00:00This is my first medal in 2017 in Slovakia.
00:03It is a medal that I will mark for all my life,
00:06because my father was sick.

00:10I couldn't breathe,
00:11and I didn't have my mother to give me permission.
00:16My father was sick,
00:18he had to go with me,
00:20and in one of those,
00:20he gave me a break.
00:22And when he recovered,
00:25I said,
00:26I will promise I will compete with all my strength
00:30to be able to be a world champion.
00:33We went to the world,
00:34and I achieved the goal,

01:06Cuando tenía más o menos 13 años,
01:07me metí como el punto de
01:09quererte volverme
01:10en el Juegos Olímpico para Colombia,
01:12y se empezó a volver un sueño personal,
01:16y día tras día sonaba eso,
01:18hasta Río de Janeiro,
01:19que se cumplió el sueño
01:20de poder ir a los Juegos Olímpicos
01:21y convertirme en el Juegos Olímpico,
01:22pero la verdad que
01:23I came with my heart and I asked Him a lot to do it and I was training with a
01:27lot of discipline to achieve it.
01:33I really liked that my dad was alive because that was a mutual dream of him and me that we
01:40had personally.
01:43Obviously, we couldn't achieve it because the goal was to achieve that dream.
01:47I was born in 2015, but it also gave me a lot of strength to keep going.
01:52I know that He is with me, supporting me wherever he is and giving me the strength to keep going.
02:04Sometimes you are fine and sometimes not.
02:06I think the most important thing is to have that perseverance and that desire to keep going.
02:11And to fight for your dreams.
02:13When I was a kid, I proposed to him and I am achieving it.
02:17What is your success?
02:21What is your success?
02:22The success is not only to win and to be the first.
02:24I just am here the second.
02:26But for me, this is a gold medal for everything I've been through in my life.
02:29For everything I've been through these last two years after Tokyo.
02:32Nobody knows what I've been through.
02:34It's not to be excused or anything, but I've been through,
02:37I've been through some difficult circumstances in my career,
02:41with many injuries, many altibajos,
02:44many psychological problems,
02:46many family problems.
02:47But, well, here we are.
02:48And for me, this is a medal of gold.
02:50And I know that obviously it doesn't count the same.
02:52But for me, yes.
02:54And for my family.
02:54Let's go.
