05:01Distinguished participants, Turkey is a multi-national and multi-faceted geopolitical hub
05:11playing a decisive role in the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, the Mediterranean and the Mexico.
05:21Japan, for its part, is one of the leading actors ensuring stability, economic resilience
05:28and technological transformation in the Asian Pacific.
05:33The coverments of the two countries' experience, wisdom, and strategic vision
05:40on more intensive platforms of engagement will yield beneficial results in many respects.
05:48It is possible to develop further partnerships that will set an example in many areas such as
05:56energy security, resilience of global supply chain, humanitarian diplomacy, economic cooperation,
06:03disaster management, and advanced technology.
06:07Expanding academic change and collaborations along with new platforms that bring together
06:14young researchers and decision-makers at the establishment of regular consultation mechanism on strategic issues.
06:24We further enhance the institutional capacity of this partnership.
06:30On the other hand, we observe that regional and global challenges also necessitate joint action
06:38in the global communication and frontier.
06:42Cooperation against retreats such as disinformation, psychological operations, and perception management,
06:52which have escalated with the impact of the new technologies, is of vital importance.
06:58In this context, building a communication and media-left landscape centered on truth, justice,
07:07requires an establishment of comprehensive and deep cooperation.
07:13I am confident that this program facilitates the institutionalization of consultation, partnership,
07:24and cooperation mechanism to be implemented across all these domains.

09:09SETA Foundation and Sasakawa Foundation have a long history of cooperation.
09:13Although due to unforeseen reasons like COVID-19, our cooperation has been interrupted in multiple different instances.
09:22Last year we decided to revive this cooperation during Sasakawa Peace Foundation's members' visit to the international system.
09:34But what type of solidarity is really important.
09:37When we look at today's international system which simultaneously influence the geographical and geopolitical position of Japan and Turkey,
09:49I think this is unknown unfortunately.
09:52We like this sort of current status of multipolarity.
09:57We are moving from unipolarity world to the multipolarity world.
10:03This is crystal clear.
10:06But unfortunately we are moving towards a more fragmented and more competitive international system.
10:14I think it's going to be very difficult to accommodate such a competitiveness in the international system,
10:22the normal and rule-based international border.
10:26Unfortunately this is not the, you know, Turkey and Japan would like to see.
10:33It will be very risky for all actors.
10:38It will be undermining the international stability.
10:41I don't know exactly where to show all the men.
10:45But we don't know how to defeat the militants.
10:47Iran or the Gulf region or Qatar or etc.
10:51So I think that's an academic struggle.
10:55The second thing, for instance, once you raise the question, any question about Gulf region,
