00:20Ang kanyang karera, tinutukan niya ni Martin Javier na palaging in the game!
00:57I chose Wushu because it was very different and it was not a sport that many knew and so I
01:04gravitated towards that.
01:05I feel like it's my advocacy to share to the world what Wushu is.
01:12In last year's SEA Games edition, si Agatha ang nanguna sa women's division.
01:17Pero alam nyo bang nakaka-stage fright pa siya before every performance?
01:21I feel like a lot of it just has to do with my mindset, which always happens every competition.
01:27Pero iniisap ko na lang, I trained for this, I worked hard for this.
01:31If I lose, I lose with grace.
01:34As it turns out, tama pala yung desisyon mo na lumipad to Thailand.
01:38I was really happy when I won. I broke down.
01:41My teammates filmed me and they were so happy for me because they knew how scared I was.
01:45Sa 17th World Wushu Championship sa Brazil last September, nagwagi naman ng bronze medal ang ating multi-gold medallist.
01:53How did you feel, first off, that you were able to elevate your game to a world stage, a world
02:00level?
02:01I just kind of eventually fit in, you know, little by little because I get stage fright a lot and
02:07I'm not that confident.
02:09I think this sport really gave me this type of demeanor na I have right now.
02:14How do you keep yourself hungry to still win?
02:19The fact lang na I'm doing this sport every day and it's in my life, I'm already grateful for.
02:26And so winning is just secondary to me.
02:29I'm, you know, just representing the country is already such an honor.
02:34So, you know, if I win, that's really good. If I lose, I have more lessons to learn.
02:42But, you know, you're a six-time SEA Games champ, atleta na med-student pa.
02:48Do I go into medicine?
02:50In my 20 years of being a national athlete, there's just so many misconceptions about injuries, about sports,
02:58that I would like to help people with.
03:02Siyempre, hindi tayo nagpahuling masubukan ng wushu with our pro.
03:07Agad ha, pag magta-try ng wushu, ano yung kailangan tandaan muna?
03:11Ano yung mga basics?
03:13So, important, really important is yung warm-ups.
03:19So, yung pinaka-basic na tinuturo sa amin sa wushu is yung kick.
03:23So, yung unang stretch natin is, so, anong tayo? Forward.
03:27You can do it here, kung saan mo kaya, but we do it usually here.
03:33Tayo ko muna yun sa'yo. Pag medyo pabali na, okay lang.
03:37Okay, so we do it like that.
03:40Okay, ito lang.
03:42May sige, wala talaga eh.
03:44Okay, guys, I'm suffering.
03:49The first basic kick is called the front kick.
03:51Yun yung sinasabi ko na yung pinaka-main goal mo is to kick here sa forehead mo.
03:56You have to kick flex.
03:58For the arms, you put your arms parang nagpo-push ka here.
04:03It has to be straight.
04:04Step with your left, and then kick up hanggang saan mo kaya.
04:10So, ito yung buwelo niya.
04:16Today, we got to try Wushu.
04:18Nalaman natin kung gano'ng kahirap to.
04:21Pero syempre, kung paglalaanan natin ang oras, kung gusto mong subukan,
04:25may chance ka maging katulad niya na world-class athlete and, of course, a champion.
04:30Once again, this has been Martin Aguirre.
04:32Agatha Wong.
04:32Keeping you in the game.
