00:03It requires a tremendous amount of faith and that's why the majority of this world doesn't

00:09They say, oh well we go out and we do good deeds and we do good actions and we do

00:15and we do that because you have a lot of confidence in yourself that you can do something, makes
00:22you to feel good and the hopes that something good will be written for you and the ocean
00:28of faith that God is asking from us is that I'm going to give you an immense reward and
00:35I'm asking you to do nothing, don't do and as a result of your abstinence and sacrifice
00:41for me , pray unto your Lord and sacrifice.
00:46These are the realities and when God is asking from us sacrifice, don't eat and drink for
00:54my sake.
00:55This requires a faith that I'm so used to doing things thinking I'm going to get the
01:00reward for them and now I'm told don't do anything and immense rewards will come.
01:06And the nafs tricks people to think, oh you don't have to do that, you do so many good
01:11things.
01:12Why do you have to do that?
01:13And the outside world looks, says, well we do so many good things, we just don't do
01:17that one.
01:18So, but that was the key to faith, all the other good actions, it makes your ego also
01:23feel good.
01:24You go out and do this good deed and do that good deed and even so much so that people
01:29like
01:30to videotape themselves in these acts because the nafs is involved in acts of worshipness
01:36and the danger of acts of worshipness in which the nafs can enter, the ego can enter and destroy
01:43the action, make it to be dirtied.
01:46Once something becomes impure it ruins the action.
01:50An action can become impure when the ego becomes too prevalent within the action.
