing.
22:15It's such an amazing story.
22:19Such an amazing story.
22:21We went through a couple of bad nights together, right?
22:24Yes.
22:26I first want to say that we had the nation behind us at a time when nobody thought our boy
22:34would
22:34make it.
22:35He was 24 years old.
22:36He was a young man on the streets of D.C., a shot to the left part of his brain.
22:45We have a strong faith in God, and God is what brought our son through this.
22:50He gave us an amazing backing.
22:53He gave us amazing doctors.
22:56He gave us amazing nurses.
22:58And our community, our nation, our community, just all of the support and the support of the White House medical
23:05staff.
23:06Go ahead.
23:07Anything that our son needed was met.
23:11We are just truly thankful.
23:14And we're a little over five months.
23:16He came home from the hospital April 2nd, and he is now enjoying being home.
23:22He's getting back into playing golf.
23:25He loves cornhole, as you know.
23:27Yes.
23:29He loves doing so many activities.
23:31And so we're truly blessed that we're able to get him into some outpatient care closer to home.
23:37We do have another surgery coming up in September.
23:40And just recovery is my understanding that will happen for quite some time.
23:45But I have no doubt that he will be 100% back to Andrew within a few years, independent, driving,
23:54being a young bachelor again.
23:56So thank you so much.
23:58Thank you.
24:00Thank you.
24:03Thank you.
24:04Thank you.
24:06Incredible.
24:09That's incredible.
24:15That's incredible.
24:16That's incredible.
24:18That's incredible.
24:19Nobody really can understand it, but I was with the general, who was fantastic, right?
24:26And he said, not much of a chance, maybe no chance.
24:33I mean, I hate to say it even, but no chance.
24:35They all said the same thing.
24:37And she said, no, God is with him.
24:40I'm telling you, President, God is with him.
24:43He's going to be okay.
24:44And I get reports that he's amazing.
24:47Right?
24:48So congratulations.
24:49Thank you very much.
24:50You taught us all something.
24:57Appreciate it.
24:58Also joining us is an outstanding active duty Air Force mom, Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Collazo.
25:05She's an MQ-9 Reaper drone pilot.
25:10Whoa, that's pretty good.
25:14An evaluator, a weapons officer and desk officer at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
25:23She has traveled to 20 countries, flown over 7,000 hours, and eliminated many high-value targets.
25:30She's a great, great talent, they say.
25:33Our military is strong again.
25:35And as Amanda says to herself, we are, as a nation, we are really respected again.
25:41She said that, and it's true.
25:43So, Amanda, thank you very much.
25:45Where are you, Amanda?
25:46Where are you?
25:47Where's...
25:48Come on up here, Amanda.
25:49I got to do this.
25:50You know, they're not, they're not expected to, but they're doing very well.
25:55Come on up.
25:55That's great.
25:59Thank you very much.
26:01Thank you, Mr. President.
26:03Thank you, Melania, for hosting this event.
26:04Thank you, Cindy, for inviting me out here.
26:07I just want to say I'm proud to be an American.
26:09I am proud to serve our nation in the world's greatest Air Force.
26:12Thank you for all of the moms out here, and for your spouses, your kids, yourselves.
26:18So, thank you all, and happy Mother's Day.
26:27She's very sharp, isn't she?
26:30She'll be running for office someday.
26:33Great.
26:34Thank you very much.
26:35Appreciate it.
26:36As Commander-in-Chief, I will always support our great service members and their families.
26:40We've invested a record-setting trillion, and now it's up to $1.5 trillion, and all built
26:47in the USA, by the way.
26:49All right?
26:49So, it's a lot of jobs, too, you know?
26:52Some people said, I did it for that.
26:53Actually, I didn't.
26:54I did it for the military, but it's a byproduct.
26:57We have tremendous numbers of very talented people building all of the things that we do, and we make the
27:04best equipment anywhere in the world by far.
27:06They're all ordering it for us.
27:07In fact, I've given a special edict that the defense companies who have the best equipment, they're not making it
27:16fast enough, and now they're all building plants all over the place.
27:20I said, you're not allowed to buy back stock anymore.
