00:24Lando Norris. Then it's Oscar Piastri, who crucially maintained third position with that
00:28launch off the line on the harder compound of tyre. And they've all safely made it through
00:32the first few corners. There's a look to the inside from Charles Leclerc, who's up a place.
00:37Alonso is up a place as well. And George Russell has dropped too. But the three contenders for the
00:41title are breaking the toe as we make our way down to the first really big opportunity for
00:47overtaking on this opening lap. And it's side by side between the two McLarens. Lando Norris has
00:52the inside line. Oscar Piastri is closing in. Aston Martin versus Ferrari in the background. And it's
00:57Charles Leclerc on the power first. Max Verstappen leads. Yeah, Max has got the absolute dream
01:02start. He's broken that slipstream as Oscar continues to weave. And Oscar's going on the
01:07outside of Lando. Can he go the long way round? This would be audacious. That is absolutely unbelievable.
01:15Still fighting for this title. Oscar Piastri up to second. Wow. Wow. What a move on the hard
01:23tire to go around the outside in that turn. We've just seen the pass of the season, surely.
01:31Now, here's George Russell making Fernando Alonso check the mirrors, or at least he was.
01:35Brake pedal might be going long, but he's able to take the pass on the Aston Martin. No contest
01:39into turn six. And Russell is up to P5. Leclerc's really close to the back of Norris. Here we go,
01:44jumping on board to Charles. Should be too far back. It's not such a big breaking zone into nine,
01:49but he's closing. It is very close with the Ferrari. Not part of this championship battle.
01:54And then rather than putting the pressure on Max Verstappen like he would have been hoping to do so,
01:59it's Lando Norris looking in his mirrors right now at the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc.
02:05And Lando Norris into the pits for a hugely pressurized stop for every member of this McLaren pit
02:11crew. Yeah, Ferrari following in as well. So it will be a battle of the pit crews. It's a superb
02:17stop.
02:172.1 seconds under pressure, so he should be covering off Russell. There goes Antonelli,
02:22and Russell is still behind.
02:26To the inside of turn five, on those hard tires, Lando Norris clears one. Those are the moves that
02:32he's going to need in the next couple of minutes. And he's in a great position and gets himself space
02:40on the inside. The Williams fighting his own race. Doesn't put up any battle. Norris up to seventh
02:45position. That is two cars cleared nice and quickly.
02:50It might get a little bit more funky when he gets to Lawson, who we know has got a penalty.
02:54But Stroll, I think it will be easy work here with DRS.
02:57It's always funky racing Liam Lawson, isn't it? He's an aggressive driver.
03:00The DRS for both of the drivers here. Lando Norris in the Papaya McLaren going past one,
03:06going past two. He needed efficient passes. He's finding them. Track position for Lando Norris.
03:12And another exam question answered in his quest to be the Formula One World Champion.
03:18Lawson will get DRS to potentially have a go back. He'll hug that inside line. Will Lawson go
03:23back ahead? Lawson is going to risk it around the outside. There's grip out there. Norris keeps it
03:28pinned. And Lando Norris kept the place. Can Norris use the slipstream and get ahead? Tsunoda. Oh,
03:36nearly off the road there. Lando Norris. Decisive move to the inside. Tsunoda thinks about the lunge,
03:41but there's nothing he can do. And for all the talk of tactics, first chance for Lando Norris off
03:48it up. First chance taken. And he's back in P3, which he needs to become the champion.

04:26of 2025? 2.4 seconds back into the fast lane. And this is the battle for the lead of the

04:33Long stint for Oscar Piastri, yet to stop. Max Verstappen diving to the inside, taking the lead on track.
04:41Oscar Piastri passed for the lead, ran the alternative strategy, was hoping for an incident.
04:47Everyone's still running. All 20 cars haven't finished the Grand Prix since Singapore. No incident came.
04:53And he manages to go and complete his first stop in 2.2 seconds.
05:00He's going to need to be 1.5 seconds quicker than you every lap. I'll keep you posted.
05:04So the Red Bull strategy seems to be simply beat Oscar and hope that something happens to Lando in the
05:11last 14 laps. And then Max will be world champion.
05:16There's Hamilton. Wheel to wheel. With Esteban Ocon. And he gets by. He gets through and up to seventh place.
05:24And he continues his charge through the field. And crucially, for those at the front, he does so cleanly.
05:29And he'll have a look at Fernando Alonso next door, will he?
05:32Ocon roaring back. They're still racing each other. It's still in the balance.
05:38And the aero wash of the Haas in front meant a big correction for Lewis Hamilton.
05:44And it's Max Verstappen who is making his way to victory for the eighth time in Formula One.
05:52He came roaring back. But the comeback of all comebacks will fall short. Max Verstappen wins the Abu Dhabi Grand
06:01Prix.
06:02But this will be a victory lap for Lando Norris. Oscar Piastri will come over the line next.
06:09But the moment has nearly arrived for Lando Norris, who has grown resilient in order to stand center stage in
06:17Formula One.
06:18And after 24 rounds, Lando Norris is the Formula One World Champion.
06:26Norris wins the title in 2025. To call yourself the champion, you have to still be standing by the end
06:36of the fight.
