00:00The encouraging thing is that within an hour and a quarter there seems to be a very clear trend in
00:04our favour
00:05and even some reasonably popular politicians from the LDF are trailing
00:10which I agree is entirely premature because they've counted a couple of rounds every 8-10 rounds to count
00:16but I just want to say that I think it's very clear that the Kerala electorate has to be congratulated
00:21they understand the issues even if they like a particular MLA or minister or whatever as an individual
00:27they realise that casting a vote there means casting a vote for a continuation of misgovernance
00:32and for that reason they have decided it's time for a change
00:35and even people whose individual popularity we are not disputing seem to be behind
00:40this I think is a very good sign and for us in the UDF
00:44we are not going to make any premature celebrations
00:46but I can see that it'll take already a major reversal for things to look very different
00:52let's talk again in an hour or so, hour, hour and a bit
00:54and we'll certainly, I think, if we get a confirmation of this trend with more than half the votes counted
00:59in most places
01:00then I think we are heading very clearly forward
01:02for the moment it's a good beginning
01:04and if you do come to war, will you be a contender for us?
01:07I think right now we've got enough contenders
01:09what matters now is there should be a change of government, a change of policy and a revival of Kerala
01:16I think the entire thing, I hope that I can count on my ideas also being of some use to
01:22the new government
01:22but my message will certainly be development, completely changing the disastrous fiscal situation
01:30really doing essential work to make Kerala once again a haven for investment
01:34so that we can grow, generate jobs for our people and prevent a situation where our young people are fleeing
01:40the state
01:41because they feel they have no possibilities
01:51I think it will be interesting to see what comes out of all of this
01:55at the moment we've always known that NDA would be viable only in a handful of constituencies
02:00that is we never thought that they had any serious contention chance beyond four or five
02:06and even there, we thought that they could end up second and not first
02:10so it's not that we were in any case expecting to concede very much to them
02:14but it's early days, let's see in the next few hours how it evolves
02:18but you know, as I said last time also, a party that is zero in the assembly
02:23if it goes to one or two or three, does it change anything real for the people of Kerala?
02:27and that's the real answer
02:29I think for us what we need to see is a new government and our focus is on that
02:33Thank you
02:38Thank you
