00:00This is one of the worst types of decisions, but it's the kind of penalty you see given
00:04a lot in the Champions League. PSG were awarded a penalty for a supposed handball from Bayern
00:09Munich defender Alphonso Davies, and it's annoying for three reasons. Let's have a look.
00:15So the first thing is that it's so close. Davies is barely two yards away from Dembele when he's
00:20crossing the ball, giving him no time to react. Second, if you look closely you can see that the
00:25ball actually clips Davies on the thigh so it deviates before hitting his hand. Again,
00:31that makes it impossible for him to react and move his arm to avoid the contact. Thirdly,
00:36the fact that this sort of a foul leads to a penalty, roughly a 75% chance of a goal,
00:41just feels excessive and a bit out of sync with the situation that caused it.
00:45It was only after a VAR check that the penalty was given and it might prove to be a massive
00:50moment in
00:50the tie. But what do you think? If Bayern are knocked out in the second leg next week,
00:55is this the moment that cost them?
