00:00been reduced.
00:01And some would say also that even bigger threat was their nuclear program.
00:07Only, this is what analysts say, they have revealed that actually their biggest threat
00:11is the control or the ability to control the Strait of Hormuz.
00:16So when the next round of talks happens, if it does, do you think they go in strong on
00:23the Strait of Hormuz or now weak on the Strait of Hormuz?
00:26And could the United States again say, these are our terms and now take them or leave them?
00:33Well, I think in this particular case, the United States has got to establish freedom
00:37of navigation through the Straits.
00:39And that won't be just the United States, but that has got to be the outcome.
00:43The challenge there, of course, by geographic location is it doesn't take a lot for Iran
00:49to maintain enough threat to make commercial shipping too high risk for most companies
00:56to do.
00:57And so we would have to likely completely destroy Iran's capability, which might mean putting
01:05soldiers and Marines on the ground to do that.
01:08And so a negotiated settlement that opens up that Strait, I think, has to be a critical
01:14or maybe the critical outcome.