27:23I told some of these people that are making millions and millions of dollars, you've got to reduce your salary.
27:28I'm going to reduce your salary.
27:29You're going to put it into weapons.
27:30And it's been incredible.
27:34The spirit we have, and they're building, some of them are building six, seven plants right now to make the
27:40Patriots and the Tomahawks.
27:42Tomahawks are unbelievable.
27:44Patriots, unbelievable.
27:45We had, recently, we had 111 missiles shot at one of our very valuable objects, something called an aircraft carrier.
27:54Think of this, 111 missiles, high range, high quality, speed missiles, very high, very fast, very top of the line.
28:05111, out of 111 missiles shot at a, you know, well, it used to be, you'd like to say, a
28:12billion dollar boat.
28:13Now they're about $18 billion, they're very expensive.
28:16But 111 coming at them at 3,500 miles an hour, all 111 were shot down and didn't even get
28:26close to the ship.
28:28And they're all laying at the bottom of the ocean along with the Iranian Navy.
28:33They're all laying very nicely under, under the water.
28:36But think of that, five years ago, a thing like that would have been impossible.
28:41Ten years ago, it's not even thinkable.
28:42Ronald Reagan actually thought of the concept.
28:46They called it Star Wars.
28:47But it wasn't a concept that anybody thought would ever work.
28:51But, you know, you have these things coming at you.
28:55And we have the Patriots.
28:56The Patriots are the best of them.
28:59And we have other things also.
29:01But it's, when you think you hit 100% of the missiles coming at us, it's not like, oh, let's
29:08let a couple get through.
29:09It's not that bad.
29:10One gets through its problems.
29:11So we can do things today.
29:13And no other country has anything like that.
29:15They don't have anything with the power, with the strength, and with the, you know, it's accuracy.
29:21Really, it's accuracy.
29:22Got to hit.
29:23It's like hitting a needle in a haystack, they were saying.
29:26And yet they do it every time.
29:27It's pretty amazing.
29:28And we have the most talented people operating that equipment.
29:32For that, you have to be high IQ.
29:35And you have to have no choke because you have about 12 seconds to make a decision and take the
29:42aim.
29:42And you have to be very good mathematically.
29:44You have to know what you're doing.
29:46You have to be very smart.
29:47You have to see the education, the schools.
29:49They go to the best schools in the world.
29:51Some of them come out of, I know I called up a couple.
29:54I said, where did you go to school?
29:55I went to MIT.
29:57So it's a, you know, we have a, it's a very different, frankly, it's a very different military in many
30:02ways.
30:02But we have invested a record setting amount of dollars.
30:06And the U.S. Armed Forces is now stronger than it's ever been.
30:10And we're getting stronger and getting stronger.
30:12And it's so important.
30:14Every branch is setting records and recruitment.
30:16And I'm very proud of the Space Force because that was a branch that, a new one that came up.
30:23And we were losing to Russia and to China in space.
30:27And we had it as part of the Air Force, but it wasn't really thought of, you know, once it's
30:31part of something,
30:32and we put a great general in charge.
30:35And the Space Force is now leading the other countries, China, Russia.
30:40And there is no fourth, really.
30:43And leading them by, we saw numbers the other day, leading.
30:47We're leading in space by so much, it's, we're never going to be caught.
30:51So I'm very proud of Space Force.
30:53First time that that's taken place, a new force.
30:56The last one was the Air Force.
30:58And this is, that was 78 years ago.
31:01So this is brand new and we're very proud of it.
31:03It's turned out to be, I think it's going to be one of our most important as time goes by.
31:08A lot of the things that you see, a lot of the accuracy of the weapons is caused because of
31:14what we created with Space Force.
31:15So we're very proud of that.
31:16But every branch is setting records in recruitment.
31:19When last year, if you remember, before I came to office, actually after the election, it started picking up rapidly.
31:27To be honest with you, November 5th, we had a little election.
31:30We did quite well.
31:31We won every swing state.
31:32We won the popular vote.
31:33We won everything.
31:34We won 87% of the counties.
31:37We won it all.
31:39We won it all.
31:39What I will tell you, right after that election, it started.
31:44But before that, we had the worst recruiting in the history of our country.
