00:03So this sort of picks up where The Good Wife left off?
00:08Well, we kind of say it's more of an extension of those universes
00:12because Good Wife and Good Fight, they took place in the legal world.
00:17Right.
00:17And I started on The Good Wife 14 years ago.
00:21I was in season one, but I would just appear periodically
00:23throughout the two shows.
00:25You played Elsbeth.
00:26Playing Elsbeth.
00:27Right.
00:27And so I played Elsbeth 19 times over the 14 years, right?
00:32And then they wanted to build a show around her, which, wow, right?
00:37It doesn't happen.
00:39And they decided to do that.
00:41They wanted to do something new.
00:43So they moved my character into basically a police procedural.
00:49So we go from a law show to a police procedural.
00:53So I play, you know, this brilliant, unorthodox lawyer.
00:57Who's really good at solving cases.
01:00And they bring me into New York.
01:03The premise is I'm there to basically make sure that the NYPD doesn't do anything that
01:08would lead to a lawsuit.
01:09They've had some wrongful arrest lawsuits in the past.
01:12So I'm there to just...
01:13A compliance person.
01:13Yeah, it's called a consent decree.
01:16I'm just there to make sure that they do okay.
01:18But I walk onto a crime scene and I'm like, hey, what's this?
01:21Why is that happening?
01:22What is that?
01:22I don't think this is a suicide.
01:24Hey, let's do this.
01:25And I turn out to be this great detective.
01:28And so that's what it is now.
01:30Do you think you could...
01:32Like, do you think differently now?
01:34Could you solve a crime?
01:35I mean, I might solve the crime of where I put my keys.
01:41But that's probably as much as I could do.
01:43Would you solve the crime of where Mark put his phone?
01:45Because that is...
01:46I probably...
01:46And my wallet.
01:47And his wallet.
01:48Yes.
01:48But the great thing about Elsbeth is that it's not a whodunit, it's a howdunit.
01:52Oh, I like that.
01:53So you meet the murderer at the beginning and we have these incredible guest stars that are coming on to
01:58do our show.
01:59Like, amazing.

02:00And so you see the murderer at the beginning and then you see how Elsbeth and her cohorts put it
02:06together and figure out how they do it.
