00:14I'm an engineer in instrumentation and control.
00:16I was doing my master's degree.
00:17I had the opportunity to go to the World Olympics.
00:21I didn't see the flag of Colombia.
00:24I said, here we have to bring the flag of Colombia,
00:27because our children have the same abilities as all these children.
00:33Hace 10 years, we started the World Olympics with 20 teams.
00:40Now we have more than 200 teams
00:42that are competing for a group
00:45to represent Colombia in the world.
00:49In the United States, we achieved the first three positions.
00:52And we have also been in competitions like Spain and Portugal.
00:57We need in our country more engineers with social sense.
01:02Monica Sánchez, at first, is the international director of Fundación Global,
01:07but is the person who has allowed or generated
01:12what has generated that in these boys
01:14they begin to become dreams in reality.
01:18We are looking for the best science, technology and robotics
01:23in the world
01:24so that children, from 7 years old,
01:27can participate.
01:29In the case of public schools,
01:31we help them get resources
01:33so that they don't lose this opportunity.
01:36We have the same capabilities of any university,
01:39any college,
01:40and Monica has taught us that.
01:41Do you have any idea of how this microswitch works?
01:45To know that robotics is at the reach of us,
01:48not as we thought we were only from other countries
01:50and that a public school would not have that opportunity,
01:54but thanks to Monica, we knew robotics.
02:00Well, Monica Sánchez, with her robotics program in Colombia,
02:04achieved the participation of the aprendices SENA
02:06in the World of Robotics in Kentucky in the year 2017.
02:11They created a prototype
02:12that uses the functions of a gardener,
02:15like podar and regar.
02:19What I love to Monica and the Foundation
02:21is that they have these technologies
02:24accessible to the people,
02:26like the public school, right?
02:30NASA, in the United States,
02:32we support these programs
02:34that are the same
02:35that we bring and develop here in Colombia.
02:38That's why, for us,
02:40NASA is so important for us.
02:42In this country, we need more engineers.
02:45When I look at the children operating the robots,
02:48I see great talent in Colombia.
02:49I see the ability to be able to create a future
02:52for this country.
02:54The 30.6% of the Colombians
02:56live in poverty.
02:58And the only way to go from there
03:00is through education,
03:02but in science and technology.
03:04And that's what our foundation is working on.
03:07There that is.
03:10There's two people.
03:11There, that's always a while.
03:17There that's also a struggle.