31:48People didn't want to be in the armed services.
31:50They also, they didn't want to be police.
31:51They didn't want to be firemen.
31:52They didn't want to be anything with a uniform representing our country.
31:56And it was the lowest number we've ever had.
31:59And I can say very confidently that at this moment, we have the highest recruitment, the most successful recruitment for
32:06the military, Army, Navy, the Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, all of it.
32:14We have the highest recruitment, the best recruitment that we've ever had.
32:18We have lines of people wanting to get in.
32:21We're taking people based on their fitness and their quality.
32:24We're taking you wouldn't believe what the difference it is.
32:29And Washington, D.C. is an example.
32:32And the that's why it's so sad when Melody comes up and talks about that one event, because, you know,
32:39the numbers in Washington, D.C. are so incredible.
32:44The numbers have gone down from from we had a place that was so, so unsafe.
32:50Our great capital and now it's considered one of the safest cities anywhere in the United States.
32:55We went to Memphis and Memphis was was a killing field, practically.
33:01And now it's down.
33:01The numbers are down.
33:03Crime 80 percent in New Orleans, Louisiana.
33:06The governor called up Jeff Landry.
33:08He said, sir, we have the Mardi Gras coming up and we have a lot of crime in the city.
33:12Can you do something?
33:13We put our people there, mostly National Guard, but whatever is necessary.
33:18And we have crime was down 79 percent after two and a half, three months.
33:23And by the way, if they had the brains in Chicago that ask us to go there, we'll solve the
33:28problem for them very quickly.
33:30We'd go to San Francisco very quickly.
33:33San Francisco would be so easy for us.
33:34We'd go to New York and help them out.
33:37We'd love to help them out and we'd get crime numbers down 70 percent, 80 percent, 90 percent in a
33:43matter of months.
33:44We took it in in D.C. was really bad.
33:48I don't want to go into the numbers in terms of using the word murder, but it was really bad.
33:53And it's gone from that to being we're down 92 percent.
33:58And actually, I'm trying to figure out, you know, the the 8 percent, who they are.
34:02One of the things we did, we did and some people like it, but the numbers are the numbers speak
34:08for themselves.
34:09If you really get down, you see drug traffic coming into our country's way down and by sea, by sea,
34:17by ocean, by the water.
34:19You know, a lot of people say, what do you mean by sea? Is it sea like vision? No, it's
34:24the S.E.A.
34:25But it's down 97 percent.
34:29Think of it, 97 percent.
34:31For years, they'd grab a boat and they'd bring them in and they'd see a judge and they'd let them
34:36out.
34:37And the next day he's back in his country, bring in more drugs and nothing worked.
34:41We're down nothing. Get worse, worse, worse.
34:43Down 97 percent.
34:46And we're trying to figure who the 3 percent are because we consider them to be maybe the bravest people
34:51anywhere in the world.
34:54You look at those boats, pew, pew.
34:56And you feel terribly except for one thing.
35:00Those boats, 25,000 people die from just a couple of those boats.
35:07Think of it from drugs, ruin families, ruin everything.
35:10And when you see that, you say thank you very much.
35:12But drugs coming in by sea are down 97 percent.
35:15And now we've started the land force, which is much easier.
35:19And you'll hear some complaints from some people in like representatives from Mexico and other places.
35:26But if they're not going to do the job, we're going to do the job.
35:29And they understand that.
35:30So that's sort of the easy one by comparison to the sea.
35:34We had to do the sea first.
35:35You had no idea how much came in by water and very little.
35:39Almost nothing is coming in right now.
35:41They don't want to do that anymore.
35:43But no one should ever doubt the resolve of America's military moms.
35:47They're incredible from the start of our republic down to today.
35:51Our nation's been strengthened by the love and devotion and the commitment of incredible women.
35:56These are really incredible, really incredible women who've served our country,
36:02supported our troops and poured out their care and compassion for this nation that we all love.
36:08So I just want to thank everybody and happy Mother's Day.
36:10And God bless you all.
36:12Thank you very much.
36:13Thank you.
36:27Thank you very much.
36:52We're going to get it.
36:53We're going to get it.
36:54Gracias.
