00:00How important was the book to you guys?
00:02I had it.
00:02Hang on everywhere.
00:03We embraced the script just as much as we did the book.
00:06That was the most important thing we wanted just to do justice to the book
00:12and for the fans who love it so much because we are fans as well.
00:15So everybody gave it 110% to the book.
00:21Had the book on set every day.
00:22She did.
00:23She had her little notes and she'd flip through it and we'd go through some scenes.
00:26She would talk to Josh, the director, and be like,
00:27hey, there's this thing in the book that I'd like to add.
00:29And he's like, of course, let's do it.
00:30And it was great.
00:32And I'd sit there and just be like, yeah, me too.
00:33I think that's a great idea.
00:35Yeah, I love that scene.
00:36Yeah, I love that.
00:38Well, what's one of the things you added, McKenna?
00:39Do you remember?
00:40Gosh.
00:41I'd have to go back and look at all my notes in the book.
00:43Yeah, there were a good amount.
00:44There was a lot of little things.
00:46There was this one scene where she, well, never mind.
00:49I did pull a sucker out of your mouth because that was in the book
00:52and there was a whole thing.
00:53But I don't know.
00:53There was a couple little things in there that I can't remember right now.
00:57But there's a few.
01:00And what about your relationship with the book?
01:03Did you crack it open, decide to just move it aside?
01:06No, I didn't want to let it cloud what was on the script.
01:10And I've done a few movies that are based on books.
01:15And I find it's easier just to, you know, sometimes, I take that back.
01:21There's been some books that I've read that were based on true stories
01:25and I've read those.
01:27But this just felt like I was doing what I was doing
01:30and I wanted to listen to Josh how he wanted it.
01:32And I wanted to listen to Josh how he wanted it.
