Taiwan's defense ministry says it is closely monitoring the latest round of Chinese military drills in the East China Sea. The exercises, which began at the weekend, come after Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force sent warships through the Taiwan Strait and waters off Taiwan’s east coast to join the annual US-Philippines Balikatan exercises.
