SAVAK — the secret police that forced an entire nation to live in fear.

Built with the backing of the CIA and Mossad, this powerful machine was meant to protect the Shah’s rule. But how did it end up bringing down his own regime?

In 1957, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi established SAVAK to secure his authority. Trained and supported by the CIA and Mossad, the agency’s mission was clear: crush dissent and maintain absolute control.

But over time, SAVAK became far more than just an intelligence service—
It turned into a machinery of fear.

Every phone call could be monitored…
Every friend could be an informant.

From universities to mosques to marketplaces—fear spread everywhere.

In 1976, a report by Amnesty International exposed systematic torture in Iran, shocking the world.

Soon after, pressure from Jimmy Carter and growing protests began to shift the tide.

The fear that once controlled the nation… turned into anger.

In 1979, with the return of Ruhollah Khomeini, SAVAK was dismantled.

And the files it left behind revealed thousands of hidden truths—exposing the reality of the Shah’s rule to the world.

This is a story of power, fear, and backlash—
Where a system ultimately collapsed under its own weight.
