00:00He's done it or not?
00:02He hasn't done it yet. It's all full.
00:04It's okay. We'll be...
00:05Okay.
00:08Dharmesh.
00:10Hello.
00:12Good evening, everyone.
00:13Hope everyone's well.
00:18Hope everyone's good. If you have a question, raise your hand
00:19and we'll come to you. I believe Dharmesh from Sky
00:21wants to go for us, so...
00:23Are you sure?
00:26We'll kick off with...
00:28Over to Dharmesh.
00:32Thanks, Dan.
00:34Mikel, congratulations.
00:35Can you just put into words
00:37how proud you are of your players,
00:40the fans
00:41and yourself?
00:44It's an incredible
00:45night.
00:47We made history again together
00:49and I cannot be happier
00:52and proud for everybody that is involved in this
00:54football club. The manner that
00:56that we got received
00:57outside the stadium already was special
01:00and unique.
01:01The atmosphere our supporters created, the energy,
01:03the way they lived with us.
01:05It made it special and unique.
01:08I never felt that in the stadium.
01:10And we knew how much it meant to everybody.
01:13We put everything.
01:13The boys did an incredible job
01:15and after 20 years
01:17and for the second time in our history
01:19we are back in the Champions League final.
01:22Alex, BBC.
01:23Hi, Mikel.
01:24How proud of you
01:25of the whole campaign,
01:27unbeaten all the way through.
01:28It feels like some of your best performances
01:29of the season
01:29have come in this competition as well.
01:31Yes, because we know how difficult and challenging
01:35every opponent is at this level.
01:37And Atletico, they are an incredible team.
01:39The way they compete, the solution they have,
01:41the answers they have to everything that you try to do
01:43to them immediately.
01:45It's incredible.
01:46That's the reason that they've been there.
01:47Diego has done an outstanding job there.
01:51The margins are so small
01:52and tonight they've gone for us.
01:57There was perhaps some surprise at the line-up
01:59being the exact same as what we saw at the weekend.
02:02What was the feeling that made you select that team?
02:04I mean, if you see my iPad,
02:08the amount of line-ups that I've done
02:09and put it and change it and turn it again
02:12and what about this and freshness
02:13and the possible soaps
02:15and if they do that we do this,
02:17at the end it was my gut feeling.
02:19And I had such a good feeling
02:20from what I saw a few days ago against Fulham
02:23that I said.
02:25And to do that it was painful
02:26because it's always difficult to leave.
02:28Important players out
02:29because they all want to be involved
02:30and start this kind of games
02:32but you saw all the finishers,
02:36the manner that they got into the pitch
02:38and how much they helped the team.
02:39James Cidius?
02:40Hamika, what was going through your head
02:42in that moment where the ball loops up
02:44from Willow's head
02:45and it sort of feels like it's breaking
02:47and Gabby comes out of nowhere
02:48and saves the day?
02:49What's going through your head in that moment?
02:51The order immediately.
02:52My wife, my kids, my parents, my sister
02:55and then all the people that are involved at the club
02:58because I know immediately what it feels.
03:01But you can think and say
03:03it's going to be a beautiful night.
03:04But when you actually are looking somebody in the eye
03:07and it has that expression
03:09you look to the supporters
03:11and they are just immensely proud and happy
03:14that's when our job makes sense
03:16because many of the times
03:17it's difficult to find the right reason
03:19what we do, what we do.
03:20But when these things happen
03:22then everything that we do obviously is worth it.
03:25Hi, Mikel.
03:26I wonder if you could just put some perspective
03:28on not just this season's journey
03:29but in Europe going back five seasons ago
03:32there was no Europe.
03:33Then the Europa, then getting back in the Champions League,
03:36then getting to a semi and now a final.
03:39How do you feel about how hard it is
03:41to kind of bit by bit
03:43in quite a quick period of time
03:45to make that jump?
03:48Yeah, well, it's very tough and difficult
03:50but again, we've all been so aligned
03:53on the desire and ambition that we had for the club.
03:56And then you have to be sometimes lucky,
03:59things have to go your way.
04:01We put obviously so much work, passion
04:04and belief into what we do
04:06and today we got rewarded to have an incredible day
04:10in Budapest in a few weeks.
04:13Hi, Mikel.
04:14You spent six and a half years trying to turn this stadium
04:17into something ferocious, hostile.
