00:12Let me just say a few words. Thank you all for covering this. Thank you for being here.
00:17Obviously, this shows a growing awareness and commitment throughout the world, particularly
00:22with our allies in the West and in Europe, the importance of supply chains and critical
00:28minerals to the success of our economies and to our national security, for that matter.
00:33The overconcentration of these resources, the fact that they're dominated by one or two
00:38places, is an unacceptable risk. We need diversity in our supply chains, diversity in the places
00:43we get critical. And this memorandum of understanding, which isn't just going to be a piece of paper,
00:48it's going to be brought to life through real actions, are going to be important for the
00:53economic vibrancy of all of our economies, the global economy, really, but also to the
00:56security of our countries. And so today is a very important gathering between, if you
01:01look at the buying power, the economic productivity power, of the combination of the United States
01:06and the European Union, it's extraordinary. We are combined the largest customers and users
01:11of the world, and we have to make sure that these supplies and these minerals are available
01:15for our futures. And in ways that are not monopolized in one place or concentrated in one place,
01:21we have to have reliable, affordable sources for this. And so this is a very important achievement.
01:27And we thank you for being a part of this today, and we look forward to working with you on
01:30it
01:30as you operationalize it with our Trade Representative and our Department of Commerce.
01:34Thank you very much, Secretary of State. It's a pleasure to be here with you, because what we are doing
01:40today
01:40is very important, strengthening our relationship. And with this memorandum of understanding, I believe that
01:47we will be more strategic together, we will be delivering on our goals much faster than before,
01:55and we, of course, will be growing stronger together in this very important area. And, indeed,
02:01the memorandum of understanding is very important. And we continue with Ambassal of Rear to work on an action plan.
02:07And I totally agree with Mr. Secretary that now the real test will be the execution of this project.
02:12How can we transform these agreements which we are signing into the concrete, tangible project
02:17to deliver for our business operators? And the last thing I would say, I'm very glad that we have this
02:23possibility
02:24and occasion today, because I see this very concrete delivery, on a very important basis,
02:29we built the last year, the European Union and the United States temporary agreement, just because
02:37it proves that they are delivering, and that it opens the new possibilities of our very fruitful and important cooperation.
02:43So, Mr. Secretary, thank you very much. Thank you. All right. We're going to sign.
03:17Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
03:25Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