04:21Was that tonight kind of the high point of that for you?
04:25Yeah.
04:26That box is thick now.
04:27Now we have to maintain it
04:28but now we go to the level that I think
04:32a top club that wants to be fighting consistently
04:35for the highest trophies, that's a must.
04:40And we've got it now and now we have to maintain it.
04:43It's time to tell you about.
04:45Hi, Mikel.
04:45You've had a lot of ups and downs this season
04:47and you always say take one game at a time.
04:49But after the City Resort last night,
04:51after what you've done here,
04:52is there a feeling that this could really be
04:54one of the most historic seasons in the 140-year history of this club?
04:59The high is not too high, the low is not too low.
05:01Yeah.
05:01My job is to be quite stable.
05:04I really want to enjoy, everybody's enjoying this moment now.
05:08Tomorrow we have to start to prepare for Sunday.
05:10We have an incredible game now to play against West Ham,
05:13a really tough one.
05:14And we're going to have four days to do that.
05:16So it's great.
05:17Let's enjoy the moment.
05:18But tomorrow they start to leave the present again.
05:21Okay.
05:21We'll do a couple more in English and then we'll go to Spanish.
05:23Martin, the Sun?
05:24Yeah.
05:24Mikel, a few weeks ago it felt very different.
05:28There was a sense of fear in this stadium.
05:31Some of your players looked fatigued.
05:33What have you done to change things?
05:37What have you had to do?
05:38Or is it within them?
05:40Is it something you sensed just had to be brought out of them,
05:44that it was always there, but they maybe doubted it themselves?
05:48It's down to them.
05:50At the end of the day it was that they have to put these kind of performances.
05:53I can try to convince them and give them love and clarity
05:57on what is, in my opinion, the most important thing
06:01to be competitive and give us the chance to win what we want to achieve.
06:05But then they have to do it.
06:06And it's an incredible group of players and staff.
06:10And, yeah, in elite sports, in football in particular,
06:13you can live a really difficult day.
06:16But if you can work it, maybe you get rewarded.
06:18And we've certainly done it in the last few weeks.
06:21Hi, Mikel.
06:22I appreciate you obviously trying to keep your feet on the ground,
06:25but after that result yesterday with the City and now into that final,
06:28you must feel as though the momentum is really behind you.
06:32It's great.
06:33You know, everybody can feel a shift in energy and belief in everything.
06:37Let's use it in the right way.
06:39And understanding that the margins and the difficulty
06:42of what we are trying to achieve, it's huge.
06:46But we have the ability and conviction today, that's for sure.
06:49Okay.
06:49We're going to Spanish now.
06:50Juan from Lamarca.
06:53We are together.
06:53Thank you, Mikel.
06:54Thanks.
06:56In the meantime, Mikel, you've been coming back.
06:59You have reached in the meantime, good to be.
07:05When you were in the moment, you haven't come back to it yet.
07:11You have come back to it later.
07:14You've ever been coming back.
07:15Well, you have been coming back to it later.
07:17You have come back to it later.
07:19You have come back.
07:20You've already walked back.
07:20You are now from a good start.
07:21I've been waiting for three years from the club.
07:22We have had a lot of support, and then we have had the chance to do it with the people
07:26that we have brought,
07:27whether the staff or the staff, for a little bit to create something.
07:31The people have believed it, our aficionados have broken up with the team,
07:34and when that happens, these things can happen.
07:38How about Mikel?
07:39In direct for the Larguero of the Cadena Sero.
07:41In the end of the final.
07:43At the end of the first game, you talked about an decisive game.
07:49I wanted to ask you what you think of the team today.
07:52Thank you very much.
07:53I think it's been very good.
07:54I don't have anything to talk about.
07:59Okay, one right at the back.
08:00So if you could shout in Spanish, that would be lovely. Thank you.
08:04We have a microphone.
08:05Hello, Mikel.
Me he perdido la idea.
09:54Quiero preguntarles, ¿no?
09:56¿Vas jugando a Miles-Louis Skelly en la temporada un intento wildcard,
10:00sabiendo que los equipos no han preparado para su estilo de playa?
10:06No, no, no.
10:08No, no, no.
10:08No, no, no, no.
10:10No, no, no.
10:10Solo el sentimiento.
10:12Y creo que he estén muy difícil.
10:14Puesto a él.
10:14Toughinglo.
10:28thanks everyone
